Chapter 85: Guilty With You
Due to the doctor’s warning that the fetus was very unstable during the first trimester, Su Tang was kept under Ye Chiyu’s airtight protection as soon as they returned home from the hospital.
Even when simply going up or down the stairs, Ye Xiansheng was incredibly nervous. He insisted on holding Su Tang’s hand to feel at ease. The Alpha even followed him closely just to go to the bathroom, as if terrified that Su Tang might slip and fall while he wasn’t around.
“Ye Xiansheng, I’m pregnant, not terminally ill, so you don’t need to…”
Su Tang’s face was flushed as he used the toilet under the Alpha’s watchful gaze. Before he could finish his sentence, he met Ye Chiyu’s eyes, which looked innocent and wounded. The second half of his words was forcefully swallowed back into his stomach.
Ye Chiyu frowned slightly, pulling the Omega’s hand toward him and apologetically kissing the back of it.
“Sorry, Tangtang. I’m just too nervous.”
How could Su Tang possibly withstand such a soft, gentle offensive from the Alpha? With just one sentence from Ye Xiansheng, he easily surrendered, allowing the tall Alpha to follow him around as his personal bodyguard.
“Ye Xiansheng, shouldn’t we tell my sister and my fathers about the pregnancy?”
After being followed by the Alpha for half the day, Su Tang had grown accustomed to it. Although the pregnancy was confirmed, his body hadn’t shown any reactions yet. It was only now, as the entire afternoon had nearly passed since returning from the hospital, that Su Tang belatedly realized he should notify his family.
The two of them had already finished dinner. After putting the dishes into the dishwasher, Ye Chiyu lazily reclined on the sofa with his little Omega in his arms. Together, they watched the initial rough cut of Undercurrent that Director Chu had provided that morning.
The sun had already set, and the faint light from outside filtered into the living room. Su Tang and Ye Chiyu were bathed in the shifting shadows of the screen. The Alpha’s sharp, handsome features and the Omega’s exquisite, delicate face blended together to form a beautiful scenery.
Su Tang looked up from the Alpha’s arms, smiling as he reached out a finger to touch the slight stubble emerging on Ye Chiyu’s chin. It prickled his finger just a little—it was fun to play with.
“It’s too late today. Let’s not rush to tell Father, otherwise, he might get too excited and suffer from insomnia tonight, which would be bad for his health.”
“Oh, you’re right. Ye Xiansheng, you’re always so thoughtful. Besides, I’ve been cooped up at home lately and haven’t gone to see Dad and Father.”
Ye Chiyu easily captured the little Omega’s mischievous hand and kissed the fingertips. “Even though you haven’t gone to the old residence, haven’t you been chatting with them on WeChat every day? However, you can tell your sister first.”
He just didn’t know if Su Bing would be happy or furious upon hearing that her Tangtang had gotten pregnant at such a young age.
Even though Su Bing was slightly younger than him, perhaps from being around Su Tang for so long and being influenced by him, even the normally fearless Ye Chiyu was starting to feel a rare trace of apprehension toward Su Bing.
Su Tang blinked as he thought for a moment, eventually deciding to report his situation to his elder sister.
The Alpha conscientiously muted the movie. Su Tang sat up slightly in the Alpha’s arms with a trace of nervousness and dialed Su Bing’s number.
The phone rang for a long time without anyone answering. Just as he was wondering if Su Bing was too busy to check her phone and was about to hang up, the call connected.
“Su Tang?”
A somewhat familiar male voice came from the receiver. Su Tang, who had the call on speaker, was stunned. He lowered his head in confusion to confirm that he had indeed dialed Su Bing’s number. His brain momentarily short-circuited.
“Brother Jiang?!”
Why would Jiang Cha answer his sister’s phone? The relationship between these two was completely unrelated, wasn’t it?
“How could you…”
Before Su Tang could finish asking, Jiang Cha saw Su Bing coming out of the bathroom after her shower. He smiled and waved the phone. “Su Tang is calling. He probably has something to say to you. Want to take it?”
Su Tang used mouth shapes to ask the Alpha what was going on. Ye Chiyu shrugged, indicating he didn’t know.
“What is it, you brat? Calling your elder sister at this hour. If you have something to say, say it; if you have a fart to let out, let it out.”
Su Bing sat down unceremoniously on the bed. She took the phone from Jiang Cha’s hand and spoke with a hint of impatience. Her gaze kept roaming over the man, who was only wearing a bath towel, and she calmly winked at Jiang Cha.
“Sister, why is Brother Jiang with you?”
Interrupted by Jiang Cha’s appearance, Su Tang had completely forgotten the main purpose of his call. As soon as Su Bing spoke, he asked somewhat urgently.
“What’s wrong with him being here? I’m a grown woman. Isn’t it normal to have some ambiguity with a man?”
Su Bing spoke nonchalantly, her finger hooking into the Beta’s bath towel. With a gentle tug, Jiang Cha smiled and walked toward her.
“But,” Su Tang still hadn’t received an answer and was still perplexed, “are you two together?”
It wasn’t that he didn’t like Jiang Cha, but he had grown up with Su Bing. The thought of his solitary sister having another man by her side made him feel a slight twinge of jealousy.
Furthermore, he was truly curious about how his sister and Jiang Cha knew each other—they hadn’t even gone through him as a middleman.
Even though the person involved was right in front of her, Su Bing didn’t care at all. She even used a bit of strength to force Jiang Cha to lie down on the bed first.
“Would you believe me if I said he and I are old classmates who haven’t seen each other in centuries? When we were young, we had feelings but didn’t understand love. Now that we’ve reunited, it’s like dry wood meeting a raging fire—we just ignited. Understand?”
Su Bing’s kiss fell upon the Beta. Jiang Cha’s eyes were full of smiles; he loved Su Bing’s boldness and passion.
Su Tang processed Su Bing’s words in his head several times. Only after a good while did he awkwardly respond, “Uh, I… understand?”
“None of that matters. My business isn’t for you to worry about. You didn’t call just to talk about this, did you? Hurry up, brat. I have urgent business to attend to.”
Her man was all washed and lying on the bed waiting for her; of course she was in a hurry to get down to business.
Reminded by his sister, Su Tang finally remembered his purpose. However, his heart was a bit fearful of his sister getting angry. He ummed and ah-ed for quite a while without saying anything substantial, making Su Bing nearly lose her patience and hang up.
The Alpha gently patted Su Tang’s back and whispered in his ear that there was no need to worry and that he was there. This finally gave Su Tang a sense of reassurance.
“Sister.”
Su Tang bit his lip.
Su Bing’s tone already carried a hint of murderous intent: “Speak.”
Su Tang scratched his head. Why did the fact that he was pregnant suddenly feel so hard to voice?
“It’s… I, I…”
Su Bing bit Jiang Cha’s lip somewhat fiercely. She impatiently held the phone and issued a final ultimatum: “You what?!”
Ye Chiyu spoke calmly: “Su Bing, Tangtang is pregnant. We called just to let you know. You go back to your busy work. See you later.”
The moment he finished speaking, he snapped the phone shut. Then, his cowardly little guy immediately threw himself into his arms, muttering softly, “What should we do, Ye Xiansheng? Will my sister come over and punish me directly?”
A flash marriage and now a pregnancy; even he felt like he wasn’t a younger brother who made things easy for others.
Ye Chiyu gave a shallow smile, sealing the Omega’s lips with an incredibly tender kiss.
“Then I am an accomplice. I am guilty with you.”
