Chapter 27: Sent for Appraisal part 1

Dazzling flames accompanied by a heatwave surged toward Huai Boshe.

In the moment the flames illuminated the area, Huai Boshe shot a glance at Yun Yingzhi, his eyes filled with surprise.

He activated his ability, and a layer of white sand shimmered in his hands. Then, layers of white sand spread out, extinguishing the incoming waves of fire.

Seeing his twelve cannons easily extinguished, Yun Yingzhi was so angry he nearly transformed into his second form to attack Huai Boshe more fiercely. However, a final shred of reason held him back, and he continued to control the source weapon to blast Huai Boshe.

The scene became even more chaotic than before. Many students were hit by the aftershocks and drawn into the group fight.

Whispers drifted through the crowd:

“What happened that night?”

“I bet our School Beauty is definitely the battle-rabbit from the Yaoming Battle Arena!”

“I think so too!”

“Yingzhi’s three roommates look so angry. Something terrible must have happened, right?”

Yun Yingzhi’s eyelids twitched frantically. Meanwhile, he continued to manipulate the twelve cannons to bombard Huai Boshe.

But there was something even more soul-crushing.

Huai Boshe truly lived up to his title as the Year Chief. His strength far exceeded that of an ordinary person. In a one-on-four situation, not only did he not fall behind, but he also gained control of the battle immediately.

Ignoring Yun Yingzhi’s constant provocations, Huai Boshe pressed Yu Feiwen and the others back step by step.

Yun Yingzhi’s beautiful lips pursed into a thin line, and his face slumped. He realized that a Level 5 source weapon really couldn’t hit Huai Boshe. He had to upgrade his weapon and increase the number of barrels. He kept shouting “Stop fighting!” while continuing to condense twelve fireballs to blast Huai Boshe.

“So, I’m asking you one more time: what happened that day?” Huai Boshe controlled the sea of white sand to extinguish the crushing flames as he approached Ji Xiaobo, asking in a cold voice.

Ji Xiaobo’s eyes were bloodshot. “You’ll never know! Because of you, do you have any idea what Yingzhi went through that day!”

“You two were supposedly such good brothers, growing up together since you were small. It’s rare for Yingzhi to seek your help, yet you weren’t even willing to ask him why just because you didn’t want to be disturbed while spending time alone with his sister?” Yu Feiwen said with red eyes.

“If you had just asked a single question, that wouldn’t have happened!” Jing Haomiao added furiously.

Yun Yingzhi’s brain was a bit dazed. On one hand, he felt embarrassed, worried that the events of that day would really become known to everyone. On the other hand, he was worried that his three roommates, who were standing up for him, would be hurt by Huai Boshe.

Realizing that Huai Boshe’s ability completely countered the fireball skill in his source weapon, Yun Yingzhi rolled up his sleeves, clenched his fists, and charged directly at Huai Boshe.

Yun Yingzhi decided to use both long-range and close-quarters combat. If that still didn’t work, then… then he’d transform into a rabbit! He’d hit Huai Boshe as much as he could!

Seeing this, the students in the crowd were shocked. One student shouted at the top of his lungs:

“Huai Boshe! Don’t you dare hurt our battle-rabbit!”

The voice was so loud it shook the heavens.

Yun Yingzhi, who had already rolled up his sleeves and was charging forward bravely, felt a heat flush across his cheeks and came to a halt.

With Yun Yingzhi’s reaction, the chaotic venue fell into a brief moment of suspension. Everyone’s gaze focused primarily on three people: Yun Yingzhi, Huai Boshe, and the student who had shouted “battle-rabbit.”

Being the center of attention made Yun Yingzhi a bit flustered. He said, “I… I’m not. I’m not that… that battle-rabbit who spins in circles.” His already red face flushed even deeper.

The students looked at him with suspicion.

The student who had shouted “battle-rabbit” paused for a moment before roaring even louder:

“He… he is! Our battle-rabbit—no, wait—I mean, our School Beauty is clearly someone who couldn’t even truss a chicken, yet he’s rolled up his sleeves with his weak hands. Everyone, protect our School Beauty!”

At this moment, the vast majority of students believed that Yun Yingzhi was absolutely the battle-rabbit from the Yaoming Battle Arena. However, that didn’t stop them from thinking that their School Beauty was incredibly frail! This was the inherent perception they had always held of him.

Another student in the crowd shouted, “Everyone, protect our battle-rabbit!”

Following those words, a student actually transformed into his second form—a massive wolf—and let out an ear-piercing howl.

As the howl echoed, more and more students transformed into their second forms. Yun Yingzhi once again condensed twelve fire cannons, aiming them at Huai Boshe.

Just as the scene was about to spiral into total chaos, members of the disciplinary committee finally arrived.

Upon closer inspection, the leader of the committee was Wei Yuanqing.

A gentle smile bloomed on Wei Yuanqing’s face as he issued an order: “Arrest all the troublemakers.”

The next moment, Wei Yuanqing’s pressure as a Grade 8 ability warrior descended upon them.

Huai Boshe was fine, but Yu Feiwen and the other two didn’t dare act out under this pressure.

The students discovered that several disciplinary squads had been deployed this time. Huai Boshe, Yu Feiwen, the other four, and all those who had charged into the fray to protect Yun Yingzhi were arrested.

Literally arrested.

As for Yun Yingzhi and some of those who had transformed into their second forms, they were restrained by the disciplinary students.

Outside the crowd, the students who had intended to join the fight but hadn’t yet had the chance breathed a sigh of relief.

They thought: Lucky we didn’t act yet.

Yun Yingzhi was being watched by a disciplinary student, and he felt quite unwell.

He felt this was a clear case of differential treatment.

Look at the other students?

Huai Boshe had three disciplinary members watching him, and the other students had two each. Only he had a single disciplinary student assigned to watch him.

Generally, the stronger the individual, the more force was needed to restrain them. Since Yun Yingzhi was weak, his supervision was naturally lax.

Wei Yuanqing’s gaze swept around, and his smiling eyes happened to meet Yun Yingzhi’s.

Yun Yingzhi’s eyelids twitched.

Suddenly, a gasp went up from outside the crowd.

The chaotic cafeteria automatically parted to reveal a path. Prince Elvis, wearing the uniform of the Fourth Year Chief of the Combat Department, walked in.

The moment he entered, he became the focus of everyone’s attention.

Elvis looked directly at Yun Yingzhi.

Yun Yingzhi’s already hot cheeks burned even hotter, and his exposed skin flushed red. He instinctively averted his gaze from Elvis.

He thought of the heart of the problem.

He… had slept with the Prince…

And he had stolen the Prince’s clothes and fled, leading to…

The Prince possibly being forced to go streaking.

Yun Yingzhi’s heart went thump-thump-thump. As a citizen of the Empire, he felt he was practically committing treason.

Elvis, who had just entered the cafeteria, looked at Yun Yingzhi and said, “Release Yingzhi. In this brawl, the little rabbit did nothing.”

The disciplinary students: “…”

The students present: “…”

Did Yun Yingzhi really do nothing?

He had clearly been bombarding Huai Boshe with fire cannons and had even rolled up his sleeves to charge into the center of the fight.

However, that wasn’t the point. The point was—logically speaking—hadn’t Prince Elvis just walked into the cafeteria?

He clearly wasn’t present during the most chaotic moments. From what position was he saying Yun Yingzhi had done nothing?

Subtly, they remembered what they’d heard before. They heard that on the night of the mixer, Prince Elvis had looked at his little pet and said: What fault could a little rabbit possibly have?

The students’ expressions became very complex. They, along with the disciplinary members watching Yun Yingzhi, instinctively looked toward Wei Yuanqing.

Wei Yuanqing was the Commander-in-Chief of the disciplinary committee.

Wei Yuanqing followed Elvis’s gaze to Yun Yingzhi and issued an order: “Indeed. In this brawl, Yingzhi did nothing. Release him.”

The disciplinary students: “…”

The students present: “…”

While it was a bit surreal…

Come to think of it, there was nothing wrong with it. What fault could a little rabbit possibly have?

But it had to be said that compared to Yun Yingzhi, those students who had merely transformed into their second forms were truly being wronged. And if you thought about it carefully, wasn’t the main reason this group fight occurred because of Yun Yingzhi?

Wei Yuanqing added, “Take away all these troublemaking students.”

The disciplinary members followed the order in unison.

The disciplinary committee held absolute privilege at Fanse Academy. Unless necessary, no student would attempt to resist them—and this included Huai Boshe.

Huai Boshe remained relatively calm, while some other students marched forward with their heads hanging low.
