I Heard I’m the Only Healing Cub in the Interstellar Chapter 9

Chapter 9: The Cub’s Wandering Plan

“Major General, what should we do? Did something go wrong during the Young Master’s bloodline awakening? How could bloodline beastification be 0?” The adjutant muttered to himself, then said as if comforting himself: “Could the machine be broken? Yes! It must be that the machines on the starship are old and in disrepair, leading to an error in the Young Master’s test. I said the Young Master awakened a bear-type bloodline; how could beastification be 0? We’ll test it again when we get back!”

Shen Zeyu was silent.

The mechanical pod wasn’t very soundproof, and Shen Lin heard the adjutant’s words clearly. He saw his nominal big brother staring at the screen in silence. Seeing the strange expressions on everyone’s faces, his good mood from earlier hit rock bottom.

In this world, he had become a little monster, but it seemed he wasn’t the kind of little monster they had in mind. Did something go wrong with his hatching?

Perhaps because of his own special ability, Shen Lin had been sent to a sunless laboratory from a young age. Relying on this ability, he could keenly capture everyone’s emotional fluctuations. The looks everyone was giving him, although very subtle, were clearly filled with sympathy and pity. Not one person was happy about him becoming a little monster.

Shen Lin glanced at his big brother of this lifetime and lowered his eyelids again. The few traces of secret joy in his heart vanished. In this new world, he was still the kind of person no one liked. Just like every time he passed a human city, everyone would shout at him.

“Little monster, go die!”

Shen Lin pressed his aching heart and silently turned his back. His bad mood only lasted for a moment; he had long ago worked out a set of self-comfort and self-happiness programs in the apocalypse. His small paws touched his full belly, and he began to calculate in his head what living materials he would need to wander alone.

First, he needed to further understand this world to ensure his own safety during his future wanderings. No one noticed the change in Shen Lin’s emotions; even if they did, they hadn’t yet recovered from the shock of the cub being detected with a bloodline beastification of 0.

Inside a space station on the edge of a remote star zone, a starship as dazzling and luxurious as a flame slowly stopped in the berthing area. The starship bore the emblem of the Ikaruosi planet, shining brightly. A group of royal guards wearing uniforms with golden-threaded eagle claw totems and long swords at their waists filed out of the cabin, stopping in front of the Shen family starship.

The black cabin opened, and a boy with dazzling red hair scanned the area with a supercilious gaze. The guards shouted in unison: “Your Majesty!” Their voices were magnificent and their momentum was grand!

The beastmen from other planets docked at the space station looked on with curiosity, observing this group of beastmen who clearly had an extraordinary aura from a distance. Sang Hu took four guards and the testing machine brought from Ikaruosi onto the starship.

As the machine reported the exact same data as the previous test, the last sliver of hope in the adjutant’s heart was shattered. Unlike the adjutant, what Shen Zeyu cared about wasn’t Little Four’s unique zero-point spiritual power; instead, he wanted to see if the testing machine could detect that special energy from before.

The results were a great disappointment. If that power didn’t belong to Little Four, then whose was it? Unless… besides him and the Little Tyrant’s ultra-S-grade spiritual power, there was another beastman with S-grade spiritual power at the space station. Could the other party be someone the Federation people had specifically left here?

On second thought, Shen Zeyu felt it was unlikely. The wave of energy he felt didn’t carry any aggression, just like a passerby who was curious about the scenery and took a random glance without targeting anyone. But he couldn’t rule out the first possibility.

Shen Zeyu looked up and met Li Heng, who had just returned from outside. The latter shook his head at him silently. Shen Zeyu’s expression darkened. Li Heng was the only SS-grade in the Interstellar; his bloodline power could cover an entire planet. As long as he caught a trace, he could easily detect the other party no matter where they were. A person even he couldn’t find was either someone using a special device to avoid him, or their bloodline power was even stronger than Li Heng’s!

Neither of those was something Shen Zeyu wanted. Shen Zeyu’s cold gaze warmed as it fell on the cub curled up in a ball and sleeping. Their family already had four Fierce Beasts. Whether Little Four was a Fierce Beast or an ordinary beastman didn’t make much difference; his father and the three siblings could block all external dangers. Little Four only needed to be responsible for growing up well. With a bloodline beastification of 0 and weak combat power, at most he would prepare more weapons for him that could withstand the attacks of an S-grade beastman.

The Shen family had fought for the Federation for many years; they could surely obtain some rare materials from the battlefield. It would be more than enough to hire the best mechanical master to build weapons.

A guard stood every three meters around the Ikaruosi starship and the Federation vessel, their chests out and heads high, their gazes as sharp as hawks. With such a powerful aura, the beastmen observing from a distance didn’t dare approach.

In the same room, with the same people. Standing in the medical room acting as a temporary cub room, the two men with long legs held spoons to the cub’s mouth. However, the cub, who had been eating beast milk with great joy earlier, didn’t seem to be in high spirits this time. Both Fierce Beasts noticed at the same time: the cub was unhappy.

“Little Four, what’s wrong?” The big brother, who had always raised his brothers roughly, was for once at a loss when faced with a cub that needed careful nurturing. Although his voice was still hard, his tone was soft.

Shen Lin was in a bad mood, but he wouldn’t refuse food. In the apocalyptic world, the soil was heavily polluted, and food was scarce. Having food meant he could live; how could he possibly waste it? He wouldn’t refuse any food handed to his mouth. As a result, he didn’t know what it meant to be full and just kept eating.

The cub, focused on eating, ignored his big brother’s concern. He was going to leave anyway, so there was no difference whether he responded or not. Not getting a response from the cub, Shen Zeyu wasn’t annoyed. Big Brother Shen had experience raising two brothers and knew that a cub’s emotions were fickle. Smiling one moment, and crying the next.

Unfortunately, Big Brother Shen had guessed wrong on one point. This cub was one who had wandered with monsters in the apocalypse and had memories; he wasn’t a blank slate. Currently, he was focused on finding out the situation in the new world to prepare for his future wanderings.

Shen Zeyu went to process documents after feeding the cub. He still carried the rank of a Major General on his shoulders. With a mountain of official duties, he couldn’t revolve around the cub for everything. He only gave the healer a few instructions before getting busy with his work.

In the temporary cub room, Li Heng propped up his chin, watching the cub flattened out like a pancake, his little belly rising and falling with his snores. His pink paws were slightly open, revealing pink paw pads. Li Heng watched and leaned close to the cub, burying his face in the furry, soft belly. He felt as if he was practically ascending. He thought: As expected of a cub I find pleasing to the eye; not only is he cute, but even his belly is so soft.

The idea of taking the cub back to Ikaruosi popped up again. Li Heng squeezed the cub’s soft paws and buried his head again to “suck” the cub. Suddenly, his body froze. He sat up and looked around to make sure no one was there before letting out a quiet sigh of relief. As the Emperor of Ikaruosi, he couldn’t do such undignified things again.

Li Heng’s eyes drifted to the cub, lingering on his soft belly for three seconds, before looking at the door. Should I… suck him again? Li Heng buried his head once more.

Three minutes later, he released his spiritual power. Except for his Captain and Vice-Captain of the Guard standing at their posts not far away, there was no one else. Li Heng retracted his spiritual power and let out a small cough. He straightened his slightly messy clothes and sat up straight, regaining his proud demeanor as the Ikaruosi Emperor.

Sang Hu, the Royal Captain of the Guard, and Chen Chan, the Vice-Captain, who had long since retreated to a corner to stand guard, stood up straight silently. Their Emperor was only fifteen, still a cub himself; it was normal for his temperament to be unstable. Very normal.

After a long time, the Vice-Captain’s faint voice came from the quiet corner. “Captain, I heard His Majesty wants to take Young Master Shen back to Ikaruosi?”

Sang Hu: “…”

Chen Chan continued: “I remember the little princess is also an egg-born White Falcon. She was also soft and cute and wanted His Majesty to hold her. In the end, His Majesty directly set the princess’s feathers on fire…”

Sang Hu rubbed his chin. “Probably, maybe… different species?”

Chen Chan paused, a question popping into her head: Is that so?
