LITTLE FOOL CHAPTER 58

Chapter 58 Such a Good Mu Mu
Next, following Yan Gui Xing’s original plan, after breakfast, they played through the remaining three sections of the park and took a sightseeing car back to the hotel for lunch.
Mimi the black cat and Wang Wang the Border Collie, as a hidden surprise, would replace the usual service robots, pushing the food cart into their private room.
Mu Mu never expected this, and he jumped up from his chair in excitement, his hands covering his mouth unable to contain his squeals.
He didn’t cling to Yan Gui Xing; he sat directly between Mimi the black cat and Wang Wang the Border Collie, enjoying the joy of being surrounded.
Yan Gui Xing’s mind wasn’t on it; he didn’t enjoy it as much as yesterday.
Mu Mu spent almost all the time with Mimi and Wang Wang, and Yan Gui Xing didn’t get jealous. He even helped Mu Mu take photos and choose toys, seemingly turning into the model boyfriend overnight, leaving Achi and the others stunned.
However, this image of a generous, limited-time boyfriend only lasted until Mu Mu boarded the air vehicle clutching a Border Collie plush toy taller than himself.
Yan Gui Xing turned his head to ask Mu Mu if he was tired, but met the cool, almost masked, dog face of the plush toy.
He was already somewhat distracted and didn’t react immediately; his body instinctively dodged backward, his arm hitting the armrest with a muffled thud.
Mu Mu’s hearing aid wasn’t very sensitive, and the giant plush toy was blocking his side, so he didn’t hear the muffled sound.
Achi, the giant lightbulb in the air vehicle, keenly heard the thud.
He truly didn’t expect it to be Yan Gui Xing, and he wasn’t trying to watch the show; he turned his head out of instinct and training.
He happened to see Yan Gui Xing leaning towards the armrest, his sharp, peach-blossom eyes almost bulging, his expression a mixture of surprise and horror, as he stared at the plush toy.
Achi swore that after following Yan Gui Xing for so long, he’d never seen him so scared by a plush toy, showing such an expression.
He couldn’t help but purse his lips and smile, but the next second, he was the one showing a horrified expression. Because Yan Gui Xing turned his head, looking at him with eyes full of killing intent.
Achi gulped nervously, a loud “glug” sound escaping. He hastily turned his head, sitting upright and staring straight ahead.
Yan Gui Xing rolled his eyes, letting out a cold, “Heh.”
As for this cold laugh, whether Mu Mu heard it or not is unknown, but Achi certainly did. Under Yan Gui Xing’s icy gaze, he straightened his back even more.
Yan Gui Xing was too lazy to pay any more attention to Achi. He turned sideways, disdainfully glaring at the plush toy that occupied half the seat, grabbing the Border Collie’s floppy ears and throwing it to the floor.
Mu Mu was leaning against the plush toy, playing with its paws. The sudden emptiness beside him caused him to lose his balance, and he fell towards the empty side.
After Yan Gui Xing steadied Mu Mu, he scooped him up under his arms and placed him across his lap.
“Gui Gui?” Mu Mu supported Yan Gui Xing’s shoulders, turning his head to look at the Border Collie plush toy lying on the ground, then at Yan Gui Xing, not understanding why he had thrown it away.
Those clean, clear eyes, when used to accuse someone, had double the impact. Yan Gui Xing felt a little guilty, his gaze shifting away from those eyes.
He pressed his hand harder on Mu Mu’s back, pulling him closer.
His free hand touched the side of Mu Mu’s ear with the hearing aid and asked, “How is it today? Can you hear clearly?”
Mu Mu’s attention was easily diverted, especially since Yan Gui Xing was asking about his hearing aid. He immediately forgot about seeking justice for the poor Border Collie.
He subconsciously reached out and touched that ear with the hearing aid, his fingertips touching the fingers lingering on his ear. Before he could pull away, his hand was clasped in Yan Gui Xing’s.
Holding his hand up like that was tiring, Mu Mu pouted and softly said it was uncomfortable. After hearing this, Yan Gui Xing held his hand in front of him, not letting go.
Mu Mu liked the feeling of holding hands with Yan Gui Xing. He poked his fingers in the large palm, answering, “Compared to before, I can’t hear very clearly. It’s like, um, like the volume of a cartoon has been turned down.”
He said, his small face wrinkling, saying worriedly, “It’s over, Mu Mu’s hearing aid is really going to break this time. I have to buy a new one, it’s so expensive.”
With Yan Gui Xing around, even the most expensive hearing aid was like candy to Mu Mu; as long as he wanted it, he could easily get it.
It’s just that in Mu Mu’s ingrained impression, the hearing aid was still that expensive item that could drain half of his savings.
When it came to buying a hearing aid, he would still instinctively consider the price, and then resist.
Yan Gui Xing reached out and rubbed Mu Mu’s face, laughing, “So worried? Your face is all wrinkled like a little old man.”
Mu Mu narrowed his eyes, rubbing against the somewhat rough palm like a pet, softly complaining, “Of course I’m worried! Hearing aids are so expensive, a simple one costs all of Mu Mu’s savings.”
Since becoming a captain, Yan Gui Xing hadn’t worried about star coins. His impoverished childhood had been buried deep in his memory; he couldn’t really empathize with Mu Mu now.
However, Mu Mu wouldn’t need hearing aids in the future.
Yan Gui Xing kissed Mu Mu’s lips, smiling and asking, “Do you want me to save you a lot of star coins?”
Mu Mu thought Yan Gui Xing was going to buy him a hearing aid. He pursed his lips, pondering for a few seconds before shaking his head.
“No, Gui Gui has already bought Mu Mu so many things, and given Mu Mu so many star coins. Mu Mu will buy the hearing aid himself.”
“I’m not talking about buying you a hearing aid,” Yan Gui Xing said. “I mean, treating your ears, so you don’t have to wear a hearing aid anymore.”
Hearing that Yan Gui Xing was going to treat his ears, Mu Mu suddenly sat up straight, his eyes wide and round, his pupils constricting slightly. He looked at Yan Gui Xing in shock, his voice rising.
“Gui Gui, you said you’ll treat my ears?”
Seeing Mu Mu’s excited expression, Yan Gui Xing pinched the soft flesh on Mu Mu’s face, smiling and asking, “So happy?”
Mu Mu threw himself into Yan Gui Xing’s arms, hugging his neck tightly, exclaiming, “Happy! Mu Mu is so happy!”
How could he not be happy to hear your voice directly?
Also! He had to tell An An that Gui Gui wasn’t refusing to treat his ears; he just hadn’t had the chance to tell him yet.
Yan Gui Xing gently patted Mu Mu’s back, waiting for him to calm down before continuing, “After we get back, we’ll have Gongsun give you a thorough examination to see how to treat it. If possible, we’ll treat your leg as well.”
As for his head… the fingers resting on the soft curly hair tightened slightly. Even if Yan Gui Xing didn’t understand medicine, he knew that head injuries were irreversible.
Oh well, let him be silly, it’s quite cute.
Mu Mu’s happiness was largely due to Yan Gui Xing’s initiative to offer treatment.
Although he firmly believed that Yan Gui Xing liked him, Zheng An’s words had still made him a little uncomfortable and sad.
Now that Yan Gui Xing had offered, this small matter had vanished.
The remaining small part of his happiness was about being able to cure his ears and legs.
However, Mu Mu was still very rational. While a cure would be wonderful news, he wouldn’t be sad or heartbroken if it couldn’t be cured; he could just get a better hearing aid.
After hearing Mu Mu’s words, Yan Gui Xing fell into an unusual silence.
He couldn’t understand how Mu Mu, after experiencing that terrible accident, losing his parents, suffering physical impairments, and growing up in a bullying orphanage, could still be so sunny and cheerful.
For the first time, Yan Gui Xing felt lucky to have met such a good Mu Mu. His heart moved him to promise Mu Mu something.
But Yan Gui Xing opened his mouth and didn’t know what to say. Should he say he liked him? But if he said he liked him, wasn’t it to coax Mu Mu to obediently become his lover?!
Should he talk about signing a marriage certificate with Mu Mu? But he didn’t have any plans to formally marry Mu Mu.
What else could he say? Yan Gui Xing pursed his lips, jade-green eyes swirling with darkness, eventually settling into a chaotic black.
He hugged the child tightly, letting him rest in his arms, preventing those clean eyes from seeing through his ugliness.
Yan Gui Xing whispered “so good, so good” repeatedly in Mu Mu’s ear. He wanted to say another word, but he dared not.
——
Their journey back wasn’t smooth; they encountered rush hour and a series of air vehicle collisions, resulting in a two-hour traffic jam.
Along the way, Yan Gui Xing, impatient with the traffic, had Achi contact the air traffic control bureau, only to learn that the accident was caused by a group of young people manually racing their air vehicles and making operational errors.
Yan Gui Xing and the others were stuck at the junction of Districts Four and Three, always the most congested area of Liuli Star, both in the air and on the ground.
The wait was boring, and Mu Mu fell asleep in Yan Gui Xing’s arms. Yan Gui Xing’s initially irritable mood calmed down when he heard the soft breathing in his arms.
By the time they arrived home, it was dusk. The setting sun cast an orange-pink glow across the sky, a magnificent sight.
Yan Gui Xing carried the sleeping Mu Mu off the air vehicle and headed straight for the master bedroom.
Gongsun, waiting aside, watched their backs and shrugged, knowing the examination would have to be postponed until tomorrow.
He wasn’t in a hurry to leave, wanting to gossip with Achi and Sha Xia about Yan Gui Xing.
When he saw Achi carrying a nearly 1.9-meter-tall giant Border Collie plush toy off the air vehicle, he was so shocked that his hands flew out of his white coat pockets.
“My god! You actually brought back such a big dog!”
Achi peeked out from behind the Border Collie, emphasizing, “It’s the little madam’s dog, to be sent to the master bedroom later.”
Before Gongsun could speak, he saw people getting off other air vehicles carrying large bags, bulging with contents.
He was a bit dumbfounded and asked, “What are they carrying?”
Achi: “Plush toys.”
Gongsun was utterly confused. “Did you guys rob the amusement park? You brought back so many plush toys? Doesn’t the boss dislike that kind of thing?”
Achi sighed, “The boss doesn’t like it, but the little madam does. This house… the little madam might have the final say in the future.”
