Paranoid Boss Always Wants to Possess Me CHAPTER 15

Chapter 15: Broken Leg

After the two were taken away by the ambulance, Chen Cheng arrived late. Upon hearing that they had both fallen off their horses and gone to the hospital, she sighed helplessly, rubbing her temples.

Why couldn’t they just give her some peace of mind…

After asking who was more seriously injured, and hearing it was Chen Jiamu, Chen Cheng’s brow furrowed before she grabbed her bag and sped towards the hospital.

At the hospital.

Li Qi’s injuries, aside from scrapes on his face and wrists, weren’t serious. On the other hand, Chen Jiamu’s left lower leg was directly fractured by the mare’s hoof…

Luckily, it wasn’t a severe comminuted fracture; it only needed a cast, and he’d be fine after four months of rest.

Chen Cheng arrived at the hospital and heard the doctor’s words; the worry in her heart finally settled.

Thank goodness, thank goodness.

“When will you ever give me a break?”

Chen Cheng walked into the room from the doorway. Chen Jiamu was startled by the sudden voice; Li Qi calmly glanced back.

“It was an accident, I didn’t mean to.”

Chen Jiamu pouted, looking aggrieved. Chen Cheng’s heart softened, and the slap that was about to land on his shoulder turned into a gentle pat.

“There you go, now you’re stuck in a wheelchair for four months. But it’s good, it’ll finally make you behave yourself, you little brat.”

“Aren’t you going to ask why this happened?”

Chen Jiamu suddenly looked mysteriously at Chen Cheng. Chen Cheng paused, about to respond. Unexpectedly, Li Qi, who had been silent until now, suddenly said, “He did this to save me.”

“The one who deserved a broken leg was me.”

Almost instinctively, Li Qi’s tone was unusually humble, a tone of unconcern mixed with self-deprecation and appeasement.

Hearing this, both Chen Cheng and Chen Jiamu’s hearts skipped a beat. Chen Cheng reacted first, gently patting Li Qi on the shoulder, “You don’t need to blame yourself, it’s not your fault.”

“Jiamu considered the consequences before doing this, and he will bear the consequences himself.”

“Besides, this kid isn’t a stranger to broken bones; he’s experienced now, don’t worry.”

Li Qi pursed his lips, a flash of shock in his eyes. Chen Jiamu quickly waved his hand, “Don’t feel guilty, this little fracture is nothing to me.”

“It’s lucky it was just the mare; if it had been the white horse I was riding, I’d be lying here.”

“Besides, it’s also my fault. I accidentally hit it, and it got scared, causing you to fall.”

“It’s my own fault.”

Li Qi looked deeply at Chen Jiamu, then said nothing. The doctor only started putting on the cast after they had finished speaking.

After their wounds were treated, Chen Cheng drove them home.

Both sets of parents were filled with worry upon hearing the news.

At the Li family home.

Song Jin, seeing him return with injuries from a simple outing, felt a wave of guilt.

“Does it hurt?”

“Did the doctor prescribe any medicine?”

“Are there any other wounds?”

Three questions in a row left Li Qi somewhat flustered. After a while, he said stiffly, “I’m fine.”

“The doctor prescribed medicine, and I don’t have any other wounds.”

“That’s good. Are you hungry? I’ll have Qian Yi make your favorite dishes. Eat something before you rest.”

Song Jin worriedly pulled him to the dining table. Li Qi sat down and managed to eat a little.

He didn’t have much of an appetite, but he didn’t want to disappoint Song Jin. “I’m full, I’ll go up now.”

Putting down his chopsticks, Li Qi proactively informed Song Jin, surprising her with his uncharacteristic behavior.

Usually, Li Qi would eat a couple of bites and stop, without talking to her. He would only silently return to his room after everyone had finished eating.

Or he wouldn’t eat at all, no matter how much she urged.

For the past three years, she had been trying to make up for it, providing the best resources in both education and life.

But Li Qi had always been indifferent; her three years of effort hadn’t yielded much. Now, after meeting the Chen family’s little devil, he’s become much more cheerful…

And he hadn’t seen a psychologist in over a month…

To be precise, Li Qi hadn’t had an episode in over a month.

It seems that letting Chen Jiamu play with him is actually effective!

Thinking this, Song Jin decided to have Chen Jiamu come over more often.

This would help Li Qi recover faster!

Time flew by, and the few days of vacation were gone in a blink of an eye.

Since Chen Jiamu broke his leg, he stayed at the Chen family home. Zhao Hu, hearing about his broken leg, had been frantically guessing the reason, but Chen Jiamu simply said it was an accident.

However, Zhao Hu didn’t believe it was that simple.

On the first day back to school, Zhao Hu thought Chen Jiamu wouldn’t come, but unexpectedly, he arrived in a wheelchair…

“Mr. Chen, you…?”

“Don’t make a fuss, it’s too boring at home; school is more interesting.”

“Come on, push me.”

Chen Jiamu gave the order, and Zhao Hu happily went to push him.

Chen Jiamu could have rested, but he was too bored alone, and it was better to come to school to play with Li Qi.

Maybe he could even tease him.

After all, he had sacrificed himself for him; he should be touched, right?

Thinking this, Chen Jiamu chuckled. At that moment, Li Qi appeared with a stack of books, and Chen Jiamu immediately stopped laughing.

Li Qi didn’t expect Chen Jiamu to come to school like this.

When did he become so studious?

“Disabled… but determined?”

The scrapes on Li Qi’s face had faded, but the scars were still visible. Today, he was unusually wearing a white T-shirt and loose black jeans.

His hair seemed to have been styled, fluffy and neat on top; his bangs, which used to cover his eyes, were much shorter, revealing his long, beautiful eyes. His gloomy aura had faded somewhat, replaced by a hint of coolness.

This clean and neat attire caught Chen Jiamu’s eye, and words of praise immediately came out, “You look handsome today.”

“But not as handsome as me.”

Li Qi felt a little awkward when he was complimented, but the next sentence made him speechless…

“Crazy…”

Li Qi walked past them without another word, ignoring Chen Jiamu completely.

Zhao Hu was stunned by this scene.

Weren’t the two fighting to the death before the holidays?

Didn’t they both end up in the hospital?!

How could they be having a calm conversation now?

Zhao Hu glanced at the scrapes on Li Qi’s face, and a bold idea popped into his mind…

Did they have a fight and then make up?

Did Li Qi beat Chen Jiamu until he broke his leg, and then Chen Jiamu gave in and stopped bothering him?

The more he thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed. Zhao Hu once again marveled at Li Qi’s ruthlessness. The first time he sent Chen Jiamu to the hospital, the second time he broke his leg…
