Little Fool Chapter 86

Chapter 86: Leave! Let’s leave now!

Zheng An placed warm water on the table in front of Mu Mu. Seeing him still listlessly lowering his head, seemingly looking at the strawberry hairpin in his hand but not really looking, he sighed heavily and pulled up the chair next to him to sit down.

The harsh noise of the chair legs rubbing against the floor tiles didn’t, as Zheng An had hoped, bring back Mu Mu’s wandering mind.

He frantically ruffled his messy hair and urged, “Ancestors, say something! What happened? You’re sitting here silently, and I can’t guess!”

Mu Mu was like a low-battery robot, slowly raising his head to look at Zheng An, but his eyes were still unfocused, not knowing where he was looking.

“An An, Gui…” Mu Mu’s eyes suddenly reddened, his eyelashes trembling slightly. He wasn’t crying, but it was even more heartbreaking than actual tears, making Zheng An’s heart ache.

“General… he’s engaged.” Mu Mu clutched the strawberry hairpin helplessly. “He said he doesn’t like me, that I’m his pet cat or dog. Now he has a bride and doesn’t want me anymore.”

“An An, what should I do?”

“Engaged?” Zheng An had been busy all day, only having five minutes to change out of his sweat-soaked clothes when Mu Mu came in.

Let alone Yan Gui Xing’s engagement, even if the emperor changed today, Zheng An wouldn’t know.

Hearing Mu Mu say this, he was shocked. He subconsciously picked up his optical brain and searched for the keyword “Yan Gui Xing engaged.”

Compared to the distraught Mu Mu, Zheng An trusted the news more. After all, Yan Gui Xing’s engagement was such a big deal that it couldn’t possibly not be in the news.

Goodness! Zheng An looked at the news that popped up, gasped in surprise, and slammed the optical brain on the table, staring at Mu Mu with wide eyes.

He’s really engaged? And to the daughter of the council secretary-general?!

So, his little fool was dumped?

Although Zheng An, when he found out Mu Mu was with Yan Gui Xing, had pessimistically told Mu Mu that Yan Gui Xing was playing with him, that he wouldn’t really like him, and that they would definitely break up.

But he privately hoped for Mu Mu’s happiness, hoping that they would really sign a marriage contract as Mu Mu said.

Who would have thought that it would come true.

Zheng An raised his hand and slapped himself hard, cursing, “What a crow’s mouth! Don’t say such things randomly.”

After the shock and annoyance came anger.

Zheng An bounced off the chair like a firecracker, frantically jumping and gesticulating in the small room, muttering curses.

“The General is amazing?! Can the General just play with other people’s feelings?! Pet cats, dogs, hedgehogs, I’ll go to hell!”

“What council secretary’s daughter, what heiress, I say she’s a mistress! A mistress!! She’s butting into someone else’s relationship, shameless!”

“AAAAAH! Yan Gui Xing, you womanizer! You’ll get retribution! You’ll definitely get retribution! Spit! You’ll definitely not get elected as General this time!”

“…”

Mu Mu, who usually would say something against Yan Gui Xing, now just quietly watched Zheng An, waiting until Zheng An was tired of making a fuss, then calmly said, “Okay, An An, sit down and rest. If you keep jumping like this, the people downstairs will come and complain.”

“There’s no one downstairs!” Zheng An hadn’t finished venting his anger, but after all that commotion, his physical strength was completely exhausted.

He sat back beside Mu Mu, panting, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and asked, “Have you thought it through? What are you going to do next?”

Mu Mu tightly clutched the strawberry hairpin; his tender palm was pinched painfully by the hard hairpin. After a moment, he let go and placed the hairpin on the table.

“I want to leave.”

Zheng An thought Mu Mu meant Yan Gui Xing’s house and readily nodded, “You should leave. You can’t let them chase us away; it would be even more embarrassing.”

Mu Mu gently shook his head and said, “I mean leave Glass Star.”

Zheng An was stunned and then frowned in thought. He didn’t speak, and Mu Mu didn’t disturb him, just quietly sitting with him.

Five minutes later, Zheng An clenched his fist and slammed it on the table. “Let’s go! I’ll go with you; we’re not staying in this broken place!”

Mu Mu didn’t expect Zheng An to want to leave with him. While touched, he also felt that his problems shouldn’t involve Zheng An, making him leave his home with him.

No, it’s Zheng An who’s leaving his home.

He wasn’t originally from Glass Star. After the accident, he was rescued and brought to Glass Star. Because he had no family or relatives to take him in, he was sent to an orphanage.

Zheng An is different. He is a Glass Star native. Even though he is also an orphan, Glass Star is still his hometown.

“An An, thank you. But this is your home; you don’t have to leave home for Mu Mu.”

Zheng An waved his hand and sneered, “What home? I’m just an orphan, in this broken place, I have neither a house nor a career; I can live anywhere.”

“As for you, you’re so silly, you can be tricked right under your nose, and so badly. If you really go to a strange planet like this, won’t people trick you and sell you by the pound?”

“An An.” Mu Mu pursed his lips, his eyes reddening again, tears welling up, ready to fall at any moment.

This time, he wasn’t sad; he was moved to tears.

But Zheng An didn’t know, thinking he had been careless and made Mu Mu sad again; he wanted to slap himself again.

He raised his hand to wipe Mu Mu’s tears, but Mu Mu wasn’t crying yet, so he couldn’t help wipe them. He could only spread his hands, like a goose flapping its wings idly.

“Hey, don’t cry! What’s there to cry about? Didn’t you say I’m your best friend? It’s normal for best friends to move to a new place together. Besides, we’re both orphans, and we can look after each other.”

“Okay, stop crying; it’s annoying. Come and help me pack my bags; you can’t have nothing, and I can’t just leave empty-handed.”

Zheng An’s words warmed Mu Mu’s heart. He had decided; even without Gui Gui, he still had An An. He wasn’t alone, so he didn’t have to be sad.

Okay, he’s still a little sad. But Mu Mu believed that this sadness would soon be healed. Just like when he lost his parents, he was very sad and often cried secretly at night.

But after a few years, he learned not to be sad and could talk about his parents with a smile.

Mu Mu is like that. Although he is silly and doesn’t understand many things, he is more decisive than others when it comes to leaving.

Zheng An, for once, became a man of action. When he said he would pack his bags, he didn’t delay at all.

He carried a large suitcase around the room, picking only the most important and valuable things to put in it; he didn’t take the rest.

With the luggage packed, only the destination remained.

Zheng An took out his optical brain to check for spaceship tickets. While the webpage was loading, he cursed himself for being stupid. The routes had been closed for months; where could he buy a spaceship ticket?! He should be looking for a black ship.

Because Zheng An liked to bet on star beast races, and these kinds of races are rarely formal competitions, Zheng An has some special channels and connections.

He had them, but Zheng An was timid; besides betting on star beast races, he would never dare to have anything too deep to do with them.

But now the situation is special, and he really has to use them. Huh? Zheng An looked at the long list of flight times displayed on the loaded webpage and scratched the back of his head.

“Wasn’t the star region blocked? How come you can buy tickets again?” Zheng An couldn’t figure out what had happened and simply stopped thinking about it. Anyway, it didn’t matter to them. The most important thing now is where to go.

“Mu Mu, where do you want to go? Or, let’s go to your hometown? I’ve never been there before.”

Hearing Zheng An mention his hometown, Mu Mu subconsciously recalled his former home. But the memories were too distant; he could hardly remember anything, and even his parents’ faces were blurred.

But this didn’t hinder Mu Mu’s yearning for his hometown. He gently nodded and replied, “Okay.”

——

Yan Gui Xing and Achi walked out of the elevator one after the other. In front of them were two tightly closed doors side by side, with the numbers 701 and 702 on them.

Yan Gui Xing hooked off his sunglasses with one hand and tapped the number 702 on the right, gesturing for Achi to go and knock on the door.

“Ding dong!”

After the somewhat loud doorbell rang three times, there was still no response. Achi looked down at the optical brain on his wrist; the time showed 10:00.

At this time, Zheng An should have gone to work.

Achi said, “Boss, we might be late; Zheng An has gone to work.”

Yan Gui Xing held the arms of his sunglasses, raised his left eyebrow, and said sarcastically, “Do you think Zheng An would take Mu Mu to work? Even if he dared, would the boss of the restaurant where he works allow Mu Mu to stay?”

Achi shook his head, “He wouldn’t dare.”

The implication given was that any shop that dared to hire Mu Mu would close within three days. Therefore, the shops where Mu Mu worked had scrambled to fire him.

Although so much time had passed, Achi believed that these people would definitely remember it clearly.

In other words, even if Zheng An wasn’t reassured leaving Mu Mu home alone and took him to work, the restaurant owner certainly wouldn’t dare let Mu Mu stay in the shop.

Zheng An wasn’t stupid; he should have thought of this situation. Therefore, Mu Mu was either alone in the room next door or Zheng An, not feeling at ease, had taken leave to stay at home with him.

Yan Gui Xing glared at Achi and said coldly, “You know he wouldn’t dare, and you still aren’t ringing the doorbell?!”

Achi hurriedly continued to ring the doorbell, but after four or five rings, the noise caused the residents of 701 to come out to see what was going on. 702 still didn’t respond.

A thought flashed through Achi’s mind but was immediately suppressed. He turned to look at Yan Gui Xing and softly said, “Boss, there’s probably no one. Should we continue ringing?”

Yan Gui Xing’s face had turned cold when the doorbell rang five times without a response. Now, his beautiful face was expressionless, his green eyes cold, like unfrozen but still icy lake water in winter.

A faint smile curled at his crimson lips, making his expressionless face even more terrifying; Achi, standing beside him, shivered.

“It’s okay if no one’s there,” Yan Gui Xing smiled. “Just have someone remove the door.”

【Author’s Note】: His wife is gone, Yan is panicking~
