Popular Guide: S-Class Sentinels All Want to Monopolize Me Chapter 57

Chapter 57. First Lecture

“P-Please rest assured. If the captain dares to speak disrespectfully to you, I will definitely help you teach him a good lesson!”

The little girl stared at her with a red face and misty eyes. Su Tang couldn’t help but reach out and pet the orange cat standing on her shoulder.

“His temper is so foul, you’d actually dare to hit him?”

Guide Su’s voice was soft, like a sugar cube coated in honey, simply sweet to the core. The black cat on A’ning’s shoulder fawned over and rubbed against Su Tang’s fingers, letting out a soft, coquettish meow.

“Anyway, he’s being controlled by Department Head Anse right now, so he can’t beat me now…”

A’ning’s face was red. Guide Su’s petting made her feel so comfortable. Mmh, does the First Squad normally eat this well?

Those dog pups sure got off cheap.

“Then, I’ll have to trouble A’ning to protect me later.”

“Mmh-mmh, I definitely will.”

At night, the White Tower entered energy-saving mode, and most of the areas covered by the constant temperature system were shut off. The freezing air made Su Tang wrap her jacket tightly around her. Looking at the pitch-black surroundings, she rubbed her icy arms.

The White Tower looked so peaceful during the day, but at night it changed its appearance entirely. If it weren’t for A’ning leading the way, she definitely wouldn’t have gone out.

Su Tang followed behind A’ning all the way to the isolation room of the Medical Department. The interior glowed with a cold white light. On the metal treatment chair, Yasuo’s wrists and ankles were secured by restraint straps that were specially made for a Sentinel’s physique. Looking again at Yasuo trapped in the chair, Su Tang’s heart gave a start.

How could it be this serious?

The black pollution value had already materialized, wrapping around the man’s body, scrambling to corrode him.

“Ugh—Anse, let me go! Why didn’t you agree to let me go to the Abyss? What right do you have to make decisions for me! Bastard, let me go!”

The man’s low voice was filled with rage. It was unknown how long he had been yelling here; his voice was as hoarse as if it had been harshly ground by sandpaper.

“Calm down a bit. The angrier you get now, the faster these things will corrode you.”

Anse’s voice was full of helplessness; it looked like he was being tortured quite heavily by this guy.

“Calm? How am I supposed to calm down? Anse, aren’t you clear yet? I have already been polluted to the core. Even if you test medicine on me over and over again, it’s useless.”

The man’s words carried a heavy sense of self-loathing. His voice was exceedingly low, seeming to have given up all hope.

The little girl standing beside her couldn’t hold back her emotions; she turned her head away, letting out a few soft whimpers. The sound attracted the two people in the isolation room. Seeing Su Tang’s figure, Anse quietly pursed his lips, stepped aside, and put the suppressant he was holding back onto the tray.

“Who told you to bring her here? Bastard, send her back immediately.”

Seeing the newcomer, Yasuo became even more agitated, his entire body struggling in the treatment chair.

“Captain, Guide Su Tang agreed to do a purification for you. Could you please cooperate a little?”

A’ning’s voice carried a very obvious sob. Yasuo’s eyes darkened.

“I don’t need it.”

“What are you saying? Under these circumstances, Captain, don’t say things you don’t mean. Can you just be good?”

A’ning was terrified that Su Tang would be angered away by Yasuo. She turned her head, looking fawningly at Su Tang beside her.

“Guide Su, please ignore him. This person just has a foul mouth. I’m troubling you.”

“I already said I don’t need her to save me, can’t you understand?”

Yasuo cast a complicated glance at Su Tang.

“It’s useless, you can’t save me at all. My spiritual power is on the verge of being thoroughly polluted. Under the current circumstances, if you come to purify me, you will also suffer my backlash. I am already beyond saving…”

No Sentinel could resist a Guide’s evolution—or more accurately, Sentinels all yearned for a Guide’s purification and had no reason to refuse. However, Yasuo was very clear about his own condition. His spiritual power was almost entirely polluted. Perhaps he was speaking fine now, but the next second he would completely turn into a mindless lump of rotting flesh. Under these circumstances, he couldn’t let a Guide risk suffering a backlash to purify him.

Yasuo raised his eyes and took a deep look at Su Tang. In his bloodshot eyes lay a dead silence, like burnt-out ashes. His gaze was full of despair, oppressively heavy to the point of suffocating.

“Whether you can be saved or not isn’t up to you.”

Su Tang walked up to the treatment chair, looking down at him from above.

“I just heard A’ning tell me about your Fifth Squad’s affairs. She said that no matter what desperate situation you were in, you never gave up on them. Why are you giving up on yourself now?”

“This is different.”

Yasuo’s voice tightened. As Su Tang got closer and closer to him, that warm aura on her body that made one want to go crazy further grated on his sanity. Yasuo gritted his teeth, his fingertips unconsciously clawing at the edge of the treatment chair.

“At that time, it was because I knew there was still saving, but now…”

“What about now? Captain Yasuo, do you know what you look like right now?”

“You look like a maggot curled up and huddled in a corner, cowardly, timid…”

Su Tang leaned forward and grabbed his collar in one handful.

“The people of the Fifth Squad treat you as their faith, but look at yourself now. What do you want them to see? See how you uselessly self-destruct?”

Yasuo was yanked forward by her, the distance between the two suddenly closing. He could clearly smell the waves of sweet Guide pheromones coming from her, mixed with the spiritual power aura unique to a Guide.

Warm, clean.

The thought in his heart of throwing her down and ruthlessly sucking dry all of her spiritual power grew increasingly intense. Yasuo desperately suppressed the dark thoughts in his heart and turned his head, enduring the urge to look at Su Tang.

“Let go! You don’t need to meddle in my affairs.”

“Slap!”

A crisp slapping sound exploded in the isolation room. The sound of A’ning quietly crying on the side abruptly stopped. Anse leaned in the corner with his arms crossed.

Holy shit, haven’t seen her for a few days, and the little bunny has actually bared her fangs.

Yasuo froze. The burning pain on his left cheek shot up along his nerves to the top of his head.

He looked at Su Tang in disbelief, the dead silence in his eyes replaced by other emotions.

There was shock, there was anger, and a trace of indescribable wretchedness.

“You fucking…”

“Slap!”

Su Tang frowned, unpityingly throwing down a gentle caress on the man’s other cheek.

“The first slap, I hit on behalf of the Sentinels of the Fifth Squad.”

Su Tang let go of his collar, looking down at him from above, her eyes holding not the slightest bit of apology.

“They went through life and death with you, treating you as a role model, not to see your cowardly appearance today.”

“Do you think giving up now is a responsible display? Wrong. You are clearly just selfishly escaping. You are making everyone who cares about you helplessly watch you seek your own death, and in the end, they still have to collect your corpse for you!”
