Chapter 25 Retreat
Third Floor.
In the midst of the zombie horde, the three worked together seamlessly. Su Mo and Su Hao cleared the path ahead, while Peng Yu disrupted the zombies from behind.
What is a comrade? It’s about unconditionally entrusting your back to another person. That’s what a comrade is.
Because Peng Yu’s psychic abilities were limited, he couldn’t yet control large groups of zombies to commit suicide, so he could only create distractions. However, even the strongest psychic abilities couldn’t sustain this for long.
This frustrated Peng Yu. Why hadn’t he diligently cultivated his abilities? He had no choice but to pull out his gun from his backpack, using his abilities to distract while using his firearm to eliminate some of the zombies.
Thankfully, their combined efforts finally created an opening. Su Mo kicked away a rushing zombie, shouting, “Go!”
Instantly, Peng Yu poured all his psychic energy into controlling a group of zombies behind them, creating distance as he quickly followed Su Mo’s lead.
Seeing their prey escape, the zombies wouldn’t give up; they surged forward even more frantically, their ferocity enough to make anyone tremble.
“Damn it, what the hell is this?” Peng Yu cursed, breathless. He had never been so battered since the apocalypse began; he felt completely exhausted.
“Don’t talk, just get out of here; there’s something big behind them,” Su Mo’s face was grim as she glanced at the pursuing zombies. Being able to control so many zombies to attack indicated a powerful enemy.
“Mo Mo, do you know what it is?” Su Hao asked.
“A psychic ability zombie spirit,” Su Mo replied simply.
“Damn, zombies have abilities now?” Peng Yu practically yelled. What hope was there for humanity? Zombies were already difficult to deal with, but what about zombies with abilities…?
Su Mo quickly glanced at him, bluntly stating, “Of course, and this zombie’s psychic ability is stronger than yours.”
Peng Yu’s mouth twitched; he looked aggrieved, “I’ve been training hard!”
“Yeah, training in your sleep, I know,” Su Mo continued, her tone flat and emotionless.
Peng Yu silently drew circles in the air, his expression one of grievance. He muttered, “Sleeping is a kind of mental training too.”
Su Mo’s mouth twitched. While she had to admit he was right, she chose not to respond. She found it best to talk less to this sometimes ridiculous fellow.
The three retreated while killing the approaching zombies, quickly bursting out of the mall. The sun was still scorching outside.
Perhaps due to being indoors, their eyes struggled to adjust to the sudden brightness, slowing them down momentarily.
In that brief moment, the zombies behind them closed the distance, their frantic bodies lunging forward with growls.
A headshot, a kick sending a flying zombie sprawling, Su Hao’s face darkened as he said to Su Mo beside him, “Go get the car.”
Glancing at the pursuing zombies, Su Mo said nothing, running towards the SUV.
Whether because of their loud noises or the psychic ability zombie behind them, zombies swarmed from the streets. While not a large number, it was still a headache.
Before she reached the car, some zombies surrounded her. Suddenly, a horn blared.
Gunfire erupted. Following the sound, Su Mo squinted.
A green jeep, a military vehicle!

Chapter 26 Encounter
The jeep sped forward, running over numerous zombies. Su Mo stared intently.
Wow!
It was undoubtedly a modified vehicle, its durability comparable to the vehicles she had bought. In this apocalypse, owning a good car was almost impossible.
The car quickly circled Su Mo, tires spitting sparks as it cleared a large portion of the zombies, bodies flying everywhere before stopping a short distance from her.
Su Mo narrowed her eyes. Driving was a skill, and this was undoubtedly a skilled driver.
The jeep stopped boldly in the middle of the road, highly conspicuous, completely unfazed by the horde of zombies gathering.
The door opened, a foot stepping out first, the shoe new, the trouser leg clean. Then, a tall figure emerged, hair slightly disheveled, a playful smirk on his face. His chiseled features were like a work of art, his appearance and physique seemingly divinely blessed.
His eyes shone like bright pearls, radiating a devilish charm, his demeanor regal as he surveyed his surroundings.
He exuded an air of authority, like a ruler with everything under his control.
Su Mo raised an eyebrow. The world was truly small; she had run into the last person she wanted to see.
This person, both in her past and present life, had always exuded a dangerous aura. They were different people, yet somehow the same – both accustomed to controlling others but unwilling to be controlled themselves.
“Heh,” he smirked, a playful lilt in his voice. “Little thing, seems you’re not very happy to see me.”
Little thing? Su Mo bristled. Was he talking about her? What was small about her? Well, perhaps her chest was a bit small, but to have it pointed out so bluntly… her eyes blazed.
As if reading her mind, Shen Shao Jie looked playfully at her small breasts, then nodded seriously, “Hmm, indeed quite small.”
Instantly, Su Mo became like a bristling tiger. Her delicate face, instead of anger, displayed a smile. “At least I don’t have a woman’s face.”
Huh? Had he been insulted? And with the most offensive term possible? However, seeing the girl’s defiant, vengeful glare, he didn’t seem angry at all, instead nodding, “Thank you for the compliment. ‘Better than a woman’ is indeed the best way to describe my appearance.”
Su Mo’s mouth twitched. Gritting her teeth, she glared at him, deciding not to engage him.
Seeing the little thing ignore him, Shen Shao Jie felt displeased. Noticing his subordinates staring blankly at the girl, he felt annoyed. His tone was sharp, “Are you blind? Don’t you see all those crippled things bouncing around? Are you waiting for them to get in our way?!”
Then, as if remembering something, he added, “Don’t use guns. Conserve bullets.” The men were taken aback. They had simply been standing there; why had they incurred his displeasure?
A wave of despair washed over them. “Young Master, there are at least seven or eight hundred here; even if we chop them up, we won’t finish,” one said.
Shen Shao Jie glanced at him, a devilish smirk playing on his lips. “I said those zombies are re-engineered cripples. Have your brains been re-engineered too? Your abilities are for show?”
The men lowered their heads, silently approaching the zombies. They wouldn’t dare mention that he’d previously forbidden them from using their abilities. No, they wouldn’t say a word.
“Tyrant,” Su Mo scoffed. He was certainly no good person.
Shen Shao Jie was who? In her past life, a powerful leader. Even in this life, though not yet as successful, he’d risen through the ranks. Naturally, he heard her words and felt annoyed. He yelled at the men who were slowly approaching the zombies, “Are you moving that slowly because you’re waiting for those cripples to invite you to dinner?”
“Cruel,” Su Mo added another description of Shen Shao Jie.
Shen Shao Jie was furious, his smile becoming even more devilish. “If I still see those cripples in half an hour, you’ll stay to keep them company tonight.”
The men wailed in despair. Why did they have to deal with that girl? What was so cute or powerful about her? Every word she uttered was like a curse. Their eyes were filled with resentment as they looked at Su Mo.
Su Mo remained indifferent, silently labeling the man in her mind.
