Chapter 7: The Bullet Hit Xie Ren Right in the Heart part 1
Li Yang finally realized that this was no longer a “friendly exchange.” Seeing the situation turn sour, he quickly followed them as they left the playground.
Yu Shi asked him, “How does the firearms competition work?”
Li Yang’s head hurt. “No, are you really going? I didn’t finish speaking earlier. Although Tuberose was built with school investment, the bar is in the alley by the back gate. Even civilians can get in. It’s quite chaotic there. As an Omega, you absolutely shouldn’t go alone.”
“Do students from our class often go there to play?”
“Yes,” Li Yang said, biting the bullet. “They hold competitions every week, competing in stripping and assembling guns for speed. I heard the winner can make the loser do one thing… Instructor Yu, I have to remind you, that group has no limits when they go crazy.”
He paused for a moment, then lowered his voice. “Not just anyone can enter the Command Class. Many have family backgrounds that are either rich or noble. It’s better if we don’t provoke them.”
Yu Shi saw his lowered head and frowned. “Does having a background mean they can ignore discipline? If they dared to treat you like that, they must pay the price for their actions.”
Li Yang froze. “You… how do you know about my matter…”
Last year, a student named Han Po locked him in the restroom for two hours and threw in a tube of catalyst just because Li Yang scolded him a few times, nearly triggering his susceptibility period.
Han Po had a prominent family background, so the matter was left unsettled, without even a disciplinary warning.
His fox friends took pride in this, posting it on the school forum to mock him. Yu Shi had scrolled past it while researching the school’s history.
Han Po had been accidentally injured a few days ago and took a week off; he wouldn’t return to class until next week.
Yu Shi patted his shoulder. “This kind of silk-pants rich kid definitely has indulgent parents behind him. What his parents didn’t teach him, I will.”
His gaze was so calm that his words frightened Li Yang, who stared at him blankly in disbelief, not snapping out of it until Yu Shi had walked away.
Xu Bohan grinned at Li Yang showing his teeth. “Don’t be so surprised. My master always keeps his word. Who doesn’t have a background? Just wait and see.”
Command Academy, Dormitory Building, Second Floor.
A group of Alphas was washing up, making a racket like they were in kindergarten.
Someone asked, “How was your night out?”
“Brilliant beyond belief. You missed out big time.”
“Damn, you’re bluffing, right? How brilliant could it be? Did an Omega go up and pole dance for you?”
“Hahahaha, more explosive than a pole dance. You can’t even imagine.”
Xu Ze poked Zhao Yi, his mouth full of toothpaste foam. “Yi-zi, tell him. In the few seconds you were beaten down by Instructor Little Yu, did you think of that Omega who splashed water on your face last time?”
“Screw you, get lost.” Zhao Yi grabbed a bar of soap and stuffed it into his mouth.
“Fuck, why are you pretending!” Xu Ze grabbed his head and put it in a headlock. “Didn’t you touch Instructor Little Yu’s face? How did it feel? Speak!”
Zhao Yi thought seriously for a moment, then laughed heihei. “Slippery, like tofu. Remember the silken tofu we ate yesterday? Soft and slippery, just like that texture.”
“Rebelling against heaven, aren’t you? You’re actually describing it!”
“Hahahaha, consider it a perk for the kid.”
“Zhao Dog is truly vulgar. Look how pleased he is!”
Zhao Yi grunted, “I deserved it. He beat me so hard, what’s wrong with touching his little face… Ahhh! Who sneak-attacked me?!”
He was sticking his butt out when he was caught off guard by a kick to the rear, plunging straight into the sink and splashing water all over his face.
Xu Ze stammered, “…Brother Ren, w-when did you get here?”
Xie Ren was wearing a training vest with a towel around his neck, looking like he was about to shower.
He narrowed his eyes and scanned the room. “Gossiping here when you have free time? Seems you didn’t practice enough tonight. Class 1, everyone go down and run ten kilometers. Now.”
Military school hierarchy was strict. Although they were in the same year, Xie Ren, as the Commander, was their superior in a practical sense.
Zhao Yi was instantly terrified. “No, Boss! We just ran ten kilometers this afternoon…”
“I said, go now.” Xie Ren said coldly.
Once he stopped smiling, everyone realized it was bad and silently went downstairs to run laps.
Zhao Yi stammered, “I was wrong, I won’t spout nonsense anymore. D-Don’t get angry, watch your hand injury. Um, the healing spray is on the nightstand…”
“Get out.” Xie Ren frowned, and Zhao Yi scampered off immediately.
After sending away the group of ruffians, Xie Ren returned to his room and opened the nightstand. There was indeed a bottle of healing spray inside.
He thought of the red marks on Yu Shi’s face. Zhao Yi had hit without restraint; the skin was likely broken.
Tsk, delicate, tender-skinned Omegas are just trouble.
The medicine was mixed with spearmint. The scent drifted from the nozzle, faint and pleasant.
He couldn’t help but press his lips together and think: What would Yu Shi’s pheromones smell like?
Yu Shi had just finished showering when his communicator beeped a few times. A Pink Cannonball chat box popped up at the top.
He remembered then that he had logged off halfway through the chat with Thank You Whole Family last time and hadn’t had time to look at the photo of the Blue King Kong.
He logged into the app, and then was speechless for a full minute at the image that loaded.
The so-called Blue King Kong turned out to be a parrot with magnificent plumage.
It stood on the bird stand with a haughty, arrogant expression.
[Thank You Whole Family: Good looking, right? I bought this purebred for a high price. It has a wife too, arriving next week.]
Yu Shi pressed his forehead, thinking for a few seconds that he should just give up.
He really couldn’t find common ground with this person. Even finding a “money Alpha” wouldn’t require suffering like this.
[Thank You Whole Family: Little Yu Doesn’t Eat Fish, you’re online. Hehe, good evening.]
But he was so sincere…
So sincere that it was hard to say anything harsh.
Yu Shi pinched the bridge of his nose. Just as he was about to type, another message popped up.
[Thank You Whole Family: I’m in Summer Training these days, so I can’t chat with you anytime. How have you been recently? I rarely hear you mention your own affairs.]
Yu Shi’s expression changed slightly. [Your school has Summer Training too?]
The other side replied: [Yes, military schools should all have it.]
There were two military schools in Zone 1. The other was the University of Chemical Defense, and he had never heard of them having Summer Training.
Yu Shi wore a thoughtful expression.
At that moment, a knock sounded at the door.
Qi Huan said, “Director Yu, it’s me, Qi Huan. I saw your message.”
Yu Shi turned off his communicator. “Come in.”
Qi Huan pushed the door open, holding a medicinal spray bottle. “I found this at your door. Is it the healing spray you bought?”
Yu Shi glanced at it. Qi Huan added, “Wait, it seems to have been opened.”
“Someone probably threw it away earlier.” Yu Shi pointed to the corner. “The trash can is over there.”
Qi Huan obediently went over and threw it away. Yu Shi handed him the documents on the desk.
“I have something for you to do. I applied to record student physical data. Go back and memorize the precautions. You will be responsible for the recording and analysis work from now on.”
Qi Huan was suddenly overjoyed. “This is all S-class Alpha data. Heavens, Director, you’re too amazing to get your hands on this!”
He reached out to take it, but Yu Shi didn’t let go. Instead, he looked at him and said, “If data leaks occur, the light sentence is three to five years, and the heavy one is rotting in prison. Do you understand?”
Qi Huan nodded repeatedly. “Of course I understand. Although… maybe in your eyes, my ability isn’t quite enough, but I will definitely strictly abide by the confidentiality regulations. Please rest assured! I-I’m just too excited. I didn’t expect you to hand such important work to me. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I will double my efforts in the future.”
Yu Shi let go, allowing him to hug the stack of papers like a treasure. “Not ‘in the future,’ but starting tomorrow.”
“What?” Qi Huan was surprised. “Doesn’t the combat class start next month?”
Yu Shi said, “Did I say we’re only recording combat classes? Tomorrow night, you and Little Xu come with me to Tuberose. Bring the recorders.”
Physical data during combat was especially valuable for Alphas. Fighting Zhao Yi yesterday, he noticed the pheromones fluctuating constantly, which would be very helpful for studying pheromone connection.
A ready-made opportunity; it would be a waste not to use it.
