Chapter 7
The crew of “Celebrity Love” had already been waiting at the airport.
As soon as Su Jue, Ji Muyulan, Ning Nan, Qi An, and the others appeared, the cameras started rolling.
“Everyone, you’ve worked hard. The location for this show is a private island; we’ve rented it out. There’s even a castle there, and you’ll be living in the castle. We’ll take a yacht there later,” Li Xiang explained to Su Jue and the others.
Qi An listened and laughed, “You guys are pretty generous this time. Weren’t you always so stingy before?”
“The sponsor, Lin’s Enterprise, is exceptionally generous,” Li Xiang smiled.
Qi An looked at Lin Lai. So it was because of her.
“Everyone, you’re all quite familiar with each other. The two new additions are newcomers: Fang Hua, a very popular fresh meat, and Lin Lai, a rookie. Everyone, welcome them! Use this time to get to know each other. And we’re starting to record now.”
“Miss Lin, long time no see,” Su Jue extended her hand to Lin Lai.
“Long time no see,” Lin Lai smiled.
Ji Muyulan curiously glanced at Lin Lai, “A Jue, do you know her?”
“She’s the younger sister of the head of Lin’s Enterprise. I’ve met her a few times before,” Su Jue whispered.
“A wealthy heiress! But all you rich people coming into the entertainment industry… are you leaving any room for others?” Ji Muyulan said.
“…”
On the other side, Ning Nan started chatting with Fang Hua and Zhong Haoli.
When the yacht arrived, Qi An and the others boarded.
“The scenery here is beautiful,” Qi An said, feeling the sea breeze.
The sky was a clear blue, with birds flying low in the sky. The sea was calm, with the occasional fish jumping out. Not far away was an island, its vegetation lush and green.
“I often come here. The environment is truly beautiful,” Lin Lai said beside her.
“So the location the program team chose was provided by your family?”
“Yes, my brother bought this island and gave it to me as a birthday present.”
“Your brother is so good to you,” Qi An exclaimed.
“No wonder the program team has the money to rent it.”
“My brother is the best to me,” Lin Lai said happily.
Seeing Qi An and Lin Lai admiring the scenery, Zhong Haoli slowly approached.
“An An, do you like it here? If you do, I can bring you here often. I even have a submarine.”
Zhong Haoli tried to strike up a conversation with Qi An.
“Really? Too bad it’s too late. Lin Lai will bring me here. Unless you buy the island from Lin Lai.”
Qi An pointed to the island in the distance and looked at Zhong Haoli with amusement.
“Mr. Zhong, are you going to buy it?” Lin Lai tilted her head and looked at Zhong Haoli.
Zhong Haoli looked at the island in the distance, his eyes twitching. If he bought it, his father would definitely beat him up.
“No, I won’t steal someone else’s treasure,” Zhong Haoli forced a smile.
“Miss Lin, please give my regards to Chairman Lin.”
“Okay,” Lin Lai said indifferently.
At this time, Ning Nan and Fang Hua came over with some drinks.
“Do you want some orange juice?”
“I’ll take one.”
Qi An walked towards Ning Nan, took a glass of juice, and looked at Ning Nan, “Thank you, Brother Nan.”
“You’re welcome,” Ning Nan said heartily.
“Brother Nan, do you mind if I ask a question?”
“What question? As long as it doesn’t involve privacy.”
“Brother Nan, who do you prefer to be paired with?”
Qi An looked at Ning Nan with interest, and Ning Nan smiled faintly, appearing quite shy.
“I’m not sure. It mainly depends on the feeling. When you feel it, fate arrives.”
“So Brother Nan believes in fate? But Brother Nan, do you have an ideal type?” Qi An continued.
“Ideal type? I hope my other half is gentle and considerate, has long hair, doesn’t need to be too beautiful, but also not too ugly. After all, I hope our future children will be cute,” Ning Nan joked.
Of the women present, only Su Jue met this description. Was this an indirect confession?
“Brother Nan’s requirements are quite ordinary. I’m definitely not Brother Nan’s ideal type, because I’m neither gentle nor considerate,” Qi An said with narrowed eyes.
“Qi An, you’re joking. You’re a woman who dares to love and hate, a very good woman,” Ning Nan said.
“Oh, Brother Nan is not bad. You’ve learned how to give out ‘friend zone’ cards.”
“Likewise.”
Zhong Haoli watched coldly as Qi An chatted happily with Ning Nan.
This woman was actually flirting with other men right in front of him.
Qi An looked at Ning Nan, who didn’t show any flaws. As expected of a veteran actor, his acting was excellent.
Ning Nan looked at Fang Hua beside him, “Fang Hua, what’s your ideal type?”
Fang Hua scratched his head and said shyly, “I like women with good figures, and who sing beautifully.”
At this time, Ji Muyulan and Su Jue also came over, and Fang Hua’s gaze immediately fixated on Ji Muyulan.
Seeing this, Ning Nan pulled Fang Hua aside and whispered, “Your ideal type is here. Do you want to go talk to her? I’ll accompany you.”
“Brother Nan, you’ll help me?” Fang Hua said nervously.
“Of course.”
Brother Nan patted Fang Hua’s shoulder.
“Two beautiful ladies, would you like some juice?” Ning Nan said with a tray of drinks.
“Thank you,” Su Jue accepted a juice and thanked him.
“It’s my pleasure,” Ning Nan said politely.
“Brother Nan, when did you start working as a waiter?” Ji Muyulan joked.
“Since I met two beautiful ladies,” Ning Nan said humorously.
Ning Nan secretly glanced at Su Jue, finding that she didn’t react particularly. Getting Su Jue to notice him was really difficult.
“By the way, Queen Ji, this is Fang Hua. He’s a fan of yours,” Ning Nan pushed Fang Hua forward.
Fang Hua looked at Ji Muyulan excitedly, “Queen Ji, I like you, no, I like your songs. Could you sign an autograph for me?”
“Of course. Where should I sign?” Ji Muyulan smiled.
“On my clothes,” Fang Hua said expectantly.
“Alright.”
Lin Lai, seeing this, felt extremely jealous.
Qi An nudged Lin Lai, “It’s your turn. That Fang Hua is your rival. You should go get an autograph too. You’re a girl, you have a natural advantage; you can ask for a hug, you can ask for a photo.”
Upon hearing Qi An’s words, Lin Lai’s eyes lit up.
“Sister Qi, you’re really experienced. It’s great to know you.”
Qi An watched Lin Lai run to Ji Muyulan to get an autograph, twitching the corner of her mouth.
Where did she get the impression that she was experienced?
“Zhong Haoli,” Qi An suddenly called out.
“An An, what’s wrong?”
Zhong Haoli was surprised and delighted when Qi An suddenly called him. Was she finally going to acknowledge him?
Qi An slowly approached Zhong Haoli, her eyes full of coldness.
“Don’t call me An An. Stop with your tricks. I know exactly who you are. Please call me Qi An in the future. It would be even better if you could just ignore me.”
“Zhong Haoli, you wouldn’t be trying to humiliate me, hoping to chase me and then dump me, would you? Or did you bet with your buddies that you’d definitely chase me down? I’m guessing right, aren’t I?”
Qi An looked straight into Zhong Haoli’s eyes, psychologically pressuring him.
Zhong Haoli’s pupils constricted, his heart sinking. How did she guess?
“Looks like I guessed right. Only someone as brainless as you would think of this.”
Qi An, seeing Zhong Haoli’s reaction, knew her rambling guess was correct. Using various Mary Sue tropes, she actually guessed right. She could only say, as expected of the male lead?
Zhong Haoli looked at Qi An’s deep eyes, feeling like he was completely exposed, every secret revealed. His hair stood on end.
“Brother Nan seems to need help. I’ll go take a look,” Zhong Haoli chose to retreat for now.
The cameraman had already captured this scene.
“Director, should we delete this in post-production?” The assistant asked.
“No, we want authenticity,” the director said with a smile.
After getting rid of Zhong Haoli, Qi An began to observe Su Jue, who also raised her head at that moment, meeting Qi An’s gaze.
Su Jue was chatting with Ning Nan about a TV drama she was about to film, but she couldn’t help but think about the kiss on the plane. She saw from the corner of her eye that Qi An and Zhong Haoli were talking.
What are they talking about? This was Su Jue’s first thought.
What do they talk about have to do with her? Su Jue shook her head. She seemed to be overthinking things lately.
But she couldn’t help but look over, just as Qi An smiled at her.
Su Jue smiled back politely and naturally turned back to talk to Ning Nan.
It seemed like it was just an accident. Ning Nan, who was relatively close to Su Jue, thought so.
Ning Nan, who had been secretly observing Su Jue, noticed that her facial expressions rarely changed; she was always indifferent. Only when she was acting did he see a different side to her.
Su Jue had already broken off her engagement with Zhong Haoli and currently had no romantic partners. Only Qi An had publicly confessed, but she was just a woman, no threat. Moreover, Zhong Haoli was still clinging to Qi An. As long as he persisted, he could win Su Jue over, and he could take a step closer to becoming the head of Su’s Enterprise.
Ning Nan hid his ambitions, subtly drawing closer to Su Jue.
Lin Lai happily came before Ji Muyulan, “Queen Ji, I’m also a fan of yours! I’ve bought all your albums; my favorite is ‘Thousand Paper Cranes’! Could you sign for me?”
Lin Lai took out an album from her bag.
Ji Muyulan saw that the album was a limited edition, so this wealthy heiress was a true fan.
“Of course.”
Ji Muyulan was very kind to her true fans; as for Fang Hua, she could tell at a glance he was a fake fan.
“Can I take a picture with you?” Lin Lai asked shyly.
Looking at the innocent Lin Lai, Ji Muyulan’s mood inexplicably brightened, and she took the initiative to pull Lin Lai closer.
“Come on, smile at the camera.”
Lin Lai was thrilled by this unexpected surprise. Getting so close to Ji Muyulan, Lin Lai’s mouth stretched wide.
Sister Qi, you’re such a good person! Asking you for help was the right decision. Sister Qi, thank you so much.
