Chapter 3: Stubborn Mouth

Still angry?

That’s a bit petty, isn’t it?

He’s the one who got stabbed!

Seeing Li Qi’s little actions, Chen Jiamu felt ignored, a nameless fire burning in his heart. But remembering Chen Cheng’s words about Li Qi’s mental state…

The nascent flame quickly died down. This solitary child was truly pitiful…

Sighing silently, Chen Jiamu gave Chen Cheng a reassuring look and then ushered her out of the ward.

“I’ll definitely apologize properly. Don’t worry!”

Hearing this, Chen Cheng could only anxiously sit in the living room with the nurse.

The nurse poured her a glass of water and then went about her business…

In the ward, Chen Jiamu lightly walked to Li Qi’s bed. He wanted to pull up a chair, but after looking around, he realized there weren’t any chairs in the ward…

He thought, no wonder there were so many chairs in the living room, all with soft cushions…

Without a chair, Chen Jiamu sat down heavily on the end of the bed, but unexpectedly, his weight landed directly on Li Qi’s leg…

Li Qi was awakened by the pain. Their eyes met, and Chen Jiamu’s face turned red with embarrassment. His eyes darted around, then he awkwardly laughed, “Sorry, no chairs.”

“You… didn’t hurt yourself, did you?”

Actually, Chen Jiamu felt that he had sat down quite forcefully…

Li Qi didn’t speak; his messy hair covered his face, revealing only his gloomy eyes.

His black pupils stared straight at him. The silence made Chen Jiamu’s back prickle with unease…

This wasn’t like the solitary personality disorder he’d read about!

“I accept your apology, get out.”

Li Qi forcefully pulled his leg away, suppressing the urge to punch him. Sitting on his leg without moving his butt, and then asking if he was hurt…

It was simply crazy…

Chen Jiamu felt a little unreal that he had completed Chen Cheng’s task so easily.

After a long silence, he tentatively said, “That, about the other day, we both were wrong. It was wrong of me to have people hold you down. But you can’t stab me either. Of course, I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just mean, let’s let that day pass, and don’t dwell on it.”

“People need to maintain an optimistic attitude to be happy, especially since your family is so rich, you shouldn’t dwell on it and do something foolish.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you at City University from now on; absolutely no one will dare bully you again.”

“Just study hard and make progress every day!”

“Shut up, get out!”

Chen Jiamu was talkative, counting on his fingers, and finally patting his chest.

Li Qi couldn’t take it anymore and kicked him, hoping to shut him up.

Unexpectedly, Chen Jiamu became even more energetic. With a familiar air, he grabbed Li Qi’s leg and said earnestly, “My wound is just healing; don’t kick my leg, or I’ll be in pain for another ten or twenty days.”

“Besides, you have an IV drip on your hand. If you use that much force, what if it causes bleeding?”

Saying this, he stood up to check the IV drip. In Chen Jiamu’s subconscious mind, he automatically classified Li Qi as a sufferer of a severe personality disorder.

Although it didn’t quite seem like it, Chen Cheng said he was in a special situation and didn’t have a father around when he was young. His mentality would naturally be affected.

The IV bag was transparent, and Chen Jiamu couldn’t see anything unusual.

“It’s almost finished; I’ll call someone for you.”

Chen Jiamu squeezed the tube and was about to turn around when his arm bumped into the IV stand, and there was a clang!

The IV bag fell on Li Qi’s face.

Their eyes met, and Chen Jiamu couldn’t speak. His mind was filled with only one thought: pick up the bag and hang it back!

But just as he picked it up, his fingertips touched Li Qi’s cheek, cold…

Pale face, cold cheek…

Chen Jiamu’s hand trembled unconsciously, and the bag fell again.

This time it hit Li Qi’s brow bone directly, the needle puncturing his eye corner. When Chen Jiamu picked it up again, there was a red mark on Li Qi’s eye corner…

“Really sorry, my hands are a bit unruly.”

Chen Jiamu’s face turned the color of pig liver; he had never been so speechless in his life.

Such a dramatic scene actually happened to him. Li Qi, even after being hit, remained still, his hollow eyes staring at Chen Jiamu.

He didn’t understand what he was trying to do…

Finally, he hung it back up, and in the process, the fluid in the bag was nearly gone.

The moment he looked down, the red blood back flowing in Li Qi’s vein startled him…

It really was bleeding back!

“Your hand!”

“Ah!”

Shouting, he grabbed Li Qi’s wrist and tried to pull out the IV. At that moment, Li Qi’s eyes darkened, he quickly withdrew his hand, and raised his left foot, aiming at Chen Jiamu’s abdomen, but remembering his wounds, he kicked him hard in the groin instead.

“Get lost!”

A hoarse voice sounded in his ear. Before Chen Jiamu could react, he was kicked back several steps.

Clutching his aching groin, Chen Jiamu looked at Li Qi aggrievedly. “I’ll go get a doctor…”

Without waiting for a response, Chen Jiamu rushed out of the bedroom and said to the nurse who was putting soft cushions on the chairs, “Li Qi’s IV is backflowing, quickly call a doctor.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the nurse immediately dropped what she was doing and ran off.

A minute later, a doctor and nurse rushed in, heading straight for the bedroom…

Chen Jiamu didn’t go in. Standing at the door, he saw the doctor skillfully examining Li Qi’s body, from neck to limbs. Finally, he seemed relieved and gave the nurse a look before dealing with the backflowing IV…

“I feel like…”

Chen Jiamu paused, glancing at the nurse behind him, and quietly whispered to Chen Cheng, “How can this kind of solitary personality disorder be so scary?”

“Huh?”

Chen Cheng was stunned, then rolled her eyes at him speechlessly, covering her mouth with the back of her hand and softly replying, “He doesn’t have autism.”

“I’ll tell you later.”

As soon as she finished speaking, a low roar came from the bedroom, “Get out of here!”

“Don’t touch me!”

Hearing this, Chen Jiamu’s brows furrowed, as if he could squash a mosquito.

Why is Li Qi’s situation so bad…

“What did you do to him inside? Why is his IV backflowing?”

Suddenly, Chen Cheng leaned closer, and Chen Jiamu’s heart skipped a beat. Recalling the embarrassing events, the words seemed to burn his mouth…

After a moment of thought, clutching his groin, he stammered, “I just wanted to help him check the IV, but he wouldn’t let me, so he kicked me…”

“It must be because of the excessive movement, right?”

“He said he accepted my apology, you can go back and report.”

Chen Cheng frowned, looking at him suspiciously, “Accepted your apology and kicked you?”

“Didn’t you do something to make him unhappy?”

“How is that possible! I apologized sweetly, as you said. He’s unhappy because I didn’t need an IV drip after being stabbed, while he did. He’s probably jealous because his body is too good!”

Chen Jiamu desperately defended himself, refusing to tell the truth…
