Chapter 018: This Is the Additional Deposit
The afternoon sun spilled generously over Su Tang.
Ye Chiyu watched as his omega sank into the enormous white beanbag chair. A few strands of curly hair stuck up rebelliously—vibrant and adorable—and his light amber pupils seemed to house playful little pixies.
In a trance, Ye Chiyu felt as though he had returned to the first time he met Su Tang all those years ago. That day, too, had been a sunny afternoon just like this one.
Under the swings in front of the orphanage, a lone little tyke stood with a red nose and snot still trailing down his face, clearly having just cried.
When the little tyke saw him appear suddenly—face gloomy and clothes stained with blood—he wasn’t afraid. Instead, he ran over on his short legs, huffing and puffing. Standing on his tiptoes, he used his chubby little hands to gently grasp Ye Chiyu’s wounded hand. Between teary hiccups, he called out in a milky, baby voice.
“Big Brother, Big Brother, did you get into a fight with someone?”
“It must have been bad kids bullying you, right? Tang Tang will help you beat them up!”
The teenager said nothing, but he didn’t shake off that small hand. The little guy chattered away like a sparrow, yet he wasn’t annoying in the slightest.
Imitating the way adults behaved, the little tyke used his fleshy hands to gently brush away the gravel mixed with blood on the boy’s palm. Then, puckering his pink little mouth, he blew softly onto the wounds, puff by puff.
“Big Brother, does it hurt a lot? I’ll give you candy, okay? If you eat candy—hic—and blow on it, it’ll get better really fast!”
After saying this, a look of obvious conflict appeared on his chubby face. The teenager silently watched the internal struggle. Finally, having made up his mind, the little tyke slowly fished out a matcha milk candy from the small pocket of his shirt and solemnly placed it into Ye Chiyu’s hand.
“Hic, Big Brother, this is for you. It’s really yummy…”
As he spoke, the little guy licked his lips, looking like he was about to drool.
The orphanage rarely gave out sweets for fear of cavities. He had waited nearly half a month for the teacher to give him this milk candy, and it was even his favorite matcha flavor. But the big brother in front of him looked so sad; he surely needed this candy more than he did.
“Big Brother, don’t be sad anymore. Don’t get hurt again, okay? Your mom and dad will be very sad. They’ll help you defeat the bad guys!”
The teenager’s frozen heart was melted by this little bean who called himself Tang Tang. Always stubborn, he stiffened his neck and looked at the milk candy in his palm, the corners of his eyes reddening. He gave a very quiet hum of acknowledgment.
He left in a hurry, but before crossing the street, he heard the little tyke shouting at the top of his lungs.
“Big Brother! If you can’t beat the bad guys, call me! Tang Tang is really good at fighting! Bye-bye~!”
Ye Chiyu then plunged into the busy traffic, returning home in his bloodstained clothes. His dad held him and cried terribly, while his father looked at him with a gaze heavy with pain and heartache. Through it all, that milk candy from the little tyke remained clenched in his palm.
If only he had gone to bring that little tyke to his side a bit sooner.
But the way things were now… it didn’t seem too bad either.
Ye Chiyu looked at the little Su Tang who was staring at him with flickering eyes. In a good mood, he reached out and pinched the soft flesh of the omega’s cheek, smiling. “Alright then. How much is my little gentleman prepared to contribute toward our marital home?”
He loved that Su Tang considered their marriage so thoroughly. His little omega had already placed himself in the role of Ye Chiyu’s lawful partner. That fact alone was enough to keep Ye Chiyu rejoicing for days.
Su Tang, having had liberties taken with his cheeks but still feeling humble, lowered his head. He counted on his fingers, tallying his pitiful savings. Combining that with the housing prices in Jiangting and the decorations and furniture in this room that looked incredibly expensive, he fell into deep distress.
Ah, why did a pauper like me marry the wealthy Mr. Ye…
Boohoo, we’re two people on the same marriage certificate, but the gap in economic power is just too huge…
The penniless Su Tang had climbed up Mr. Ye’s mountain of gold and silver, and now he couldn’t get down.
The poor Su Tang glanced at the wealthy alpha beside him and felt a bit cowardly.
“Um, Mr. Ye, how about I… write you an IOU?”
“You know I’m still in school, I don’t… I don’t have much money…”
Su Tang was regretting it to death inside. If he had known, he wouldn’t have brought it up. Now he was in an awkward spot, about to default on a debt in front of Mr. Ye.
He carefully observed Ye Chiyu. Seeing no change in the other’s expression, he grew even more timid.
He continued, his voice weak and aggrieved, forcing himself to speak. “I should have money once I get more acting opportunities in the future. Mr. Ye, keep a tab for now, and I’ll pay you back slowly later…”
“Su Tang, that is acceptable, but the future is too far away,” Ye Chiyu sighed, his slender fingers straightening his tie. “I need to collect a deposit first.”
“A deposit? How much is it?”
It’s over. I’m really going to go bankrupt now.
Su Tang was on the verge of tears, his heart aching for his little treasury that was about to be emptied.
The alpha suddenly released his pheromones. The omega, who had high compatibility with him, sensed the alpha’s sudden surge of emotion within the rolling scent of whiskey. The gland at the back of his neck began to heat up again, and a blush unconsciously climbed up his face.
The tall alpha stood up and crouched halfway in front of him. That face, handsome enough to incur the wrath of gods, leaned in close. He pointed to his own cheek, smiling warmer than the sun outside.
“Baby, kiss me.”
“Ah…”
Su Tang was dazed and confused by the alpha’s face and pheromones, unable to react immediately.
The alpha had a beautiful smile, his voice filled with tempting allure. “The deposit.”
Su Tang’s already slightly pink face instantly exploded into red, his ears burning hot. He felt as if he had a fever.
Mr. Ye’s deposit is just a kiss?
His mind filled with racy thoughts again. Su Tang pursed his lips, his watery, wide eyes staring at the alpha waiting for him. He swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
“Hehe, okay.”
He smiled sweetly. Dizzied by the seduction of beauty, Su Tang leaned his body forward. His warm lips landed a feather-light kiss on his alpha’s cheek.
The soft sensation caused Ye Chiyu a moment of distraction. His little gentleman had smiled and offered a kiss, his exclusive, bitter-fresh green tea pheromones lingering in the air—yet somehow, it was impossibly sweet.
Mr. Ye smells so good. After the kiss, Su Tang, feeling unsatisfied, stuck out his tongue and licked his lips. He felt super brave!
Seeing that Mr. Ye didn’t react, the lust-struck omega stuck out his tongue, reached out to wrap his arms around the alpha’s neck, and smiled slyly.
“Mr. Ye, do you like this deposit? Are you satisfied?”
President Ye, still immersed in the massive impact of sweetness from being kissed by his baby for the first time, suddenly felt his little omega actively hugging him. Su Tang smiled and pressed a kiss directly onto his lips, soft and warm petals touching one another.
His little gentleman spoke as he kissed.
“This is the additional deposit.”
