Not a Dodder Flower Omega, But a Top-Tier Mecha Master Chapter 10.2

Part 2

The main control panel emitted an alarm.

Both of them shuddered violently. Hearing the alarm, Bai Mu immediately got off Han Naijin and walked toward the panel. With his back to Han Naijin, his stiff spine finally relaxed, and his racing heart finally settled.

With that alarm, all the tense and ambiguous atmosphere instantly vanished. Han Naijin also stood up, buttoning the shirt he had just undone. However, he still kept one hand in his pocket as he walked with a model-like gait to the bathroom. Only after flushing those three “time bombs” down the toilet did his mind feel at ease.

When Han Naijin walked out of the bathroom, Bai Mu was already focused on the mecha. The virtual beam from the screen hit Bai Mu’s face, making his already pale skin look even more translucent. His expression was somewhat cold, completely devoid of his earlier seductive blurriness, as he stared down at the screen.

Han Naijin actually felt a bit of an indescribable feeling in his heart.

Han Naijin also approached Bai Mu. Bai Mu looked up, unable to hide the excitement in his eyes. Even his tone rose slightly: “I’ve found the cause of the coordinate system failure! Look—”

Han Naijin asked, “Where is the problem?”

Bai Mu pointed to several red lines on the panel. “Right here.”

Bai Mu transcribed the entire segment of code and held the piece of paper in his hands, staring at it without blinking.

Han Naijin was ignored once again. In Bai Mu’s eyes, there was only the mecha.

After looking for a while, Bai Mu laid out several more sheets of paper on the floor and began to write and sketch. Soon, several pages were filled. Bai Mu looked up and said to Han Naijin, “I’ve found all the causes of the coordinate system failure. I’ll start designing the repair plan now. Tomorrow morning, I will certainly be able to announce the repair plan to everyone.”

Han Naijin didn’t really doubt his words.

He had gained a general understanding of Bai Mu’s character. This Omega appeared fragile and easily broken, but his heart was actually very resilient. When it came to his area of expertise, he was extremely certain and confident. Facing everyone’s mockery and laughter, he was neither humble nor arrogant, remaining composed and quiet. But his strength was enough to crush everyone. Moreover, his level of obsession with a task was something Han Naijin admired—like now, he was so immersed in the mecha repair that he cut off everything around him, even forgetting it was already late at night.

It was already past midnight. Having just identified the problem, he said he wanted to formulate the repair plan. Does he plan to stay up all night?

From the looks of it, he truly did.

But Han Naijin was beginning to struggle. Drowsiness kept hitting him, and his eyelids felt stuck together.

The question in Bai Mu’s mind had yet to be answered: what exactly was Han Naijin doing in his room? If it was for humanitarian reasons, considering he was helping repair mechas, accompanying him for dinner made sense. But the meal was finished, and the takeaway boxes were already packed and set aside. Shouldn’t he take the boxes and go back to his own room to rest?

It was a perfectly logical progression.

There were no logical errors.

Yet Han Naijin showed no sign of leaving. What was he doing? According to the current progress, he would likely be up all night. Did Han Naijin plan to hunker down in his room the whole night?

Should he remind him? But kicking him out didn’t seem right—after all, even this house belonged to Han Naijin. After thinking it over, Bai Mu decided to be subtle.

Bai Mu pressed the pause button and looked back at Han Naijin, whose head was tilted back against the bedside, his breathing already deep. He walked over and whispered, “Officer?”

“Hmm?” A muddled sound came from Han Naijin.

“Sleeping on the floor isn’t comfortable, is it? Why don’t you go back to your room?” Bai Mu deliberately emphasized the words “go back to your room.”

“Hmm.”

Han Naijin only seemed to answer with that one syllable. But Bai Mu felt it wasn’t an answer, just a reflexive response in his sleep. Han Naijin might not even know what he was saying.

But in the next instant, Bai Mu retracted his earlier thought. Han Naijin did know what he was saying, but he only processed the first half: “sleeping on the floor isn’t comfortable.” Because he wobbled as he stood up, pulled back the blanket, and collapsed straight onto the bed!

Bai Mu almost died of anger!

Bai Mu struggled internally for a long time. Looking at the person sleeping soundly on the bed, he really wanted to pull him up and throw him out.

But he still had so much work to do and couldn’t afford a single moment. Helplessly, Bai Mu had to let Han Naijin stay in his bed.

Bai Mu turned back to the touchscreen and continued designing the repair plan.

Han Naijin opened his eyes a tiny crack. Seeing that Bai Mu had given up on the idea of kicking him out, he rolled over, his stomach twitching with suppressed laughter.

When he heard Bai Mu’s subtle reminder for him to go back to his room, he had indeed planned to get up and go. But then, he suddenly changed his mind. A certain unspeakable emotion grew in his heart like a poisonous weed, taking root and sprouting, burrowing into the hidden corners of his mind.

He was currently sleeping in an Omega’s bed, yet he didn’t feel much shame or guilt. Instead, he felt a faint sense of pride and satisfaction. The bed was filled with the Omega’s crisp, sweet pheromones; the scent was very pleasant. He took a deep breath. Smelling this scent, he truly fell asleep.

Bai Mu witnessed the sky turn from dark to light. He stretched his back and picked up the coordinate system repair plan he had organized—a thick stack of paper filled with various notations and codes, along with many sketches. He stood up and walked to the bed, looking at the Alpha who had occupied it.

The man was still sleeping soundly, his hair messy from sleep, but it still couldn’t hide that exquisite face. His breathing was steady, and he looked peaceful in sleep. For a moment, his resentment toward an Alpha sleeping in his bed all night vanished.

Just as Bai Mu was wondering whether to wake him up, the person on the bed opened his eyes, a trace of a suppressed smile at the corner of his mouth. Han Naijin spoke with a bit of “morning crankiness”: “Haven’t seen enough yet?”

He’s been awake for a while. He knew he had been standing by the bed watching him.

Bai Mu’s breathing stalled for a second, but he showed no outward reaction. He casually shifted his gaze from Han Naijin’s face, scanning the bed from head to foot. He said in a polite tone, “Officer, may I ask where the used sheets should be taken for washing?”

Han Naijin: “…”

With that, Bai Mu turned and crouched down again to organize his notes on the floor, even though they were already neatly arranged and didn’t need organizing.

The person on the bed, however, was quite comfortable. He sat up wrapped in the blanket, stretching and yawning for a while before getting out of bed and entering the bathroom. In just a few minutes, he walked out of the bathroom looking like an elite again—except for the extra wrinkles on his shirt.

Seeing Han Naijin come out, Bai Mu also stood up and went to the bathroom to wash up.

His reflection in the bathroom mirror looked a bit terrifying—a sickly, haggard face, pale and lacking vitality. Before these incidents, although he was thin, he was quite healthy. But now, his reflection looked frail and sickly. His natural temperament was cold and detached. Such a bland face was never the type that Alphas liked.

Bai Mu let out a self-deprecating laugh. He couldn’t change his temperament in just a few minutes. Bai Mu decided to give up on himself. He performed a simple wash and walked out of the bathroom. Aside from the dampened locks of hair on his forehead, he had barely changed.

Han Naijin was sitting on the sofa toying with his light computer. Seeing him come out, he asked softly, “Finished washing?”

Bai Mu nodded.

“Then let’s go.” Han Naijin stood up from the sofa, straightened his clothes, and opened the door.

Then, Bai Mu saw this scene—

Seven or eight people were blocking his doorway. There were Situ and Qiao, whom he knew, and several others he didn’t know but found familiar, knowing they were often around Han Naijin. Some were leaning against the wall, some were huddled together whispering, some were playing with their light computers… they were in all sorts of postures and shapes. Not a single person was standing properly like a soldier. For a moment, Bai Mu felt as if these people were zombies infected by a virus.

But after hearing the door open, the reaction of these “suspected zombies” was surprisingly consistent. Their gazes continuously shifted between the two of them. Then, they looked at the wrinkled shirt on Han Naijin’s body, as if they understood something.

Bai Mu looked back at Han Naijin. Han Naijin didn’t hide from these gazes at all—he even reached back to rub his lower back.

Rubbing his back! What the fck!*

Once he rubbed his back, the expressions on those several people became even more “colorful.”

Explain yourself!

Bai Mu tried to communicate with Han Naijin through his eyes, but Han Naijin automatically shielded his gaze. He only said casually, “Why are you all here?”

Situ said seriously, “Isn’t it to save time?”

But the expression on Situ’s face clearly said, “I just came to see the show and brought everyone along.”

Han Naijin didn’t care at all and held a short meeting right at the door. “Today, Situ will still take Luo Yi…”

Han Naijin turned back to look at Bai Mu. Bai Mu now refused to have any communication with him.

Han Naijin shrugged and continued to the others, “Situ will take Luo Yi to the mecha base. I have meetings here this morning. Old Ji, you continue to the Road Administration to push for the Independence Day traffic security. Mike, go to the City Defense Bureau to communicate regarding Independence Day security. Xiao Chu, go to the Starship Port and check Pier No. 3…”

In a few sentences, Han Naijin sent four or five people away. Now only Situ and Qiao remained. Qiao looked at Han Naijin expectantly, waiting for a task. Han Naijin rubbed Qiao’s head and said, “Go tell Lauren to put less cream in the cream of mushroom soup. It was a bit cloying last night.”

Situ lowered his head and laughed quietly.

“I’m going back to my room to change. That’s all. Dismissed!” With that, Han Naijin went upstairs.

Bai Mu stared at the retreating figure until it vanished at the stairs. If looks could kill, Han Naijin would have been sliced a thousand times by now.

Is it really that hard to explain?!
