Chapter 061: The Pretentious Unlucky Little Bear
Su Tang took the elevator directly to the underground garage. At his request, the courier delivered a super-large cardboard box to Ye Chiyu’s parking spot and left.
The occupancy rate of Jiang Ting wasn’t high; many basically bought the apartment and only came to stay once or twice a month. It seemed only two or three households had moved into their building in total, so he basically wouldn’t run into neighbors. Su Tang didn’t have to worry about being recognized.
Even so, he cautiously looked left and right to confirm no one was around before walking toward that super-large cardboard box.
Opening it revealed a super-large Rilakkuma mascot costume. Su Tang smiled as he unpacked it, then took out the keys to Ye Xiansheng‘s Passat, unlocked the car, and put his phone, coat, and other things in the back seat.
Su Tang had been picking out mascot costumes online long ago. He read many guides and racked his brains picking and choosing before finally settling on this Rilakkuma set, all for today’s arrival.
He had planned this for a long time, and everything was proceeding smoothly according to his plan.
Confirming Ye Xiansheng hadn’t discovered he was missing, Su Tang smiled triumphantly. After confirming the costume wasn’t damaged, he satisfyingly gave the seller a five-star rating.
This was a one-piece head-and-body mascot costume custom-made to his height. The director first stuffed his head in to confirm he could see and breathe before putting his legs in. Then he squatted down and zipped up the back zipper in a very awkward posture.
“Haha!”
Su Tang admired his transformed self in the side mirror and spun around happily a few times.
He was almost falling in love with himself. This costume was simply too cute; Ye Xiansheng would definitely like it!
He put all the prepared items into a super cute yellow chick crossbody bag. With the bag slung over him, Su Tang was in a good mood. Moving slightly inconveniently, he shuffled to the car door, preparing to call and summon Ye Xiansheng down.
This Rilakkuma costume was good in every way, except the fingers weren’t separated. When putting things in the bag, the inconvenience didn’t show, but when it came time to take the phone out to call, problems started arising.
The phone screen was slippery on both sides, and the costume fabric was furry.
Stick his butt out, Su Tang finally managed to hold the phone from the back seat with both hands. Before he could get a grip with one hand, the phone fell to the ground with a pa, and even disrespectfully slid directly under the car.
“You can’t be serious…”
Su Tang wanted to cry but had no tears. Reluctant to dirty the costume, he went aside intending to take the costume off and put it in the car first, then pick up the phone.
However, his hand movements were too hasty and he didn’t control his strength. The zipper on the back wasn’t made very well to begin with, and with a click, the zipper sounded.
Stuck…
Su Tang froze.
“……”
No way. Just praised this costume’s quality, how did the zipper get stuck directly?!
Then how do I get out…
Su Tang never expected that living more than 20 years, he would be trapped by a piece of clothing. While he was spinning around helplessly, he happened to be seen by a security guard in the monitoring room.
The guard quickly patted the person next to him. “Hey, look at this person wearing such strange clothes spinning around in the garage. Could it be a thief?!”
The other guard looked up at the monitor in confusion, just in time to see that strange guy suddenly walk to an owner’s car, squat down, and reach out as if feeling for something under the car.
He slapped his thigh and quickly called people to go catch the person.
“Not good! Afraid a thief got in!”
“Look at that guy acting so sneakily, he must be trying to steal something from the owner’s car!”
The guards knew well what kind of people lived in Jiang Ting. Logically speaking, with the community’s security usually so strict, outsiders shouldn’t be able to get in, let alone a thief dressed so strangely.
Could there be a loophole in their security system?!
Leaving one person to call and notify the property manager, they called others and went to the underground garage shown on the monitor together.
The guards arrived at the garage quickly, just in time to see the person in the mascot costume already lying on the ground. Maybe because the costume was too big, the large head and butt were stuck outside, appearing to reach under the car for something.
A sharp-eyed one even discovered that a door of the owner’s car was open, with things scattered messily on the back seat—looks like it was ransacked by a thief!
“What are you doing?! Crawl out immediately!”
Several guards shouted. Su Tang’s head was too heavy to turn. Before he could react, he was pulled up by a group of strange uncles in security uniforms. One of them even twisted his arm behind his back, immobilizing him directly.
What is the situation here???
The mascot costume only had two holes to see through. Su Tang wanted to turn his head to see what was happening. Seeing him turn, the guard thought he wanted to run and immediately held his hand with more force.
Su Tang’s little face twisted in pain. Separated by thick cotton, he couldn’t hear clearly what the other party was saying, so he could only beg for mercy with a mournful face.
“Uncle! Be gentle, hand hurts!!!”
Hearing a young person’s voice, the guard gave a ‘hey’: “You little thief, caught red-handed by us, right? Daring to come to our community to steal instead of going elsewhere!”
“Stealing?” Su Tang was completely out of the loop, but at least knew to clarify he wasn’t a thief. “I didn’t, I didn’t steal anything, I live here.”
His words entering the guard uncle’s ears now were like a mental patient telling a doctor he wasn’t sick. Without giving Su Tang time to argue, they found the owner’s information for this car and called.
It didn’t ring twice before being hung up. The guard gave a questioning ‘eh’. “Why not answering the phone?”
The light in Su Tang’s eyes lit up and extinguished. His heart was with the guard uncle right now, praying internally for Ye Xiansheng to answer the phone and save him.
The guard didn’t give up and called again, putting it on speaker.
“Hello.”
The Alpha’s familiar voice came from the receiver. Su Tang couldn’t care less if Ye Xiansheng would be angry. Flustered and anxious, before the guard could speak, he miserably called for Ye Xiansheng to come down and save him.
“Tangtang, where are you?”
Su Tang said he was in the underground garage, and the Alpha hung up directly.
The guards looked at each other: “……”
Su Tang’s hand was going numb. He sighed: “Uncle, I’m really not a thief. Just let go of me first, okay? Dressed like this, my movement is restricted. With so many of you surrounding me, I can’t run away, right?”
The guards looked at each other, felt Su Tang made sense, and released him.
Finally liberated, Su Tang moved his arm, which was sore from being held too long. Thinking of seeing Ye Xiansheng soon, he suddenly regretted his plan today.
It was clearly a good day, but he messed it up like this.
The Omega, who hadn’t been sad when caught, felt discouraged. Drooping his little bear head, his whole person suddenly wilted.
The elevator doors opened, and the tall, handsome Alpha walked out. Su Tang managed to lift his little bear head to look at his Ye Xiansheng through the two holes, his eyes reddening unpromisingly.
Ye Chiyu also hadn’t figured out yet what the little guy wanted to do dressed like this, but he still shielded Su Tang behind him immediately, holding his hand while understanding the sequence of events from the guards.
Realizing it was a misunderstanding, the guards apologized repeatedly to Su Tang. The little guy waved his hand listlessly, saying it was fine; dressing like this indeed made it easy for people to misunderstand.
Ye Chiyu didn’t pursue the matter, and the guards quickly withdrew. Su Tang’s hand was held tight by the Alpha, tears swirling in his eyes.
The Alpha squeezed the little bear’s paw, speaking gently: “Our family’s Tangtang dressed so cutely, did you want to give me a surprise?”
Su Tang curled his lip, gave an “En,” and threw himself forward to hug the Alpha’s waist tightly, refusing to let go.
Trapped inside the bear suit, Su Tang called out “Ye Xiansheng” pitifully through the headgear, his voice muffled.
Sensing Su Tang’s emotions, Ye Chiyu gave an “En,” patting his little Omega’s back stroke by stroke. “Be good, I’m here.”
Su Tang was mad at himself. He felt like he messed everything up. Suddenly twisting his body, he took a step back, turned around to show his back to his Alpha, his voice carrying a sobbing tone.
“The zipper broke, I can’t undo it…!”
Hearing the little guy’s grievance, Ye Chiyu quickly went up to help Su Tang. After a good while, he finally smoothed out the stuck zipper on the back of the mascot costume.
Like coaxing a child, Ye Chiyu’s expression was gentle, even his voice soft, afraid of scaring his little guy.
“Alright, Tangtang can come out now.”
Su Tang took off the headgear somewhat angrily. Because he had been inside too long, his hair was wet with sweat. His small face was flushed red, nose tip and eyes also red, looking pitifully on the verge of crying.
The Alpha squatted down, his large hand grasping the Omega’s ankle and lifting gently. Only then did Su Tang fully separate from this Rilakkuma, turning into a soul-lost unlucky bear.
Su Tang sniffled, pointed at the Passat, pouted his little mouth, and looked ready to cry: “Phone also fell under the car…”
The Alpha quickly and obediently went to retrieve the little guy’s phone from under the car and placed it back in Su Tang’s palm, not caring at all that his pants got dirty from kneeling on the ground.
Seeing his pristine Ye Xiansheng made dusty by his errands, Su Tang felt even more guilty. Suddenly, he felt he had been too pretentious just now.
But fortunately, he hadn’t forgotten the main business. After throwing the mascot costume into the car with the Alpha as if to vent his anger, he took out the item he had prepared long ago from the crossbody bag. At the door of their home, he held the Alpha’s hand and slid a small ring onto the Alpha’s ring finger.
“Ye Xiansheng, Happy Birthday.”
Su Tang carefully raised his eyes, looking at his Alpha, and spoke softly.
