Chapter 040: Brother Yu is Married?!
Ning Yang got a small trolley and loaded the big delivery box Wen Lang sent onto it. Sneakily avoiding his colleagues, he dragged the thing to the company warehouse.
Checking to ensure no one was around, Ning Yang found a small stool to sit on. He began to pluck every single strawberry from the bouquet and put them into the bag he had brought.
He, Ning Yang, a twenty-three-year-old male Omega, was a fanatical strawberry lover.
Even though he had no good feelings for that guy Wen Lang, his love for strawberries was real! These strawberries were big and fresh; they smelled delicious and surely tasted even better.
The problem was with Wen Lang; what did the strawberries have to do with it? It was more cost-effective to let them enter his own stomach.
He stripped all the strawberries from the bouquet in just a few minutes. Ning Yang looked at the full bag with satisfaction, clapped his hands, and threw everything else into the trash can.
After finishing everything and returning to his desk, he checked his phone and sure enough, there was a friend request from that guy Wen Lang. Ning Yang scoffed and clicked reject.
With a “ding,” that guy’s request came again, this time with a note attached.
[Yang Yang Baby, give me a chance. Did you not like the strawberries I sent? If you don’t like them, I’ll send you something else next time, okay?]
Ning Yang ruthlessly clicked reject again and sent Wen Lang a “Get lost.”
Five seconds later, the phone rang again. Frowning, Ning Yang reluctantly opened the request sent by that guy’s relentless pestering.
[Don’t be so heartless, Yang Yang~ Your best friend married my brother and became my sister-in-law. We’ll be seeing each other sooner or later~ Add me, add me, add me, add me~!]
This time he pressed reject without replying.
This cycle of Wen Lang applying and Ning Yang rejecting went on several times until that guy finally settled down.
“Sigh… finally quiet…”
Having been put through this by Wen Lang first thing in the morning, Ning Yang let out a long sigh. He glanced at the strawberries placed aside, then leaned back in his computer chair and stared blankly for a while.
Seeing the team leader come in, he hurriedly opened the work he hadn’t finished yesterday and continued grinding out drawings, throwing that damn mint-scented Alpha to the back of his mind.
…
SILENCE Brand Headquarters.
“Who is President Wen messaging? I’ve been talking to you about the spokesperson for ages, but your eyes haven’t left your phone. Can you be a bit reliable?”
Jiang Cong rolled his eyes at Wen Lang, who was sitting in the CEO’s chair, and took a sip of water.
Wen Lang had called him to the office first thing in the morning, saying he wanted to discuss the spokesperson for Moonlight. But after he came up, it was all Jiang Cong introducing the potential spokespersons he had scouted and their relevant information.
His throat was smoking from talking so much, yet Wen Lang kept his head down playing with his phone, not listening to a word he said.
“Stop barking. This bro is striving for the happiness of the second half of his life. Can you stop yapping endlessly here?”
Wen Lang, repeatedly rejected by Ning Yang, didn’t look too depressed. He glared at his good buddy and SILENCE Vice President, Jiang Cong, then yawned and stretched lazily.
Long accustomed to Wen Lang’s sharp tongue, hearing Wen Lang’s words immediately brought a gossipy expression to Jiang Cong’s face.
“What, is there a situation?”
The outside world might not know, but he, Jiang Cong, knew perfectly well.
Wen Lang—a top Alpha in both family background and appearance, a young and promising tycoon in the fashion industry—flirted with everyone he met. To anyone looking, he was a playboy.
Probably no one would believe if told that Wen Lang hadn’t dated once since childhood. Essentially, he was a “single dog from the womb.”
“There is a bit of a situation.”
Ning Yang’s little face spun around in Wen Lang’s mind. Just thinking about him made the corners of Wen Lang’s mouth rise uncontrollably. He looked at Jiang Cong somewhat smugly.
“Cong-er, let me tell you, that little guy’s personality is too spicy. He attacked me viciously at the drop of a hat, nearly kicking me into the hospital. But his pheromones just happen to be that sweet strawberry scent. I really, super like him!”
“Huh?!”
Jiang Cong’s partner, Su Ziyuan, was known for his gentle-as-water temperament. Hearing about the spicy-tempered mystery Omega from Wen Lang, his brain was filled only with shock.
Jiang Cong glanced with disgust at Wen Lang, whose face was flushed as if he were in rut. Someone beat him up, yet he liked them that much? Wasn’t this textbook masochism?
“Wen Lang, you have heavy tastes.”
“You don’t know sh*t!”
Wen Lang retorted without hesitation. He put away his phone and started talking business.
“I’ve already picked the Moonlight spokesperson.”
He calmly brewed himself a cup of coffee. His tall, upright figure stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window basking in the sun as he spoke leisurely.
“Hah?! Why didn’t you say so earlier?!”
Jiang Cong was stunned for a second, then so angry he wanted to vomit blood.
So he had introduced so many spokespersons he selected all morning, but this guy already had an idea in mind and didn’t tell him, letting him talk in vain for so long!
Wen Lang raised his eyebrows indifferently. “Wasn’t that to check how your taste is? The results prove that none of the people you picked are as suitable as the one in my hand.”
“Yo, talking so big. I’d like to see who it is.”
Interest piqued by Wen Lang’s words, Jiang Cong sat quietly on the sofa, waiting for Young Master Wen to open his golden mouth.
Throwing an iPad to Jiang Cong, Wen Lang smiled and sat opposite him.
“Isn’t this the TV drama my Yuan-Yuan is chasing recently? Why are you showing me this?”
“Cut the crap. Skip directly to 5 minutes 13 seconds, and also 10 minutes 35 seconds.”
Jiang Cong obediently scrubbed the progress bar. The noble, willful, yet clearly smiling Junior Brother Jiang Qingzhi immediately grabbed all his attention. After watching, his hands trembled with excitement. Wen Lang struck while the iron was hot and showed him the photo Su Tang had just posted on Weibo.
Too suitable. Whether in ancient costume or modern attire, this boy’s temperament was simply the destined spokesperson for Moonlight.
“Who is this?”
He had absolutely no impression of this face. It shouldn’t be a big star.
Hearing this, Wen Lang smiled even more smugly.
“My sister-in-law.”
“Oh, your sister-in-law…”
Jiang Cong nodded. Half a second later, his eyes widened violently, his face full of disbelief.
“Your sister-in-law?! Your biological brother’s wife?! Brother Yu is married?!!”
Wen Lang chuckled and patted his friend’s shoulder.
“Don’t get excited. It’s not like you got married, why are you so excited? Look at your unworldly appearance~”
Jiang Cong was completely petrified.
Good heavens. His Brother Yu, who lived like a pure-hearted ascetic monk all day, had silently married a small star!
“What, is this Omega pregnant with Brother Yu’s child, so Brother Yu was forced to marry?”
“What are you thinking?” Wen Lang lightly punched Jiang Cong. “Don’t say that in front of my brother, or he’ll definitely get angry.”
Jiang Cong continued to be confused. “Then why? How did Brother Yu go from no partner to directly married? This is too sudden. Did they know each other before?”
If nothing else, many Omegas from his family’s distant relatives were eyeing the unmarried eldest young master of the Ye family.
“Flash marriage, understand?”
Once Wen Lang started talking about his brother, his mouth couldn’t stop; he spilled everything.
“My brother fell in love with my sister-in-law at first sight! After marking my sister-in-law, he went home and told my dad and the others he wanted to get married. A couple of days later, he directly abducted my sister-in-law to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the certificate and brought him home to meet the parents.”
Oh my god, is this still the Brother Yu he knew?
Jiang Cong was dumbfounded.
“Look at your hopeless appearance!”
Wen Lang shook his head with disdain. A lightbulb flashed in his mind, and he patted Jiang Cong’s shoulder excitedly.
Jiang Cong looked innocent. “Ancestor, what now?”
The amount of information he received in this short time was too great.
“Tell me first, are you satisfied with my sister-in-law being the spokesperson?”
Jiang Cong nodded honestly. With Brother Yu’s wife’s temperament, the spokesperson role was definitely his.
Wen Lang smiled slyly, took out his phone, and prepared to call Su Tang.
“Prepare some gifts. Tonight, I’m taking you to my brother’s house to discuss the contract with my sister-in-law!”
Jiang Cong: What sin did I commit?
Su Tang was pushing a shopping cart, wandering through the supermarket’s fresh food section. Afraid of being recognized, he specifically wore a mask and a pair of black-rimmed glasses.
Wen Lang called and said he wanted to bring a friend over for dinner. Thinking that Mr. Ye was inviting people to the house tonight anyway, he agreed directly.
After hanging up, Su Tang remembered to ask Mr. Ye. Feeling a bit apprehensive, he sent a message to the Alpha.
[Mr. Ye, Wen Lang said he wants to bring a friend home for dinner tonight. Can they come?]
The Alpha’s message came back quickly.
[Tang Tang, there is something I probably need to remind you of. In our home, you have the final say on everything. I have no objections.]
One sentence made Su Tang smile until his eyes curved. He could almost see through the screen the gentle expression of his Alpha tapping out this line on his phone.
Mr. Ye says he’ll listen to me for everything.
The face hidden by the mask silently turned red. Su Tang smiled and replied “Okay,” then began selecting ingredients for a six-person dinner.
Fortunately, he had honed excellent culinary skills under the torture of his older sister, who couldn’t tell grains apart and whose cooking was like poisoning. Otherwise, he would really have to consider ordering takeout to entertain the guests.
Thinking that two of the guests were invited by Mr. Ye, upholding the principle of not losing face for Mr. Ye, Su Tang painfully bought a lot of high-end ingredients. Buying such expensive vegetables for the first time, the little money-grubber’s hand trembled slightly when paying.
As soon as he got home, Su Tang busied himself in the kitchen. Just as he finished preparing everything and placed the dishes on the dining table, the sound of the door opening rang out.
“Mr. Ye, you’re back~!”
Su Tang thought it was Ye Chiyu returning. He jogged excitedly all the way to the entryway. Then he saw his Mr. Ye, and the group of people behind him.
Too awkward…
The Omega, who had embarrassed himself in public, covered his completely red face and prepared to flee. But his Alpha pulled him into his arms, and the rich pheromones instantly soothed him.
Ye Chiyu turned around without changing his expression to look at the dumbfounded Jiang Cong, Tao Cheng, and the others. His large hand easily rubbed the small head buried shyly in his chest, and he spoke calmly.
“Allow me to introduce you. My husband, Su Tang.”
