Popular Guide: S-Class Sentinels All Want to Monopolize Me Chapter 53

Chapter 53. Sentinels Looking for Trouble

Yasuo waved at the little black cat lazing on the soft cushion. One person and one cat walked out of the examination room one after the other.

Anse looked at the testing instrument in his hand without movement for a long while. After an unknown amount of time, with a bang, Anse threw the instrument in his hand back onto the desk.

He knew Yasuo wanted to set his final journey on the battlefield. He didn’t want to ultimately be reduced to trash casually disposed of by the White Tower, dying without dignity like that.

But there was still hope, wasn’t there?

Anse opened his wristband.

“Hello, it’s me.”

“Captain Yasuo’s riot value is about to break through the critical threshold. He is not suitable for the next mission… Yes, I know. I still have a final plan here. If you don’t want the White Tower to lose a top-tier combat force, then reject his request… I’ll do my best.”

Hanging up the communication, Anse sat in his chair, looking around. Even right here in his examination room, there were quite a few of these spiritual power testing instruments. What Yasuo said was right; to the White Tower, they were purely consumables that could be mass-produced.

But they were also biological beings of flesh and blood; no one would be willing to be treated like that.

Su Tang also got up very early today. She was purely woken up by the joyful notification sound of points arriving on her wristband.

Before going on the mission, she had 10,800 points. After going on one mission, her amount had unexpectedly been raised to 53,000. It seemed that going on missions really earned a lot.

Calculating in her heart that she could go out with the squad a few more times next time, and then looking at the old clothes she had found from her backpack, she remembered the wardrobe that Zhan Ye had messed up to the point of giving her a headache. Su Tang let out a leisurely sigh.

She had witnessed the prices at the supply station. The points she had just received hadn’t even warmed up her hands yet, and today she was probably going to bleed a lot of money.

That hateful Zhan Ye, that dead bird, she absolutely had to show him who’s boss next time she saw him.

After tidying herself up, following the memory in her mind from when she went with Mo Xiao last time, Su Tang arrived at the supply station. Perhaps because she came too early, the supply station was much quieter than the last time she came.

“Hello, Guide Su. I heard you went out with the First Squad a while ago. You weren’t injured, right?”

“What does Guide Su want to buy here today? Do you need me to help you carry things?”

“Wow, is this the new little Guide in the Tower? I didn’t see her when I went on a mission last time, so cute~”

Facts proved that for a Guide to travel without attracting attention was still quite difficult.

“It went pretty smoothly, thanks for your concern. No need, I’m just buying a few things…”

With a polite smile on her face, she rejected wave after wave of Sentinels trying to approach. Following the guidance of the supply station’s floor plan, Su Tang finally found the women’s clothing section.

Seeing the clothes displayed on the shelves, Su Tang secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Sure enough, it was Zhan Ye’s aesthetics that had a problem; there were still beautiful clothes here after all. She really didn’t know where he had scrounged up those others.

She had just picked out two different colored shirts in front of the shelf when a few footsteps sounded from behind. Listening to the sound, it seemed they were approaching her direction.

Su Tang turned her head and saw several burly Sentinels approaching her side. Seeing the appearances of those Sentinels clearly, Su Tang frowned slightly. She had seen these few people before. She had seen them during the drill with the Third Squad. If she remembered correctly, these three were from the Second Squad; they were opponents at the time.

“Oh, I was wondering what those mad dogs were so excited about early in the morning. Isn’t this the First Squad’s big shot, the little Guide Su Tang?”

Su Tang frowned slightly. Such a frivolous tone was truly very impolite.

She placed the two shirts she had picked out into the small shopping cart beside her, turning to push the cart to leave.

“Hey, don’t leave.”

A giant lizard appeared on the floor ahead at some unknown time, firmly blocking her shopping cart, not letting her push it half an inch.

Helplessly, she turned around and looked at the few people behind her.

The Sentinel standing in the very middle seemed to be the boss of the other two. The man had his arms crossed, his head tilted back slightly, bearing a very arrogant look.

“Didn’t your captain teach you that blocking a Guide’s path is very impolite behavior?”

As soon as these words came out, the three Sentinels in front of her all started laughing, as if they had heard something ridiculous.

“Oh, so you still remember our captain. It seems Guide Su’s heart is very big, able to philanthropically distribute love to everyone.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“You know best what I mean, don’t you? Guide Su, we really want to test how strong your compatibility is, how you just finished hooking up with Captain Mo Xiao and then got stuck together with Captain Zhan Ye.”

Truly nauseating words.

A surge of anger welled up in Su Tang’s heart.

“If I remember correctly, there are explicit rules in the White Tower forbidding Sentinels from insulting or harming Guides in any form. Are you illiterate and haven’t read them, or do you just not take the White Tower’s rules seriously?”

The Second Squad Sentinels froze for a moment. They seemingly didn’t expect a weak Guide to actually dare to talk back to Sentinels.

“Heh, stop trying to suppress us with rules here. What I hate the most are people like you who dare to do things but don’t dare to admit them.”

The Sentinel on the right let out a scoff.

“You’re nothing but an F-Class Guide. Having two Super S-Class Sentinel captains revolving around you, isn’t it just by selling yourself? What are you pretending to be so noble for?”

“Heh.”

Su Tang pushed the shopping cart in her hand aside and couldn’t help but laugh coldly.

“What are you laughing at?”

“I’m laughing that the Sentinels of the Second Squad possess such a quality. You make malicious speculations here, looking down on Guides from the bottom of your hearts. If you have the capability, never accept a Guide’s help in the future, then I might still acknowledge you as human.”

“Accepting a Guide’s help, yet casually insulting Guides here. What’s the difference between this kind of cursing the mother after setting down your bowl and chopsticks, and acting like a whore while demanding a monument to your chastity?”

Damn it, she hadn’t managed to vent that surge of anger toward Zhan Ye in her heart, and it just so happened these three people caught the brunt of it.

“I think you’re just full and have nothing better to do, coming here early in the morning to find a sense of presence. Instead of having this time to hurl abuse at a Guide, you might as well put this energy into the training ground. How amazing you must be, surely able to complete all missions relying on yourselves without needing a Guide’s help.”

Never having seen such a sharp-tongued Guide, the leading Sentinel’s face instantly flushed red. Flying into a rage out of humiliation, he said,

“I think you don’t want your life anymore! Don’t think that just because you have Mo Xiao and Zhan Ye backing you, we wouldn’t dare touch you…”

The crocodile by his feet swayed its tail, smacking against the small shopping cart beside it over and over.

“Then why don’t you try touching me? Only knowing how to bark incompetently over there, do you even deserve to be called Sentinels?”

“I heard that the Sentinels of all squads have already taken turns going on missions. Only your Second Squad has been constantly holed up in the White Tower. What, is it because you don’t want to?”
