Part 3
Ushatos descent was divided into two types: physical descent and mental descent. The latter allowed one to temporarily occupy another’s body, though their power would be greatly weakened.
Soland was overjoyed to hear this and immediately gave up control of his body, closing his eyes and fainting.
Yu An was in a panic and hadn’t heard the plan of the two.
The next second, Klold opened His eyes. He was met with Chausierâs violent mental power strike. He swung a small tentacle, and an even more massive mental power instantly suppressed Chausier.
Dust flew as Chausier was slammed heavily against the wall.
Yu An was scared silly, not knowing who to help. He hesitated for a few seconds between the unharmed “Soland” and the coughing Chausier clutching His chest. He quickly ran over to pick up “Soland” and then went to help Chausier up.
Chausier was truly in a wretched state. His snow-white face was dirty. With a piteous face, He leaned on Yu Anâs shoulder to stand up, the corners of His eyes and His face turning red as tears fell from His eyes in the next second.
Yu An: “…!!!”
Chausier didn’t care about anything else; if He felt pain, He cried. He didn’t cry loudly, sobbing piteously. [It wasn’t my fault. Boss, why did you hit me?]
Boss?
Yu An looked at the little octopus on his shoulder. “Why does Brother Chausier call you Boss?”
Klold gazed at the cub close at hand. Because of all the running, Yu Anâs small face was flushed red, and the fine beads of sweat on his forehead rolled down and dripped onto the ground.
After this period of care from Lin Huaichen and Wen Xun, Yu An was no longer skeletal. He had much more baby fat, and from Kloldâs angle, He could see the round curve of his profile.
As Yu An waited for “Solandâs” answer, he suddenly felt a touch on his cheek. In his peripheral vision, he saw “Solandâs” small tentacle poking his face.
Yu An tilted his head back and laughed, revealing two small dimples. “Don’t move. It tickles.”
Klold poked his dimples again. They were very soft; He would never get tired of poking them.
Klold was only descending temporarily and would leave soon. He retracted His small tentacle. His lake-blue eyes, filled with majesty, swept over Chausier. [Leave now. If the child doesn’t want to eat it, then let it be. Don’t force him.]
Chausier was fairly obedient before Klold. He lowered His head. [I understand, Boss. Then next time I find something even more delicious, Iâll come to feed the cub again!]
If the cub didn’t eat what He brought, it must be because it wasn’t delicious. Then He would just find something better to feed him!
Chausier comforted Himself, brushed the dust off His body, and nimbly flipped over the wall to leave.
Yu An opened his mouth but then closed it. Previously, Soland had also caught very ugly Xenogenics to feed him. He didn’t know why they all shared the perception that he liked eating Xenogenics.
Clearly, he preferred eating small cakes, yet he didn’t see them bringing him any of those.
Without Chausierâs suppression, the Xenogenic began to stir. It couldn’t be helped; the child before its eyes was simply too fragrantâso fragrant it could cast aside all reason and only want to take a bite of the boy.
Yu An was shocked to see this Xenogenicâwhich had been half-dead before Chausierâsuddenly burst with life. It stood straight up. The Xenogenic, a full two meters tall, looked down at him, the greed in its eyes clearly visible.
Little White flew in a circle around the Xenogenic and issued an alarm: “A-rank Xenogenic! Little Master, run quickly!”
It was actually A-rank?!
Yu An was incredibly surprised. He had always thought this Xenogenic was very weak; otherwise, how could Chausier have caught it so easily? He wanted to cry but had no tears. “L-Little White, did you detect it wrong?”
“No, Little White specifically waited for that Xenogenic of unknown rank to leave before detecting it.” Little Whiteâs short wings patted its chest. “Little White will absolutely never make a mistake in detection.”
He was finished. Yu An had heard his papas say that A-rank Xenogenics were very powerful. They would eat children!
[Sigh…]
Klold watched as His own cub was pushed to a dead end by food. He felt mixed emotions. No cub like Yu An had ever been born among the Ushatos. He was too good, and too weak.
Just as Klold was preparing to deal with this unruly food for Yu An, a sudden change occurred with the Xenogenic. It was as if a transparent barrier had appeared around it, trapping it inside. The Xenogenic roared and crashed into the barrier but could not escape.
The next second, a blazing fire ignited, instantly swallowing the Xenogenic. The Xenogenic let out a sharp scream, unable to escape as the high temperature scorched its body and its flesh began to burn.
The fire was confined only to the Xenogenic’s location. The reflection of the blazing flames shone in Yu Anâs eyes. His breath hitched, and he pulled Monday away from the area.
Rapid footsteps approached, and a large group of people ran over in a hurry.
Yu An fell into a warm embrace, which instantly dispersed the chill that had clung to his body. He looked up and met Wen Xunâs worried eyes. “Papa…”
Wen Xun checked his body. “Are you hurt anywhere? An-an, tell Papa, is there any discomfort?”
Lin Huaichen also looked at him with a heart full of worry.
Under their gazes, Yu An felt terrible with guilt. he had made his papas worry.
“Iâm fine.” Yu An hugged Wen Xunâs neck, pressing tightly against his cheek and rubbing gently. “Iâm sorry, Papa.”
The heart Wen Xun had held in his throat fell back into place. “You mustn’t come to such a dangerous place next time. Youâre only a child; you can’t put yourself in danger, understand?”
They had just run into Fu Yunshu and the other children and learned what had happened from them.
Upon learning that Yu An had charged into the back garden even though he knew there were Xenogenics inside, Wen Xun was both anxious and angry. He had decided he must spank Yu Anâs little butt to make the disobedient little fellow learn a lesson.
But seeing Yu Anâs small face pale with fright when facing the horrific Xenogenic, Wen Xun and Lin Huaichenâs hearts ached terribly. In an instant, they forgot everything, only wanting to hold the frightened little guy in their arms and soothe him properly.
Yu An nestled in Wen Xunâs arms, watching as the tall uncles surrounded the Xenogenic that had frightened him. Ling Xingcheng stood at the very front. With a wave of his hand, the fire dissipated, revealing the Xenogenic scorched beyond recognition.
It was almost burned into a “crispy chicken,” yet the Xenogenic wasn’t dead. It stared with a clear purpose at Yu An in the crowd, murmuring over and over, [One bite… give me one bite…]
Yu Anâs tense nerves relaxed. Hearing it say “one bite” over and over, its chanting almost made him hungry.
Yu An rubbed his small belly and couldn’t help but stare at the Xenogenic in a daze. He didn’t know if it was his imagination, but this Xenogenic had become so fragrant. One bite…
Small, transparent tentacles slowly stretched out from Yu Anâs body. They gradually approached the Xenogenic, coiling around its body. The tiny teeth within the small suckers bit into the Xenogenicânot into its flesh, but its mental power.
Ling Xingcheng only saw the Xenogenic suddenly begin to twitch. Its body deflated bit by bit, like a leaking balloon. Finally, only a pile of bones and the loose skin hanging over them remained.
The Xenogenic was dead. It had died for no apparent reason.
In Wen Xunâs arms, Yu An let out a burp and rubbed his small belly again. This time it wasn’t from hunger, but from being uncomfortably stuffed.
“Is your tummy uncomfortable?” Wen Xun touched his small belly and gently massaged it for him. “Does this feel a bit better?”
Yu An let out a few comfortable whimpers. Drowsiness gradually welled up, his voice sleepy. “It feels good. Thank you, Papa.”
“If you’re sleepy, then sleep.”
Accompanied by Wen Xunâs gentle voice, Yu An closed his eyes and leaned peacefully against his shoulder to fall asleep.
Lin Huaichen gazed at Yu Anâs sleeping face, brushing away the stray hairs on his forehead to reveal the child’s exquisite face. The little guy looked as if he were dreaming of something delicious, as his mouth smacked twice.
“Little glutton.” Lin Huaichen smiled and pinched his small nose. He said to Wen Xun, “Let me carry him.”
Wen Xunâs physical strength wasn’t very good; holding little Yu An for a while made his arms sore. He didn’t force himself, gently transferring Yu An into Lin Huaichenâs hands.
This inevitably disturbed Yu Anâs sleep. He whimpered twice, his small eyebrows furrowed, as he burrowed unsteadily into Lin Huaichenâs embrace.
