Popular Guide: S-Class Sentinels All Want to Monopolize Me Chapter 74

Chapter 74: Afraid of the Little Fish

The Sentinels of the First and Third Squads began to move. As the accompanying Guide for the First Squad, Su Tang followed them toward Aircraft No. 1.

Before she could take more than a few steps, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by Zhan Ye.

The man’s palm was warm and powerful, gripping her with an unquestionable force.

“Little Beauty, where are you going? I am your exclusive Sentinel for this mission. You should be with me at all times. Come sit with me in Aircraft No. 2. Its shock absorption is much better than No. 1’s—it’s more suitable for you.”

As he spoke, he began to lead her toward the second aircraft.

Su Tang stopped in her tracks, refusing to follow.

“You said it yourself—you’re my exclusive Sentinel. Shouldn’t you be staying with me? Or rather, you should come sit with me in Aircraft No. 1.”

Seeing that the expression on Su Tang’s face wasn’t a joke, Zhan Ye tilted his head and smirked.

“Stop playing around, Little Beauty. If I board Aircraft No. 1 with you, those brats from the First Squad would probably flip the entire plane upside down in a riot.”

Su Tang shrugged, her expression seemingly saying: And what does that have to do with me?

“Alright, Little Beauty, just do me a favor, okay? Accompany me to Aircraft No. 2, please?”

Noticing that some nosy Sentinels nearby were starting to steal glances at them, Zhan Ye shifted his body to block their line of sight. He leaned toward Su Tang, bending down to coax her in a low, husky voice.

“Why aren’t you calling me ‘Jiejie’ now?”

Perhaps because of the previous incident where he had dressed in women’s clothing, Su Tang couldn’t help but want to tease him lately.

Zhan Ye arched an eyebrow. His fiery red hair shimmered brilliantly under the rising sun, and a rogue-like smile played on his lips.

“If Jiejie wants to hear it, I can call you that anytime, anywhere. I can even give you a Jiejie with this kind of voice… I just hope you won’t be too shy when the time comes.”

Su Tang covered her ears to block out the waves of hot breath hitting her earlobes. She gave Zhan Ye a disgruntled roll of her eyes. This flirtatious bird—acting so seductive right in front of everyone!

Zhan Ye’s actions were far too obvious. Xiao Yu, perched on Su Tang’s shoulder, let out a dissatisfied “Meow,” followed by a disdainful glare directed at Zhan Ye.

Zhan Ye caught sight of the little black cat lingering on Su Tang’s shoulder. He hadn’t even picked a fight with it yet, and this little brat dared to provoke him first? He deliberately reached out his large hand to grab it.

Startled, Xiao Yu immediately dug its claws into Su Tang’s collar. The soft skin of Su Tang’s neck was brushed by the fluffy fur, making her itch. She shrunk her neck and swatted away Zhan Ye’s reaching hand.

“Don’t scare it.”

“Who told it to keep clinging to you?”

Zhan Ye curled his lip. He used the hand she had swatted away to smoothly take Su Tang’s backpack.

“Let’s go. Follow me to the Third Squad. From now on, it’s best if the two of us are inseparable.”

Seeing that the fellow had already walked off with her bag, Su Tang sighed helplessly. She waved toward Mo Xiao’s direction and followed Zhan Ye onto Aircraft No. 2.

When she boarded the second plane, the noisy Third Squad Sentinels inside instantly fell silent.

Everyone turned their heads in unison, their gazes lingering on Su Tang.

Su Tang subconsciously straightened her back, forcing herself to sit down next to Zhan Ye. She had dealt with the Third Squad Sentinels before and remembered them being very lively and talkative at the training grounds. Why was the atmosphere so cold now that she had arrived?

No, she could still tell that the Third Squad Sentinels welcomed her. Some of those she had met at the training grounds waved at her, their eyes sparkling as they watched her.

However, for some reason, no one spoke. The cabin was unnervingly quiet—even colder than the atmosphere of the First Squad.

Zhan Ye glanced at the black cat on Su Tang’s shoulder and gave a dissatisfied cold snort.

He naturally knew the reason behind his team members’ abnormal behavior. It wasn’t that they didn’t welcome Su Tang; it was entirely because she had brought that black cat along.

In the White Tower, Ya Suo was the epitome of “keep away.” Naturally, his spiritual entity, Xiao Yu, inherited that reputation.

Normally, anyone outside of the Fifth Squad who touched it would get scratched. Yet, this little brat refused to stay obediently with the Fifth Squad. Every time it returned to the White Tower, it insisted on patrolling the premises. If it saw something it didn’t like, it would bare its claws as a warning. It wasn’t just that they couldn’t beat it; even if they could, the “crazy cats” of the Fifth Squad were extremely protective of their own. No one wanted to invite trouble from them. Gradually, everyone developed a fear of this little black cat.

Now, seeing this legendarily irritable black cat squatting obediently on Su Tang’s shoulder, even the tip of its tail looking docile, the Sentinels all quietly held their breath.

“Guide Su Tang is here.”

The Vice-Captain of the Third Squad was the first to break the silence. He wore a polite smile, but he didn’t dare let his gaze linger on Xiao Yu for long.

“Did Guide Su bring enough supplements this time? The Third Squad’s supplementary supplies are all with me. If Guide Su runs out, just ask me for more.”

Su Tang smiled and nodded her thanks.

With the Vice-Captain speaking first, the surrounding Sentinels were no longer as stiff. They began to engage in hushed conversations.

“Why did Guide Su bring Captain Ya Suo’s little ancestor along?”

“Yeah, exactly. Aren’t spiritual entities and Sentinels supposed to stay together?”

“That’s Captain Ya Suo we’re talking about—one of the five Great Captains of the White Tower. He’s naturally on a different level from us.”

“Do you think this little guy is going on the mission with us? Hiss… then we’re really going to have a hard time…”

Perhaps considering this possibility, the surroundings fell back into silence.

Su Tang moved her arm uncomfortably. The atmosphere was too quiet, and the Sentinels’ gazes kept sweeping over her intermittently, making her feel unsure of how to act.

Zhan Ye was about to say a few words when suddenly, Xiao Yu jumped down from Su Tang’s shoulder. The little black brat first lazily stretched its limbs on the floorboards, then began to patrol the cabin with an elegant feline gait.

Wherever it passed, the Sentinels who had been whispering immediately straightened their backs and lightened their breathing, looking exactly like subordinates encountering a high-ranking leader.

“If you look closely, this little guy isn’t actually that scary…” a low exclamation came from the back row. “Do you think Captain Ya Suo sent this little guy to Guide Su Tang’s side because he’s afraid our Captain can’t protect her?”

“Lower your voice! You dare to gossip about the Captains?”

“Exactly. You actually think this ancestor is… cute? Please, get your eyes checked. Did you forget how it scratched Xiao Shi’s face to pieces last time?”

“But it’s different when it’s with Guide Su Tang… didn’t you see? It was clearly very well-behaved on her shoulder. It probably just felt unwell after coming back from a mission last time.”

“…I have nothing to say to you spineless visual-obsessed idiots.”
