Ouyang Xiaoli froze, momentarily unable to comprehend Xia Yi’s words. He mentally replayed the two sentences several times before their meaning finally registered.
His eyes instantly became profound.
“What do you mean?” Although he already understood, he still asked.
Xia Yi, thinking the man hadn’t understood, carefully walked into the bathroom barefoot, approaching the man and gently hugging his waist.
The man’s waist was exactly as he’d seen: strong and well-defined. Where his hands touched, he could feel every inch of muscle was perfect.
The faint scent of bath products mingled with the man’s unique masculine aroma, instantly enveloping Xia Yi, leaving his mind completely blank.
His expression was dazed.
Ouyang Xiaoli froze.
His throat uncontrollably moved, his body naturally reacting, and then… then the little merman suddenly and forcefully pulled away his towel. At this moment, Ouyang Xiaoli’s expression was dumbfounded.
Xia Yi blinked.
He seemed to want to reach out and touch, but Ouyang Xiaoli, reacting quickly, grabbed him, shouting, “Who taught you this?! If you act up again, believe me, I’ll throw you to the sharks!”
Xia Yi stared blankly at the man.
Tears fell like broken pearls.
Ouyang Xiaoli realized his tone was harsh, so he softened it: “Get out.”
Xia Yi, barefoot, stepped on the wet floor. The floor wasn’t very wet, so his legs didn’t transform into a tail.
He stood there helplessly.
Koda had said that to become the sister-in-law, he had to be proactive; no man could resist a golden merman’s initiative.
Xia Yi really wanted to be the sister-in-law.
He didn’t want to die. When he read the book, he thought the leader of the East City in the Underground City was pretty good, and he didn’t understand why he was the villain.
Only after the Xia Yi in the book was slapped to death by Ouyang Xiaoli, and Ouyang became an enemy of the main protagonist’s love interest,
did he realize he was the villain.
Ouyang Xiaoli sighed. He turned around, quickly showered, dried himself, put on his clothes, and threw his dirty clothes into the hamper.
Only then did he carry the stubborn little merman, who still refused to leave his side, out of the bathroom.
“Xia Yi wants to be the sister-in-law!”
“I want to be the sister-in-law!”
Xia Yi angrily puffed out his cheeks; his thin layer of shame had already been destroyed. He stared directly at the man, his eyes wide.
His small mouth was like a parrot, repeating the same phrase.
Ouyang Xiaoli sat on the sofa drying his hair. He knew it was Koda’s doing without having to guess.
“What did Koda tell you?”
Xia Yi pouted: “Xia Yi wants to be the sister-in-law; Xia Yi can sleep with Ouyang; Xia Yi can also bear children for Ouyang…”
Ouyang Xiaoli: “…”
He turned his head and coughed lightly.
The atmosphere was somewhat subtle; Ouyang Xiaoli couldn’t explain it. Such matters couldn’t be decided in a few words.
The little merman didn’t understand anything.
“Bear children, my foot.”
The man chuckled softly.
He thought this was also taught by that Koda fellow, mentally whipping Koda a hundred times in his heart.
Next time he saw that guy,
he would sew his mouth shut!
Xia Yi’s eyes were red.
As if he would cry the next second.
Ouyang Xiaoli felt a double headache; he was really not good at comforting people.
But the little merman’s crying was quite something; he didn’t make a sound, only lowering his head, his shoulders trembling. He looked both stubborn and fragile.
Ouyang Xiaoli’s heart softened.
He got up and walked toward the room, returning after a while with two bags, one large and one small. Both bags looked very expensive, with intricate and beautiful patterns.
After today’s lessons from Koda, Xia Yi already knew that such things wouldn’t appear in the Underground City—at least, not for sale.
Xia Yi looked up at the man.
He saw the man walk towards him step by step, expressionlessly handing him the bags: “I bought you some clothes. Try them on to see if they fit.”
Xia Yi’s gaze fell on the bags.
He slowly took them, then cautiously looked at the man.
The man found it amusing: “What are you looking at me for?”
Xia Yi shook his head.
Ouyang Xiaoli said indifferently: “Take what I gave you; I won’t take it back.” After saying this, he sat down next to Xia Yi.
Xia Yi opened the large bag.
It contained understated but luxurious clothes.
He reached out and touched them; they were very soft, the fabric felt comfortable. He couldn’t resist touching them again, for a long time before putting them down.
Xia Yi opened the small bag.
He saw a meat floss bun.
He was stunned for a moment.
Xia Yi looked up at the man beside him. The man had somehow gotten an old medical kit, and was currently applying bandages to his face.
Without a mirror, he felt around the wound and haphazardly applied one, crookedly; most of the wound was still exposed.
But the man didn’t seem to care.
He continued tearing off other bandages, glanced down at the wound on his waist, and applied one there, his face showing no extra emotion.
Xia Yi hesitated.
He moved closer.
Ouyang Xiaoli was spraying disinfectant on other wounds when he suddenly felt a chill on his face. The next second, the bandage on his face was ripped off.
He subconsciously frowned.
Just as he was about to scold this unruly merman, he saw the merman carefully reapply the bandage, gently blowing on it.
Ouyang Xiaoli froze slightly.
The incredibly light breath tickled his face; his breath caught in his throat. He quickly blinked.
His throat uncontrollably moved.
“It’s crooked.”
Xia Yi softly said.
He obediently sat back down.
Ouyang Xiaoli: “…”
Start a fire and run; this wouldn’t be Koda’s teaching, would it?
It was maddening.
He casually said, “Eat the bun; that thing won’t last long. Eating it after it expires will cause stomach problems.”
“Mm.”
“Go change in the room.”
“Mm.”
Ouyang glanced at the little merman, his gaze lingering on his white and slender legs for a few seconds before casually shifting his gaze away.
Xia Yi noticed.
He thought for a moment, gently pulling up his short red underpants, subtly revealing more of his snow-white skin.
Ouyang Xiaoli: “…”
“What are you doing?”
Ouyang Xiaoli’s face instantly darkened.
Seeing Ouyang seemed angry, Xia Yi quickly pulled his pants down, a little helpless: “I, I thought you would like…”
Ouyang Xiaoli: “…”
“Do you want to touch?” Xia Yi mustered his courage, looking straight at the man.
Ouyang bought him the best clothes and a bun that couldn’t be bought in the Underground City. Ouyang was a good person, and the strongest man in the Underground City. Xia Yi secretly told himself he must become the sister-in-law!
Only by becoming the sister-in-law.
Could he avoid being slapped to death.
Ouyang Xiaoli abruptly stood up!
He practically fled back to the room, took a deep breath, licked his dry lips, and casually tugged at the collar of his shirt.
Damn it, why is it suddenly so hot.
From Xia Yi’s perspective, the strongest man in the Underground City was angry with him. He sat helplessly on the sofa.
He seemed to have angered Ouyang again.
After sitting for a while, Xia Yi couldn’t resist his appetite, picked up the fragrant bun, and took a bite, feeling extremely satisfied, his expression like a cat.
“So delicious.”
His cheeks were puffed out.
Just then, Koda came to find Ouyang. As soon as he entered, he saw the little merman nibbling on the bun, his eyes widening in shock: “Meat floss bun?”
Xia Yi’s eyes were innocent.
There were still crumbs on his lips.
Like a little hamster stealing food.
Koda wailed: “Big Brother is too partial! He’s never bought me a bun! You’ve only been here a day or two, and he already bought you one!”
He swallowed, quietly approaching: “Let me have a taste, and I won’t be angry.”
Xia Yi: “…”
Koda was just saying that; naturally, he didn’t really want to eat it. Even if he did, he wouldn’t ask Xia Yi for it; the bun was a gift from Big Brother.
He could only feast his eyes.
Koda couldn’t help muttering: “You should at least leave some for Big Brother; he used half a year’s savings to buy you clothes and a bun.”
“He hasn’t eaten it yet either.”
He saw the clothes on the sofa earlier; they were clearly from the Silver Sea Empire. It seemed that Big Brother really cared about the little merman.
Xia Yi choked.
His eyes widened in disbelief: “Ouyang’s half a year’s savings?”
He thought that it was just a drop in the bucket for Ouyang Xiaoli. After all, he was the leader of the Underground City; he couldn’t be that poor.
He was wrong.
Xia Yi looked at the small bite marks on the bun; he had snatched it at the last moment; it was still mostly intact.
He mumbled: “Brother Koda, do you think he’ll dislike the bun because I’ve bitten it?”
Koda: “…”
He said expressionlessly: “Would you eat something Big Brother licked?”
Xia Yi thought seriously: “No.”
“Eat it yourself.”
Koda’s voice was a bit mournful.
Although it was a bit of a pity, Xia Yi still gobbled down the bun: “I’ll pay him back later.” The bun had bite marks; if he gave it to Brother Koda, it seemed disrespectful.
“How will you pay him back?”
Koda looked at the little merman.
“Bear him children.”
Xia Yi showed a cute smile.
Koda: “…”
Children were far more expensive than buns.
Ouyang Xiaoli, having taken care of his physiological needs in the room, was sweating profusely. He panted, lying in bed staring at the ceiling.
Before, he had heard several other leaders in the Underground City laughingly tell bawdy jokes, saying that mermen tasted amazing; even the most inferior black mermen were a thousand times better than ordinary slaves. Therefore, if a black merman showed them affection, they would basically not refuse.
Ouyang Xiaoli was an exception.
Perhaps because he was well-traveled, having been to the Silver Sea Empire and seen blue, white, and other types of mermen, he found them to be just so-so.
His curiosity had been satisfied.
He had no interest.
Until he met this golden merman; it was maddening. Ouyang Xiaoli felt that if he stayed with this merman any longer, he might lose control and become bestial; for the first time in his life, he felt conflicted.
To send the merman away, though, made him unhappy. Why send him away? This was a merman he had caught; he should be his!
Not to send him away, but this little merman kept teasing him, wanting to be his sister-in-law.
