Chapter 14: Instructor Yu, You Dropped Your Dog! Part 1
After Han Po’s unexpected injury, the class was canceled. The others were temporarily assigned physical training, while the relevant parties were taken to the Principal’s office.
Everyone walked out of the teaching building, chatting in groups of three or five.
“Do you guys know what happened? I was just watching the show, and suddenly they started fighting.”
“I was in the back row and didn’t see clearly. Did Old Tang hit Little Fish? I think I saw blood on the ground.”
“What kind of eyes do you have? It was clearly Brother Ren who stabbed Old Tang. I didn’t expect him to actually get physical. Hey, Yi-zi, do you know why he hit Old Tang?”
Zhao Yi worriedly said, “How should I know! I was secretly taking a video when something flew past, grazing my face. What the hell was that, fuck me. Han Po screamed like a pig being slaughtered; I nearly had a heart attack. My communicator screen got smashed. Who’s gonna compensate me for my screen?!”
They gossiped all at once. Qi Huan was anxious, “This is bad. The Director won’t be punished, will he?”
Xu Bohan said, “Don’t talk nonsense. Xie Ren did this. What does it have to do with my master? If anyone gets disciplined, it’ll be him.”
Principal’s Officeโ
The perpetrator leaned carelessly against the back of the chair, long legs crossed, occasionally twirling the “weapon” in his hand. His expression was surprisingly relaxed and idle, as if the matter didn’t concern him.
Everyone else sat upright, their faces clouded with worry.
Sitting around the conference table were a stern-faced Tang Jiadong, Han Po wailing while surrounded by bodyguards and doctors, and Yu Shi with slightly furrowed brows and a pale face.
The scene carried a hint of strangeness.
“It hurts, hurts, hurts, hurts! Fuck, so hard, are you trying to kill me! It hurts to death!” Han Po roared loudly.
Chen Qingming comforted him, “Let’s treat it simply first, then we’ll fill it with healing agent later. Don’t move around, or it will tear again.”
“Is it my fault for moving? It’s all his fault!” Han Po said angrily, “Uncle Tang, you must give me justice today. This son of a bitch wants my life! in broad daylight and under everyone’s eyes, he dared to lay such a vicious hand on me. If there were no bodyguards, that arrow would have stuck in my neck! I might have died on the spot!”
Tang Jiadong persuaded, “Alright, alright, quiet down. Rest well since you’re injured. Xie Ren, what you did was indeed wrong. No matter what, you shouldn’t have been so heavy-handed. Apologize to him first.”
“I don’t need an apology! If apologies were useful, what would we need the police for? I want to poke a hole in his hand too!” Han Po said viciously.
Tang Jiadong glared at him warningly and softened his tone. “Xie Ren, hurry up and apologize.”
Xie Ren sneered. “Idiot, this is a pen, not an arrow. I went very light on you, otherwise, you would have been skewered through long ago. Want to touch my hand? I’ll give you the guts. Come at me, let’s see who ends up on the floor first.”
Yu Shi: “…”
Tang Jiadong: “…”
Han Po exploded on the spot, rolling up his sleeves to fight him to the death. “Fuck your ancestors, Xie Ren! No one stop me, I’m going to make him leave this room sideways today!”
Chen Qingming silently removed the hand pressing on his shoulder, signaling that no one was stopping him.
The air was briefly silent.
Han Po sat back down without a word, gritting his teeth. “Anyway, I want him to pay the price! Uncle Tang, according to school rules, heavily injuring a high-ranking Alpha leads to expulsion. You can’t shield him!”
“According to school rules, you would have been expelled a hundred times over,” Xie Ren said faintly. “Do you want me to bring out the evidence? The surveillance records from the east storage room of the teaching building should still be there. Did you forget how you almost forcibly marked someone?”
“Bullshit! You… don’t throw dirty water on me! I’ve never done such illegal and undisciplined things!”
Yu Shi looked at him thoughtfully. Han Po was so agitated his face turned red.
Tang Jiadong couldn’t stand it anymore. “Shut up, all of you! You are truly lawless! Chen Qingming, take Han Po to treat the wound. Xie Ren, you are responsible for his medical expenses and one month of community service. You each take a step back. Any objections?”
Xie Ren quit while he was ahead and spread his hands indifferently.
Han Po was furious. “Why should we just let it go like this? Did I agree to take a step back? He poked a hole in my hand, a hole! What if he wants my life one day? I can’t just let this go!”
Tang Jiadong signaled with his eyes. Bodyguards on each side carried him out, Han Po’s foul cursing fading away.
He sighed helplessly. “This kid has been used to running wild since childhood. It’s not like you don’t know his nature.”
“And you, acting too impulsively. His hidden guards aren’t just for show. What if you really hurt each other? His dad is coming to the school tomorrow. You kid just keep causing me trouble!”
Yu Shi faintly felt that Tang Jiadong was yielding a bit excessively.
Although Xie Ren wasn’t under his command, for a General to speak to a junior in this tone seemed a bit strange.
Xie Ren snorted coldly, his face full of disdain.
Yu Shi spoke up, “Principal Tang, I’ll pay the medical expenses.”
Both of them froze. Xie Ren looked at him in disbelief.
Yu Shi’s expression was calm. “I also bear responsibility for this matter. It can’t all be blamed on Xie Ren. I will transfer the fees to Han Po’s family.”
Moreover, Xie Ren has no money.
Destitute.
Tang Jiadong said surprisingly, “Look at that! Instructor Yu understands the big picture. It’s most appropriate for you to handle this. It gives an explanation to the Tang family and leaves them no reason to make trouble. Little Xie, having such a responsible instructor is your blessing. Behave yourself from now on!”
Yu Shi said leisurely, “However, Han Po has failed this course. I won’t let him make up the leave request, unless you believe he crawled twenty thousand steps on his hands.”
“I want him to write a thousand-word self-reflection and read it in public tomorrow. You have no objections, right?”
Principal Tang: “…”
It was an illusion just now. How could I think this Omega was easy to talk to?
Xie Ren’s mouth slowly curved upwards. After a few seconds, it curved up a bit more, glancing at Yu Shi from time to time.
He was used to charging to the front lines, whether on the battlefield or in life, always protecting others. Today was the first time he tasted the feeling of being protected.
Not bad.
And this person just happened to be the instructor he wasn’t very familiar with.
During the afternoon class, the interrupted lot-drawing continued.
For the sake of fairness, three candidates were randomly selected to go up. One called start and stop, and the other two were responsible for pressing the keys. The optical computer would group them with one click.
Zhao Yi scrambled to raise his hand. “Pick me, pick me! I won fifty bucks on a scratch-off yesterday. My luck is insanely good.”
Others also raised their hands. Xie Ren wasn’t interested. Chin in hand, he asked Xu Ze next to him, “You’ve been in quite a few relationships. Under what circumstances would an Omega proactively advance money for an Alpha?”
Xu Ze’s brain spun fast. “Boss, are you being pursued by an Omega?”
Xie Ren froze.
Xu Ze: “Where the love is, the money is. If not pursuing you, what else could it be?”
Xie Ren went stiff all over. “…Bullshit. I think there’s something wrong with your head.”
Xu Ze chuckled. “With your looks, being pursued is normal. You’re on missions year-round, otherwise, a pile of Omegas would have chased you long ago.”
“Get lost.” Xie Ren’s voice lowered. “Anyone could chase him, but it’s impossible for him to chase…”
He really couldn’t help it; his eyes drifted toward Yu Shi.
Does someone who looks like this need to chase anyone?
Zhao Yi nervously shouted “Start.” Under everyone’s gaze, the first group appeared on the big screen.
D1: Xie Ren, Zhao Yi, Zhou Jiahao, Li Mufan…
Zhao Yi blew a kiss to the sky happily. “YES! I’m too awesome. What did I say? NDU’s number one lucky hand lives up to its name!”
Before his voice fell, Ye Bingyang scrolled down the screen and said in shock, “And… Alpha Dog 9527? Why is it the 95 series again? Didn’t they upgrade it?”
A commotion erupted below. Xie Ren looked up and cursed, “Fuck, we’re done for.”
