Paranoid Boss Always Wants to Possess Me CHAPTER 65

Chapter 65: Sister, You’re So Cool

“What are you feeling guilty about?”

Seeing Chen Jiamu hesitating to enter, Chen Cheng walked directly up to him and waved her hand in front of his face.

“No… nothing.”

“I came to bring you milk tea.”

Snapping back to reality, Chen Jiamu shook the milk tea in his hand. Chen Cheng took it, looking at him with amusement. “What, scared by me?”

Seeing the teasing in her eyes, Chen Jiamu shook his head, took a sip of his milk tea, and chewed quietly for a long while.

Finally, he plucked up the courage to walk over to the sofa and sit down, asking tremulously, “I have a question, though I don’t know if I should ask it?”

“Hm?” Chen Cheng turned to look at him, not understanding why he was suddenly asking this.

“If you have something to say, say it.”

A grown man acting so wishy-washy—what did that look like?

“It’s just… if I make a mistake after entering the company, will you hit me?”

Chen Jiamu wasn’t afraid of Chen Cheng scolding him; getting scolded wouldn’t make him lose a chunk of meat. But if she got physical, that would indeed…

“If it’s something inconsequential, no. But if it’s fatal…”

Chen Cheng stared at him, paused, and continued, “If you dare make a fatal error, I will beat you into a fool.”

Her tone was gloomy, and just then, a gust of wind blew past, lifting her hair. It made Chen Jiamu’s heart tighten.

He didn’t dare look up to meet her eyes, only lowering his head to drink his milk tea in silence.

Due to the error in the afternoon files, Chen Cheng and Chen Jiamu stayed at the company until five o’clock before leaving.

As soon as they walked out of the company, they saw An Yiyi standing downstairs waiting for them.

Seeing the two come down, An Yiyi approached enthusiastically. She hugged Chen Cheng’s arm and shook it vigorously. “Sister, are you going to change clothes?”

Chen Cheng looked down at her outfit and shook her head. “No need, let’s go.”

Chen Cheng had touched up her makeup at the office; her look was still clean and sharp.

The three prepared to get in the car. Chen Cheng was driving. Chen Jiamu had intended to sit in the passenger seat, but seeing An Yiyi’s longing gaze, he voluntarily gave it up.

He turned and sat in the back seat.

An Yiyi couldn’t hide her happiness. While fastening her seatbelt, she didn’t forget to steal a few glances at Chen Cheng.

Once or twice was fine, but as the frequency increased, Chen Cheng couldn’t help but get nervous.

Did she treat her like a lightbulb?

“Is there something on my face?”

Driving with both hands, Chen Cheng didn’t dare distract herself by turning to look. Knowing her staring was too obvious, An Yiyi covered her mouth and laughed awkwardly. “Hehe, it’s mainly because Sister is too cool.”

“Sister looks so handsome when driving.”

Chen Cheng blushed at the praise, not knowing what to say for a moment.

In the back seat, Chen Jiamu stared with wide eyes, not daring to move. An Yiyi was worshipping Chen Cheng.

But it made sense. Chen Cheng had joined the company right after graduating university, and she was sharp and decisive. The circle rumored her to be an “Iron Lady.”

For a little girl like An Yiyi, admiration was normal.

After this interlude, no one spoke. Only An Yiyi’s gaze was truly too intense, making Chen Cheng very uncomfortable.

Chen Cheng finally let out a sigh of relief when they arrived at the Lantern Festival location.

After getting out of the car, the sky had already darkened. The streetlights in the distance began to flicker on one after another.

Looking up not far away, all kinds of lanterns hung high on racks. Strings of them looked like fireflies that only appeared in summer; it was truly beautiful.

Chen Cheng thought it was just that small section, but upon walking closer, she realized that the further in they went, the more lanterns there were, and the more people.

Various beautiful women and handsome men walked hand in hand. There were even mothers with children; families of three enjoying the lantern festival happily.

“This… is actually quite lively.”

Chen Jiamu stood behind the two of them, scanning everything around him.

The lantern festival was very successful. Beneath the lanterns were various vendors and a little girl selling flowers.

Seeing the group approach, the little girl perceptively hurried over, raising a bright red rose toward Chen Jiamu. “Brother, buy a flower for the sister!”

“Sister is so beautiful; she would be even more perfect with a rose.”

Because there were two women, the little girl couldn’t guess which one was related to Chen Jiamu.

So she simply called them both “Sister.”

Chen Jiamu turned to look at the two. Before he could speak, An Yiyi locked eyes with him.

“I…”

Chen Jiamu was just about to speak when An Yiyi beat him to it. “Little sister, give me two!”

“Okay! Thank you, Sister!”

Seeing that An Yiyi was pretty, the little girl specially picked two of the freshest ones to hand to her.

Buying them herself?

Chen Jiamu was puzzled, but he still gentlemanly took out his phone to pay. However, he was too slow again; An Yiyi had already taken out her phone and paid.

Seeing the money arrive, the little girl’s smile was more tender than the flowers. “Thank you, Sister!”

Chen Jiamu’s hand froze in mid-air, and he awkwardly withdrew it. Turning his head, he saw An Yiyi giving the rose to Chen Cheng. Her eyes were sparkling, her expression shy. “Sister, for you.”

“Thank… you.”

It was the first time Chen Cheng had received flowers from a girl growing up. Although it was just one, she was a bit flattered.

Standing behind them, Chen Jiamu felt superfluous for a moment.

The girls were out playing together; he seemed a bit obtrusive.

Thinking this, Chen Jiamu wanted to wander around by himself to let them relax; maybe girls had more to talk about with other girls.

Although Chen Cheng was six years older than An Yiyi, they were both girls after all.

“You guys take your time strolling, I’m going to the restroom.”

Without waiting for their response, he turned and walked in a certain direction. What he didn’t know was that a pair of eyes in the darkness was staring dead at his every move.

Seeing him leave the two women, the figure quietly followed…
