In front of Yan Gui Xing, Mu Mu never hid his physical imperfections. He hobbled towards Yan Gui Xing, rushing like a little cannonball and collapsing into his arms.
Yan Gui Xing wasn’t prepared and was tackled onto the bed by Mu Mu. Fearing Mu Mu might accidentally fall and hurt himself, he quickly supported his waist, helping him sit comfortably on his chest.
“Why are you running so fast? If you hurt yourself, you’ll cry.”
“Mu Mu is happy! Besides, Gui Gui will catch Mu Mu, you won’t let Mu Mu fall.” Mu Mu cupped Yan Gui Xing’s face, kissing him forcefully twice on the face. Looking into those eyes filled with gentle jade-green, he smiled.
“It’s just like the real thing! So beautiful! Gui Gui, you’re amazing!”
Yan Gui Xing slightly curled his lips. It wasn’t his skill, it was clearly the amusement park’s; they knew how to appeal to people’s emotions.
Of course, he wouldn’t spoil Mu Mu’s mood at this moment. He asked softly, “Do you like it?”
Mu Mu nodded vigorously, his curly hair bouncing, “I like it!” He seemed to have thought of something, and his high spirits visibly plummeted.
He shifted from Yan Gui Xing’s chest to his waist, lying down on his side, his cheek pressed against Yan Gui Xing’s chest. Listening to his strong heartbeat, smelling the mix of his cool fragrance and faint sweat, he pursed his lips and softly murmured.
“Gui Gui is so amazing, you know what Mu Mu likes. But Mu Mu doesn’t know what Gui Gui likes, I can’t do anything for Gui Gui, I can’t prepare any surprises for Gui Gui.”
Perhaps it was the warmth of the person in his arms, or perhaps the room’s fairy-tale-like decor, but Yan Gui Xing’s long-dormant conscience and guilt surfaced.
What a good child, he had disrupted his life, forcibly bringing him into his circle and keeping him like a pet, yet Mu Mu still thought he was perfect.
However, the guilt only lasted a second before disappearing.
A dark shade suddenly appeared in those jade-green eyes, sinking to the bottom, darkening the green to an almost inky shade. The crimson corners of his lips curled into a seductive curve.
Yan Gui Xing reached out, stroking his curly hair, then his back, lingering on his tailbone with intimate and ambiguous touches.
“Who says Mu Mu can’t do anything for me? Some things, only Mu Mu can do.”
Hearing this, Mu Mu immediately perked up, raising his head, his eyes earnest as he looked at Yan Gui Xing, “Gui Gui, tell me, what can Mu Mu do?”
Seeing Mu Mu so easily taken in, the smile on Yan Gui Xing’s lips became even more seductive. He pointed to his lips and said, “Mu Mu kisses me, and I’ll tell you.”
Mu Mu foolishly fell into Yan Gui Xing’s trap, without hesitation lowering his head and pressing against those upturned thin lips.
Initially, it was just a pure kiss. However, one of them had impure thoughts, turning the pure into the ambiguous, and finally into desire.
In the midst of the assault, Mu Mu lost most of his composure, and so he was confusedly trapped between the soft bedding and the firm, hot body.
“Gui Gui?” Mu Mu’s voice was slightly hoarse, its inherent sweetness transformed into a caramel that drove Yan Gui Xing wild.
Yan Gui Xing’s eyes darkened, becoming a chaotic, unclear black. He looked at the pink strawberry nestled in his black hair; his already boiling blood threatened to reach a fever pitch.
His Mu Mu, his little fool, was indeed a sweet and delicious little strawberry.
Yan Gui Xing kissed Mu Mu’s earlobe, hidden in his hair, deliberately using a seductive voice to make his immodest request.
Although he himself felt it was a little excessive for the current Mu Mu, he knew Mu Mu was so obedient, he would certainly agree.
Yan Gui Xing buried his face in Mu Mu’s neck, his eyes narrowed, like a lazy wild beast, waiting for his foolish prey to fall into his trap.
Ten seconds, twenty seconds, a minute. The heat cooled, the amorous atmosphere dissipated, and Yan Gui Xing still didn’t receive a response from Mu Mu.
The smile at the corner of his lips faded slightly. He wondered if he had upset Mu Mu, whether he should coax him. But when he sat up and met Mu Mu’s bewildered black eyes, his heart sank.
“Gui Gui?” The noise in his ear made Mu Mu uncomfortably tilt his head, pressing his left ear against the blanket and rubbing it vigorously. His speech was even more slurred than usual.
Yan Gui Xing suddenly realized something was wrong. He stared at Mu Mu, trying to find something unusual on his face.
The buzzing of the electrical current in Mu Mu’s ear finally stopped, but instead of the expected return to normal, there was silence.
He uncomfortably tilted his head, rubbing his ear against the soft blanket, asking indistinctly, “Gui Gui, are you talking?”
Yan Gui Xing narrowed his eyes, suddenly understanding the problem. He raised his voice slightly, calling Mu Mu’s name.
Mu Mu saw from his peripheral vision that Yan Gui Xing’s lips were moving and slowly realized he was calling his name.
He withdrew his hand, forcefully pressing his ear, saying worriedly, “It’s over, my hearing aid seems to have broken, why can’t I hear anything again?”
Mu Mu grasped Yan Gui Xing’s wrist, vaguely saying, “I’m sorry, Gui Gui, I can’t hear what you’re saying. Why don’t you just… do it, okay?”
Okay? Of course not! He wasn’t some tyrannical bully who disregarded the feelings of the person in his arms, only caring about his own enjoyment.
Yan Gui Xing felt like a bucket of cold water had been thrown onto a pile of burning coals; the residual heat remained, but his enthusiasm was gone.
Anxiety and frustration brought out the suppressed rage he usually kept hidden, swirling around him, but he quickly suppressed it.
Aware of his emotional change, fearing he might scare Mu Mu, Yan Gui Xing bent down and carried him toward the bathroom, preventing him from seeing his expression.
Mu Mu sat on the edge of the sink, watching Yan Gui Xing’s back as he turned on the shower, nervously fiddling with his clothes. Even if he was stupid, he knew he had ruined the good mood.
Mu Mu first pushed his hearing aid deeper into his ear canal, then pressed his earlobe hard, trying to see if the hearing aid would improve as it had before.
But his world remained silent; he couldn’t hear the sound of the water running.
Mu Mu became anxious, his grip unconsciously tightening, squeezing his earlobe hard.
Yan Gui Xing, who had finished preparing the bath, turned around and saw this, fearing Mu Mu was self-harming.
“Mu Mu!” His brow furrowed, he took two steps to Mu Mu’s side, forcefully pulling away his hand, coldly questioning, “What are you doing?!”
After saying this, Yan Gui Xing remembered that Mu Mu couldn’t hear him, momentarily unsure how to communicate with him.
His long fingers forcefully gripped the thin wrist, leaving a faint red mark under his fingertips.
Under the double attack of pain and anxiety, Mu Mu’s lip quivered, close to tears, “I can’t hear, I can’t hear anything. I’m sorry, did Mu Mu upset Gui Gui?”
The soft voice was choked with sobs; the sweet little strawberry had turned sour.
Yan Gui Xing also realized his facial expression management had failed. He closed his eyes, adjusting his demeanor.
He crouched down, taking Mu Mu’s hand, tilting his head to look at him, soothingly shaking his head. Remembering that Mu Mu had understood him calling his name earlier, seemingly understanding lip reading, he slowed his speech, speaking slowly and distinctly.
“No, got, an, gry.”
Mu Mu still looked at him with tearful eyes, clearly disbelieving.
Yan Gui Xing emphasized, “It’s, tru, ly.”
The lusterless eyes finally brightened slightly, but his face still showed distress.
Yan Gui Xing sighed softly, stood up, cupped Mu Mu’s face, and kissed him on the forehead and lips before pulling him into a tight hug, expressing his feelings through action.
This embrace lasted a long time, until the steaming water in the bathtub became lukewarm, before ending.
Taking advantage of Mu Mu’s inability to hear, Yan Gui Xing complained about the hotel’s appliances not being intelligent enough to automatically adjust the water temperature, before refilling the tub with hot water and carrying Mu Mu into it.
The hotel’s chaise lounge bathtub was the kind Yan Gui Xing wanted: perfect for one person, but requiring two people to sit huddled together.
However, neither of them was in the mood, the amorous turning into parent-child interaction time.
After a brief parent-child time, Yan Gui Xing bundled the sleepy Mu Mu in the blanket, rolling it tightly and holding it close.
He looked at Mu Mu, who was trying to keep his eyes open to look at him, his heart both soft and aching. He sighed softly, kissed Mu Mu’s lips, and said goodnight, even though he knew he couldn’t hear.
This time, Mu Mu could no longer keep his eyes open. His forehead rested against Yan Gui Xing’s jaw, and he felt a faint, almost inaudible sound by his ear, vaguely muttering, “I think I can hear.”
Yan Gui Xing didn’t respond, like he was putting a child to sleep, gently patting Mu Mu’s back through the blanket again and again, until the breathing in his arms deepened before gradually stopping.
He gently brushed away the hair covering the child’s cheek, revealing his jade-like ear under the warm yellow light.
His fingers rested on Mu Mu’s earlobe, tracing the shape of his ear, the jade-green eyes somehow turning dark and dangerous.
The ears, the legs, the brain – Yan Gui Xing didn’t mind that the child was imperfect. He even initially thought that such an imperfect Mu Mu would be easier to care for than a normal person.
But now, he found those imperfections irritating.
Such a cute and well-behaved Mu Mu should be flawless.
Yan Gui Xing pressed the sleeping child closer, his jaw resting on the soft, curly hair, and rubbed it a few times with closed eyes.
Since Mu Mu’s imperfections were caused by him, he would fix them.
Actually, Gongsun had privately mentioned Mu Mu’s old ailment to Yan Gui Xing, but at the time, Yan Gui Xing hadn’t cared and hadn’t listened to Gongsun’s explanation.
However, for Mu Mu, these issues had been with him for seventeen years; treating them sooner or later made no difference.
Mu Mu’s hearing aid was fixed during the night; he woke up in Yan Gui Xing’s arms in the morning, lulled by the reassuring heartbeat.
He happily hugged Yan Gui Xing’s neck, giving him a “smack” on the face, and nestled in his chest, giggling foolishly. The movement was so big that even the feigning-sleep Yan Gui Xing couldn’t keep up the act and unconsciously started laughing.
