Not a Dodder Flower Omega, But a Top-Tier Mecha Master Chapter 1.2

Part 2

Hearing that voice, Bai Mu felt an indescribable surge of joy. Just a moment ago, he felt he had walked into a dead end, but he hadn’t expected a turning point to arrive so quickly.

What had landed on his shoulder wasn’t just a ladybug—it was his mecha!

This ladybug mecha was something he created after moving into the Chief Mecha Master’s office on his first day. He had found a small ladybug on his desk, which inspired this mecha form. It was embedded with an intelligent system, allowing him to communicate with it through his consciousness. At the time, it was the most advanced light mecha, but after creating countless others, this little ladybug had naturally been forgotten.

When he was detained by the military for treason, they had confiscated all his mecha equipment and thermal weapons. Only this little ladybug, hiding in some unknown corner, had escaped notice and managed to stay by his side.

The little ladybug flickered its wings twice. Its voice traveled through the auditory nerves at the back of his neck into his ear: “Master, your outfit today is so special. Are you going on a date with an Alpha? I’m so happy for you.”

Bai Mu: “…”

This artificial idiot!

Compared to Bai Mu’s perennial black military uniform and white shirt, today’s attire was indeed special enough. No wonder this idiotic ladybug was so surprised.

The joy Bai Mu had just felt was instantly doused by the ladybug’s words.

Could such a moronic little bug really help him escape the casino? Bai Mu felt unsure.

He turned his head to look at Black Monkey. The man was busy dealing with the bidders and wasn’t paying attention to him for the moment. He had even let go of the collar’s chain, likely assuming this weak Omega couldn’t possibly escape his grasp.

The little ladybug was his only hope. Bai Mu tested the waters: “Little… Little… Piao?”

He couldn’t even remember if he had ever given it a name.

“Master, you really don’t love me anymore. You used to call me Bug-baby,” the little ladybug said.

The corner of Bai Mu’s mouth twitched. Ignoring the ladybug’s complaints, he asked, “Xiao Piao, tell me where we are.”

The ladybug replied, “Ponce Casino.”

Xiao Piao simply stated the name mechanically, but Bai Mu was shocked to hear it. Ponce Casino was one of the four most famous casinos in the Hongdu Galaxy. Even someone like him, who never touched gambling, knew of its reputation. Bai Mu thought further—this casino was located in—

Laea City!

The notorious city of sin!

How had he ended up here? Laea City was located in an asteroid belt on the edge of the galaxy, far beyond the Empire’s reach. Due to its unique geography, it had become the galaxy’s most famous lawless land—a playground for the wicked and a sanctuary for violent criminals. Here, every crime was permitted: human trafficking, illegal weaponry, prohibited drugs… as long as you had money, anything could be traded.

So, being publicly auctioned in Laea City wasn’t surprising at all.

However, Bai Mu had no memory of how he had arrived here or how he had fallen into the hands of human traffickers. His last memory in the Empire was the moment the particle beam pierced his eyes. The next thing he knew, he was being displayed in this casino window.

But now was clearly not the time for reminiscence. Bai Mu pushed aside his countless questions and spoke to Xiao Piao again: “I need you to scout the layout of this casino—all entrances, exits, and security defenses.”

“Understood, Master. Oh, by the way, Xiao Piao thinks your outfit today might make the Alpha you’re dating think you’re a bit… frivolous.”

Bai Mu: “…”

“One hundred million Credits! Any more bidders?” Black Monkey shouted, unable to hide his glee.

Bai Mu looked over. The one who had bid a hundred million was the elderly Alpha who had pointed out his blindness. King Anga looked determined to win, the gemstone cane in his hand showcasing his power and wealth.

Such an astronomical price caused the other bidders to fall silent. This price had refreshed Black Monkey’s highest record for selling an Omega. Although others were unwilling, how could they compete in wealth with a King who owned red crystal mines on his planet?

“Going once… King Anga bids one hundred million. Any other offers?” Black Monkey scanned the crowd.

No one spoke.

“Fine. This Omega belongs to you, Your Majesty.” Black Monkey smiled at King Anga while pulling out his light computer to demand immediate payment.

King Anga waved a hand to his bodyguards, who stepped forward to process the transaction.

The Alphas who didn’t win began to whisper. Those who could afford to spend time in a Laea City casino were either nobles or plutocrats; they were naturally frustrated at losing an Omega. Someone sneered, “I say, old King, didn’t you just bid on an Omega last month? Did you play him to death already?”

Another chimed in, “Exactly. How long do you plan to play with this one? If you get bored, would you consider passing him on? Assuming he’s still alive, of course…”

Laughter broke out, but the old King remained unmoved. His cloudy eyes were fixed on Bai Mu’s long, straight legs. At that moment, Bai Mu was still kneeling on the ground in a very suggestive posture, watching the bodyguard swipe the card.

Once the payment was finished, the old King stepped forward. Black Monkey opened the window’s biometric lock and handed the chain of the collar over to the King.

Now is the time. During the handover, both Black Monkey and the old King would be at their most relaxed. This was the only window of opportunity he could find.

He had chosen to endure Black Monkey’s crude torture and the crowd’s wanton humiliation solely for this moment—to make everyone believe he was weak and easily bullied, causing them to lower their guard.

Bai Mu whispered to the ladybug on his shoulder, “Xiao Piao, take down the crystal chandelier!”

“Xiao Piao understands!” With a flutter of its wings, the ladybug charged straight for the chandelier, severing the iron chain holding it to the ceiling. The massive crystal chandelier crashed to the floor, and the casino instantly plunged into darkness. The situation shifted in a heartbeat as the crowd began to flee in panic.

Chaos erupted. Poker chips scattered everywhere, tables and chairs were knocked over by the frantic crowd, and the air was filled with curses and the sounds of people being trampled.

Under the protection of his bodyguards, the old King tried to flee in panic. Bai Mu took advantage of the chaos to try and snatch the chain from the King’s hand, but the old man gripped it tightly, refusing to let go. In the struggle, the electric current struck Bai Mu’s gland again. The pain was too intense; Bai Mu gave up on the struggle. He could only follow the old King as the ladybug flew back toward him. He was about to order Xiao Piao to attack the King when—

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

Immediately, a warm, foul-smelling liquid sprayed across Bai Mu’s face. It was fresh blood.

The old King had been shot in the forehead and collapsed to the ground.

What happened? He hadn’t given the order to Xiao Piao yet. Although the old lecher was his next target, this shot clearly wasn’t Xiao Piao’s doing.

Was it a rival of the King, or someone else?

Bai Mu had no way of knowing who had fired in the chaos, but he wouldn’t let this perfect opportunity go. Taking advantage of the bodyguards’ panic, he endured the pain to snatch the chain, pressed a button, and with a click, the collar opened.

Bai Mu finally broke free from the collar’s restraint. His gland still stung like needles, but he no longer had to endure it!

The crowd fled like sheep scattered by a wolf. Only Bai Mu stood in the darkness, clutching the collar and searching with effort. Black Monkey was tall and not hard to spot; he had already fled toward a safety exit. Being more familiar with the casino’s layout than the gamblers, and aided by his large build, he shoved aside anyone in his way. Just as he was about to enter the exit, Bai Mu ordered, “Xiao Piao, the left exit, the man in front!”

In the blink of an eye, the ladybug reached Black Monkey. As if knowing this was the person who had bullied its master, it playfully flew back and forth in front of the man’s eyes. Black Monkey didn’t know what it was and swung his hand to swat it away.

“Ah—!”

A blood-curdling scream pierced through the chaotic crowd and into Bai Mu’s ears.

Bai Mu walked toward Black Monkey with unsteady steps. A large hole had appeared in the center of the man’s palm; the ladybug had bored straight through it. Blood flowed incessantly, dripping onto the floor in a puddle.

Black Monkey’s arm shook violently, but he still struggled to run toward the stairs of the emergency exit. Seeing the accident here, the crowd stopped swarming toward this exit. Thus, only Black Monkey remained at the exit, along with a dark-faced Bai Mu following behind him.

Black Monkey accelerated his escape. Xiao Piao dove down, piercing straight through the back of Black Monkey’s knee. With another scream, Black Monkey’s knee slammed heavily onto the hard floor, and he collapsed.

“Son of a btch! What the fck is this thing?!”

While cursing, Black Monkey dragged one leg along the floor, leaving a trail of blood. He looked pathetic. Bai Mu slowly approached him from behind, slipped the collar over Black Monkey’s neck, and pressed the maximum current button.

The electricity emitted brilliant colors in the dark, finally converging on Black Monkey’s gland and bursting into a spark. Bai Mu had set it to the highest level. Black Monkey’s back shivered continuously as he turned around to look at Bai Mu, who was holding the chain. Upon seeing Bai Mu’s face, terror filled Black Monkey’s expression. Bai Mu yanked the collar tight—just as Black Monkey had done to him—while the current continued to discharge. Black Monkey’s teeth chattered, and his entire body shook like a sieve.

Bai Mu looked down at him with disdain, his eyes cold. “How does it feel? Not bad, right?”
