Paranoid Boss Always Wants to Possess Me Chapter 9

CHAPTER 9

Chapter 9: A Visit to the Li Family

By the time Chen Jiamu woke up, it was already dark. He rubbed his groggy head and sat up from the sofa, the blanket slipping off…

Touching the blanket, Chen Jiamu’s heart softened; it must have been Uncle Chen who covered him.

Going to the door, the rain outside showed no sign of letting up, still pouring relentlessly.

It was so late; where was everyone?

“Uncle Chen…”

Chen Jiamu called out loudly, and Uncle Chen soon emerged from the rain with an umbrella.

Seeing Chen Jiamu awake, his first words were, “Young Master, Madam and Master won’t be home for dinner tonight. I’ve had the servants prepare some of your favorite dishes.”

“Huh? My parents aren’t home?”

He took out his phone and checked the time; it was already eight o’clock. What were they doing out so late?

“And my sister?”

“Miss said she had something to do at the company and won’t be home for dinner.”

Being alone in the huge house, Chen Jiamu hung his head in disappointment, then stretched and walked towards the dining table.

“I’ll just eat by myself then.”

The young man grabbed his messy hair and slumped into a chair.

Looking at the ceiling, he pouted, then turned his gaze to Uncle Chen, “Uncle Chen, where did my parents go?”

“Master and Madam went to the Li family; they won’t be home for dinner tonight.”

“The Li family?”

“Li Qi’s family?”

Mentioning Li Qi, Chen Jiamu became interested, immediately sitting up straight and looking expectantly at Uncle Chen.

“Uh, yes.”

Uncle Chen didn’t understand why Chen Jiamu was suddenly interested in the Li family; he hadn’t cared where Master and Madam went before.

“Uncle Chen, I’m not eating! I’m going to the Li family to find Mom and Dad!”

Chen Jiamu stood up and was about to run out when Uncle Chen stopped him, saying earnestly, “Don’t rush, it’s not too late to go after dinner.”

“Besides, it’s raining heavily outside, it’s inconvenient. You can go after the rain stops.”

Looking at the food on the table, Chen Jiamu hesitated for a moment, then picked up his chopsticks and stuffed food into his mouth haphazardly.

“Oh my, eat slowly, don’t choke.”

Uncle Chen frowned, worriedly reminding him to slow down. Finally, Chen Jiamu ate a few mouthfuls and stopped.

He pulled Uncle Chen to drive him to the Li family. The two houses weren’t far apart, but with the heavy rain, it was still inconvenient.

Meanwhile, at the Li family, Li Qi was called downstairs, where he greeted some uncles and aunts before finding an excuse to go upstairs.

He knew Chen Jiamu’s parents were downstairs, but he didn’t know why they were here.

Was it because he stabbed Chen Jiamu?

That’s probably it. He stabbed someone’s precious son; naturally, they would come to settle the score.

Standing on the balcony, Li Qi watched the rain gradually subside, extending his hand to catch the raindrops.

The cold raindrops fell on his palm, and a strange emotion flooded his mind.

It was like a flood; Li Qi’s mind was filled with this emotion, his pupils constricting.

A bone-deep itch from deep within his soul made him bite his lower lip, his hand clenching into a fist.

Only when a bloody taste filled his mouth did Li Qi let go of the railing and open his eyes, a murky gray quickly flashing in his eyes.

Sure enough, only pain could suppress this emotion; otherwise, he wanted to destroy everything around him.

But a trace of remaining reason controlled him; there were other people downstairs…

Biting his finger, Li Qi didn’t think twice and opened the door and rushed to the open balcony, even though it was still lightly raining outside.

Standing in the rain, he quickly became drenched, his glasses covered in raindrops.

He ripped off his glasses and tilted his head, letting the rain beat mercilessly on his face.

The black T-shirt was wet and clung to his body. With the rain and the cold wind, Li Qi quickly felt the chill.

His body inevitably shivered, but Li Qi seemed to enjoy this feeling.

A kind of pleasure based on self-harm made him completely immersed.

As that strange emotion dissipated, Li Qi grabbed his glasses and left the balcony.

The black T-shirt clung to his body, outlining his extremely thin figure. It seemed as if a gust of wind could blow him down…

This scene was seen by Chen Jiamu, who had just arrived, but he didn’t say anything. He quietly watched Li Qi turn and leave…

Hiss…

This Li Qi…

He felt cold even wearing a short-sleeved shirt; when he went out, he specifically asked Uncle Chen to bring him a jacket.

People with solitary personality disorders are so pitiful…

Thinking this, Chen Jiamu felt that if he could help Li Qi get better, then he would be incredibly awesome.

Thinking this, Chen Jiamu was determined to help Li Qi get better and become as cheerful as himself.

Uncle Chen parked the car at the entrance of the Li family’s house. Because the security guard had seen Chen Jiamu in the afternoon, he didn’t stop them.

As soon as Chen Jiamu got out of the car, he went straight to the living room. The Li couple were stunned when they heard someone was looking for Li Qi.

When they saw who it was, they froze. The Chen couple also froze.

“Jiamu, you…”

“Little Chen…”

“Mom and Dad! Uncle and Aunt, I came to play with Li Qi and ask him about the homework assigned by the teacher.”

Chen Jiamu’s innocent and well-behaved appearance made Chen Wensong frown.

Was this kid possessed?

“Looking for Xiao Qi? He’s on the third floor. This child is introverted; I didn’t expect you two to be so close!”

It wasn’t that Song Jin would say this, but she was too familiar with Li Qi’s personality. He didn’t like to talk and was quiet, but Chen Jiamu unexpectedly took the initiative to look for him…

It was truly unexpected, especially since he had been stabbed by Li Qi last month…

She thought they would have a grudge…

Only after Song Jin spoke did Chen Jiamu really observe her for the first time. Before, he only glanced at her briefly, without careful observation.

So his impression of her was just a general outline—a gentle yet powerful woman…

Song Jin was wearing a white cheongsam today, her hair tied back, revealing her smooth forehead.

Time had left no marks on her face; her delicate features exuded intellectual beauty. Her gentle eyes fell on him like a spring breeze.

It’s no wonder such a gentle person would accept Li Qi.

“Li Qi is great, and he’s very capable.”

Chen Jiamu scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. Seeing his shyness, Song Jin smiled, teasing, “Then if Xiao Qi follows you, he’ll become a mischievous little devil too?”

“That…that’s all in the past…”
