Paranoid Boss Always Wants to Possess Me Chapter 7

CHAPTER 7

Chapter 7: Li Xixi

“Ah.”

Zhang Yongmei’s face froze, and her steps stopped.

Does this person have a grudge against Li Xixi?

She glanced back at Li Qi, then continued to smile at Chen Jiamu, “I…I’m his mother.”

“Are you Xixi’s friend?”

Since Li Qi was facing away from Chen Jiamu, he couldn’t see his expression. But Li Qi’s body was uncontrollably shaking, and Chen Jiamu could guess something.

“Friend?”

“Who the hell is his friend? This kid stabbed me several times last month; I was looking for a chance to get revenge, and now I’ve caught him.”

“You’re his mother? That’s perfect, settle my medical bills!”

Chen Jiamu spread his hands, staring intently at Zhang Yongmei. His eyebrows were slightly raised, and the mole at the corner of his eye was playfully evident.

Zhang Yongmei’s smile froze on her face. Her body involuntarily stepped back, nervously lowering her eyes and clutching the fabric in her hand.

“This…”

“Li Xixi, you…”

“Although I’m his mother, after his father took him back, I lived alone. I didn’t expect him to become like this…”

Zhang Yongmei’s face turned ugly, then she turned to Li Qi, frowning, her lips trembling.

After a long pause, in a tone of disappointment towards a younger generation, she stared at Li Qi with tears in her eyes, “I didn’t expect you to be so spoiled and reckless after being taken back. I’m so disappointed in you!”

Without looking back, she covered her face and ran away, looking as if she was heartbroken by Li Qi.

Seeing this, Chen Jiamu couldn’t help but twitch his mouth. He looked at her back with a strange expression.

If he didn’t know her true nature, Chen Jiamu would have believed her lies.

Her acting was good, but he wasn’t blind.

The situation had developed to this point, and Li Qi didn’t dare to turn around, his breathing adjusting again and again.

Although his heart was pounding, he calmed himself down and slowly turned around, preparing to accept Chen Jiamu’s cold words.

“Is that really your mother?”

After Zhang Yongmei left, Chen Jiamu immediately changed his expression, pointing at her back questioningly.

Li Qi froze, his pupils trembling slightly, his heart missing a beat.

Seeing Li Qi staring at him without speaking, Chen Jiamu was afraid that he thought he was following him, and hurriedly raised his hand to explain, “Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t following you.”

“I just happened to be passing by.”

Li Qi’s throat tightened, his mind filled with thoughts, and finally he let out a long sigh.

“Why did you help me?”

Li Qi’s voice was hoarse, his eyes showing a trace of complexity. Chen Jiamu’s eyes flickered, he thought for a long time, and finally chose a reason he thought was suitable, “We’re sort of acquaintances, it’s normal to help you.”

“We’re both students of the same school, and, we have a life-and-death bond!”

Chen Jiamu wouldn’t say that he didn’t want another enemy; if he did, Li Qi would definitely become arrogant.

Hearing about the life-and-death bond, Li Qi’s face stiffened. He suddenly couldn’t understand Chen Jiamu’s logic. He almost stabbed him to death, and he could still be friends with him?

Was there some other calculation?

Thinking of this, the warmth in Li Qi’s chest turned cold again. Everyone has desires; offering excessive kindness usually means something sinister.

Chen Jiamu helped him because he had something he wanted, not because of the so-called mutual help between students of the same school.

Lowering his gaze, Li Qi’s voice softened, he adjusted the hat on his head and pinched the strap on his chest, walking towards the alley, “Consider it a debt of gratitude.”

Even if he had helped him out, Li Qi still didn’t want to be friends with him.

Friendship was too hypocritical.

“Hey, just leaving like that?”

“It’s hot now; let’s go get some milk tea!”

“There’s a newly opened shop nearby!”

“No.”

“Come on! I’ll treat you!”

“No.”

“You won’t even give face to your lifesaver?”

Li Qi fell silent, his raised foot pausing in mid-air. Finally, gritting his teeth, he went to the newly opened milk tea shop with him…

“How is it? Does it taste good?”

Chen Jiamu hugged the taro milk tea and drank greedily, after enjoying the deliciousness of the milk tea, he asked Li Qi’s opinion.

The taro was sweet; Li Qi hadn’t drunk milk tea before, and he didn’t like this sweet drink very much.

The moment he took the first sip, he frowned slightly and swallowed it with difficulty before stopping.

Chen Jiamu drank it with gusto; looking at his sparkling eyes, Li Qi reluctantly nodded slightly, “Not bad.”

“If you like it, drink more! I’ll bring you here again next time!”

Chen Jiamu was very happy that his favorite thing had been approved by others.

But he only realized later that Li Qi had only taken a small sip from beginning to end.

If you weren’t paying attention, you couldn’t even tell he’d drunk any.

Didn’t he like milk tea?

After finishing the milk tea, Li Qi went out the door to leave. His driver didn’t come in the afternoon; he had to take a taxi or bus back.

Unexpectedly, he met Zhang Yongmei on the way…

“Don’t rush, I’ll give you a ride!”

Chen Jiamu had completely forgotten his appointment with his friends after meeting Li Qi and didn’t remember that someone was waiting anxiously.

“No, I’ll just take a taxi.”

Li Qi took out his phone and skillfully opened the app, and Chen Jiamu looked at his bicycle, lost in thought.

He couldn’t give someone a ride on this…

The Beicheng sky was like a child’s temper, sunny one moment, dark clouds the next…

The last bit of sunlight was swallowed, and the entire sky turned dark and heavy. Before the two of them could react, the rain poured down…

“What the hell!”

Chen Jiamu hurriedly pushed his bicycle under the awning; half of his body was already wet.

Squeezing his dripping bangs, Chen Jiamu groaned. He should have asked his driver to pick him up…

Li Qi had moved quickly, and his body wasn’t very wet. He looked at the driver’s estimated arrival time and silently put away his phone.

“This rain is deliberately against me!”

“How am I supposed to go home in this heavy rain!”

Chen Jiamu muttered under his breath, wiping his forehead with the tissue given by the shop assistant.

Hearing this, Li Qi’s eyes turned; after a moment of thought, his taxi arrived.

As he was about to get in the car, Li Qi suddenly felt a pang of sympathy, looked back at Chen Jiamu, and pursed his lips, “Want to come along?”

Just as he was complaining, he heard Li Qi’s voice. At his invitation, Chen Jiamu readily agreed.

“Yes!”

He threw his bicycle aside, no longer in a hurry…

Li Qi glanced sideways at the car, surprised by Chen Jiamu.

That car was more expensive than the taxi he had called. Chen Jiamu just left it at the shop’s entrance?

“My friend will come and get it! Let’s go back first!”

While Li Qi was still thinking, Chen Jiamu had already gotten into the back seat, now looking up at him expectantly…
