Chapter 42: Gui Gui is more handsome than a flying machine.
Hearing that the foam might get in his eyes, Mu Mu obediently squeezed his eyes shut, his upper and lower eyelids bunching together like two puffy little buns.
Feeling this wasn’t enough, he reached his small hands out of the water, shook them vigorously, and cupped his eyes with his palms, his fingers curled.
Yan Gui Xing, splashed with water, looked at Mu Mu’s added precaution with an amused and helpless expression. He thought to himself, this little rascal has so little trust in him! It’s just washing hair; how could he possibly get foam in his eyes?
He thought this, but since he rarely bathed others, he felt a little unsure and his movements became even more careful.
Even when rinsing the foam from Mu Mu’s hair, he held the showerhead very close to his scalp, avoiding splashing much water on his forehead.
Yan Gui Xing touched Mu Mu’s cheeks, now a light pink from the heat, with a foam-covered finger. “I’m asking you, is there anywhere that feels uncomfortable?”
“My lower back ached a little when I got up, and…there was a little discomfort there,” Mu Mu replied. “But it felt much better after soaking in the hot water.”
Yan Gui Xing felt relieved. He found Mu Mu compatible with him in every way; even if he was a little silly or clumsy, it didn’t matter.
After all, people’s preferences are different. Some people like intelligent pets, but Yan Gui Xing preferred beautiful little fools.
After washing Mu Mu’s hair, Yan Gui Xing let him play in the tub by himself. He then undressed, quickly showered and washed his own hair under the showerhead, before joining Mu Mu in the bath.
When Yan Gui Xing entered the tub, the water had cooled considerably. He glanced at the control panel embedded in the wall, then at Mu Mu, who was happily playing with the water with his back to him, and decided against reheating it.
On Wu Hui Xing (presumably a planet or location), even having a hot bath was a problem, let alone soaking in a clean, comfortable bathtub.
Because of his childhood experiences, Yan Gui Xing had specifically chosen an oversized bathtub during the renovation—one so large that even five of him wouldn’t feel cramped.
Of course, this bathtub was practically a miniature swimming pool.
Mu Mu was playing in one corner, while Yan Gui Xing sat in the other, making this a far-from-romantic couple’s bath.
Yan Gui Xing slightly regretted choosing such a large bathtub. If it were a normal-sized one, Mu Mu would be sitting in his lap right now.
Despite these thoughts, Yan Gui Xing had no intention of doing anything in the bathtub. Though he could be reckless, he didn’t usually do so in the water.
It wasn’t that he had any trauma associated with it; he simply didn’t like it.
Yan Gui Xing closed his eyes, leaning against the side of the tub, and waited until Mu Mu had finished splashing around before calling him over, applying body wash, and then rinsing him off under the shower.
Afterwards, he used a bath towel to lift Mu Mu onto the large marble countertop of the vanity. Too lazy to dry himself thoroughly, he haphazardly wrapped a towel around his waist and pulled out a hair dryer to dry Mu Mu’s hair.
Of course, drying his hair wasn’t the end; there was still the matter of getting him dressed.
However, at this stage, Yan Gui Xing’s inexperience became apparent: he’d forgotten to bring Mu Mu’s clothes into the bathroom.
No matter, the marble would get cold if he sat there too long. He simply wrapped Mu Mu in the bath towel and carried him out of the bathroom, placing him on the sofa in the outer room.
The two thick bath towels rubbed the already-dried child up and down once again, with rough movements that closely resembled drying off a pet dog after a bath.
He used two thick bath towels to dry the already-dried child again, his rough movements resembling those of someone drying a pet dog after a bath. Mu Mu was very good-natured, not getting angry despite being handled so much by Yan Gui Xing. Only when the waterproof tape on his face was almost rubbed off by the thick towel did he whimper in protest.
Yan Gui Xing finally threw away the towels and dressed Mu Mu in a bright yellow short-sleeved shirt and white shorts. There were no shoes among the clothes Achi had bought, but there was a pair of cream-colored ankle socks. Achi, with his questionable sense of style, wouldn’t have bought such socks; they were a gift from the shop assistant for buying so much. To put it simply, out of all the clothes Achi bought, the only thing Yan Gui Xing liked was this pair of socks.
Looking at Mu Mu’s pale pink face with a lovely smile, Yan Gui Xing knelt down before him without a word.
Before Mu Mu could express surprise, he lifted Mu Mu’s slightly deformed left foot and placed it on his knee, like a devout follower serving his god.
His warm fingers gently caressed the pale, bruised, and gnarled foot, its veins like branches, as he put on the beige socks. His movements were light, his curved fingers brushing against the smooth skin of Mu Mu’s leg, a subtle flirtation, a hidden suggestion.
Unfortunately, his god did not understand this ambiguity. His god merely looked at his indiscreet little actions with the purest, clearest gaze.
This thought excited Yan Gui Xing. He tightened his grip on the thin leg, adding another circle of ambiguous redness to the bend of the knee.
Looking at the beige socks resting on his knee and the pink skin of Mu Mu’s leg, a rush of warmth surged through him. Impulsively, he leaned down and kissed the injured left knee.
Whether it was a knee-jerk reaction or because Yan Gui Xing’s lips were too hot, Mu Mu’s left leg twitched slightly, and he unconsciously called out, “Gui Gui.”
Yan Gui Xing raised his head, his damp, tousled hair partially obscuring his dark eyes. He looked at Mu Mu, his lips devoid of a smile, his expression calm, his dark eyes both passionate and wild.
Mu Mu’s heart skipped a beat. This time, their roles reversed. He became the follower seduced by an evil god, leaning down to embrace Yan Gui Xing’s neck and offering a kiss.
Yan Gui Xing naturally turned Mu Mu’s initiative into passivity, but he remembered their schedule and only shared a brief, sweet kiss.
Yan Gui Xing’s good mood lasted only until Mu Mu went downstairs. The rather attractive socks were purely aesthetic; they weren’t practical. Mu Mu hadn’t taken two steps before they slipped down.
Mu Mu instinctively bent over to pull up his socks. As he looked down and then up, he stepped on the edge of the stairs. The soles of his slippers were not slip-resistant, and Mu Mu swayed, about to fall.
Fortunately, Yan Gui Xing, who was walking ahead, reacted quickly, grabbing Mu Mu’s arm and pulling him into his embrace, preventing an accident.
Yan Gui Xing’s heart pounded twice as fast, his voice rising in urgency and sharpness. “What’s wrong? Are you hurt anywhere? Are you scared? Does your chest hurt?”
Mu Mu was startled when he almost fell, but he was fine after Yan Gui Xing caught him. As for his broken bones, he was taking the medicine prescribed by Gongsun regularly, so they didn’t hurt.
He shook his head, giving Yan Gui Xing a reassuring smile.
Yan Gui Xing breathed a sigh of relief, ruffled Mu Mu’s hair, and kissed his forehead as a comfort.
He glared at the socks hanging loosely on Mu Mu’s slender legs, muttering a curse under his breath about their uselessness.
The scene had frightened him, fearing that Mu Mu, already injured, might suffer more.
He dared not let Mu Mu walk anymore, picking him up and carrying him to ensure his safety.
Actually, Yan Gui Xing was wrong about the socks. The clothes Achi bought were the wrong size, and the ankle socks the shop assistant gave were also based on the size of those clothes. The result? The socks were too big.
The socks, which should have been snug around Mu Mu’s calves, were pulled up to his knees. The cuff was loose and couldn’t stay up; with the slightest movement, they slipped down.
Yan Gui Xing had considered having Mu Mu wear slippers to the mall, buying suitable shoes before looking at clothes.
But the child’s obedient manner, nestled in his arms, was simply too endearing. Mu Mu was reluctant to let go of this feeling, and Yan Gui Xing silently removed the slipper option.
He didn’t mention it; Mu Mu didn’t think of it; but Achi, following behind, did. However, he had been given several scrutinizing looks by Yan Gui Xing that morning and wanted to disappear, so he didn’t dare say anything.
Therefore, Mu Mu was carried onto the private aircraft by Yan Gui Xing in front of his bodyguards.
This was Mu Mu’s first time on a private aircraft, not counting the time he was knocked unconscious.
He sat cautiously in the middle of the large seat, his small hands clasped nervously in his lap, his feet lifted off the ground, afraid of damaging something. Only his eyes darted around curiously.
Yan Gui Xing, relaxed against the armrest beside Mu Mu, propped his chin on his hand, smiling as he watched Mu Mu’s nervous yet curious expression.
Perhaps it was true that love makes the world beautiful. Yan Gui Xing now found Mu Mu endearing, even his naive country bumpkin demeanor seemed cute. He felt a strong urge to hug him and kiss him.
But Achi was sitting in front, so Yan Gui Xing had to abandon the idea. It wasn’t that he was conservative or cared about others’ feelings; it was simply possessiveness—he didn’t want others to see his little fool’s charming side.
He stared intently at the front seat and sighed softly.
Even if Achi wasn’t very observant, he had been with Yan Gui Xing for so many years and was extremely sensitive to his moods.
He felt a chill down his neck. Hearing the almost inaudible sigh, his hair stood on end, not knowing what else he had done to displease Yan Gui Xing, his heart filled with anxiety.
Yan Gui Xing glanced at Achi before returning his gaze to Mu Mu, propping his chin on one hand and using the index finger of his other hand to tap Mu Mu’s cheek.
Seeing Mu Mu turn to look at him, his eyes bright, he asked, “Why are you only looking at the aircraft and not me? Is the aircraft more handsome than me?”
Yan Gui Xing’s appearance could be considered unparalleled even amongst the many beautiful people in the galaxy. Coupled with his lazy smile, Mu Mu, who hadn’t seen much of the world, was completely captivated, his expression dazed. He nodded subconsciously, then quickly shook his head.
Finally, feeling it wasn’t enough, he leaned towards Yan Gui Xing, his lips pursed, and said seriously and earnestly, “Gui Gui’s aircraft is very handsome, but Gui Gui is more handsome than the aircraft! Gui Gui is the most handsome!”
[Author’s Note]: Today’s Mu Mu is a sweet-talking little angel.
