Rebirth in the Apocalypse: My Little Space farm Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Weapons

The air throbbed with multicolored lights, a hazy atmosphere pervading every corner. On stage, a captivating woman writhed sensuously, drawing the attention of countless souls craving solace.

This was heaven, and hell.

In both her past and present lives, Su Mo had never entered such a den of iniquity. Dressed simply, she blended into the crowd.

In a corner, a flamboyant woman clung to a handsome young man, whispering suggestive words, attempting to arouse his desires.

The man, wearing an open-collared shirt and a diamond earring, reclined with his hands behind his head, a hint of devilish charm about him.

Su Mo carefully studied this young man. She knew that in the future, he would hold the lives of tens of thousands in his hands. Such a man couldn’t possibly be as harmless as he appeared.

Just as the woman’s lips were about to touch the man’s, his eyes snapped open. “Get lost,” he said, a single word, light yet chilling, radiating danger.

The woman’s face drained of color; fear flashed in her eyes. She quickly retreated.

The nearby revelers fell silent, moving away.

Su Mo felt a chilling aura. The man on the sofa, his eyes now gleaming with a blood-red light, was looking directly at her.

Su Mo showed no fear; she approached and sat opposite him.

A sharp intake of breath echoed. Those who had moved away stared at Su Mo with pity. Such a beautiful woman, throwing herself into danger.

Su Mo ignored them. Looking at the increasingly dangerous man, she spoke, “Mr. Shen, are you interested in a deal?”

“Oh?” Shen Shao Jie looked at the woman—or rather, girl—with amusement, “Such as?”

“Mr. Shen, if you’re interested, show some sincerity. I guarantee you won’t regret this deal,” Su Mo scanned the people around him, her gaze fixed on Shen Shao Jie.

She didn’t know what kind of person Shen Shao Jie was, but she had a trump card. She believed he’d negotiate, though danger and opportunity went hand-in-hand. She had to gamble.

Raising an eyebrow at Su Mo’s confident gaze, Shen Shao Jie was intrigued. “Alright, let’s hear it.”

In the dimly lit corridor, excitement and danger coexisted; heaven and hell intermingled.

Su Mo remained composed as she followed Shen Shao Jie into a luxurious private room, decorated in an opulent European style. His taste was certainly refined.

Once inside, Shen Shao Jie sat on the plush sofa, lit a cigar, and asked, “May I inquire about your name, Miss?”

“My surname is Su, my given name is Mo,” Su Mo replied frankly; she knew he could easily find out.

Su? Shen Shao Jie raised an eyebrow, a name he recognized. “The heiress of the Su Corporation?”

“Yes, but I am myself now,” Su Mo was surprised he knew her name.

“Is that so? What deal do you propose, Miss Su?” Shen Shao Jie was even more interested. Rumor had it that this girl was sheltered by her brother. Yet here she was, in this place, seeking him out.

“Should I call you Mr. Shen, or Count Arno Land?” Su Mo asked calmly, though internally she was terrified.

A gun barrel pointed at her. The room was tense.

Shen Shao Jie’s eyes shone with a bloodthirsty danger; his grim face was menacing, “How do you know my identity? Who are you?”

“Who I am is irrelevant, as is who you are. I want to make an arms deal with you, Mr. Shen, and I’ll give you some information in return,” Su Mo showed no fear. She was gambling on him believing her.

His identity might be secret now, but not in the apocalypse.

Silence filled the room. After a long moment, Shen Shao Jie narrowed his eyes and lowered his gun, “Your offer seems quite substantial?”

“Four hundred million. I want four hundred million worth of goods,” It was all the money she had left.

“Four hundred million?” Even Shen Shao Jie, accustomed to large transactions, was surprised.

He hadn’t expected a young girl to want so much, especially four hundred million. Even wealthy young heiresses usually only dealt in tens of millions.

After his surprise subsided, Shen Shao Jie became curious, “What do you need this for?”

“I have my uses. Give me heavy weaponry: MK580s, machine guns, grenades, and grenade launchers,” Su Mo said concisely. She needed them tonight, due to time constraints and knowing he had the stock.

In the later stages of the apocalypse, everyone knew Shen Shao Jie possessed billions of dollars worth of arms. Four hundred million was a drop in the bucket.

Shen Shao Jie was even more curious. She knew about the MK580, a heavy weapon, and wanted only heavy weapons. After a long silence, he said, “I have the goods, but you pay upfront, and I choose the location.”

Su Mo hesitated; those in his line of work were cautious, but nodded, “Agreed.”

Su Mo quickly transferred the money. Shen Shao Jie then made a phone call, speaking in an unintelligible language.

After a few instructions, he hung up and stood, “Let’s go. Get your goods.”

Shen Shao Jie’s car sped through the neon city, kicking up a gust of wind.

He found the speed exhilarating, but was surprised by Su Mo’s composure; women usually screamed in his car, yet she didn’t even blink.

He wondered if he wasn’t driving fast enough, so he pressed the accelerator harder, but she remained unflappable, piquing his curiosity further.

The car drove unimpeded to a dark area. Su Mo felt no fear; the route seemed familiar.

When the car stopped, Su Mo realized where they were: the same location where the 4S dealership had delivered her cars. It was almost fated.

Exiting the car, a breeze blew. It was a wasteland, especially quiet at night.

Following Shen Shao Jie, Su Mo saw several vehicles and men. Hearing the commotion, they drew their guns.

Recognizing Shen Shao Jie, their leader lowered his weapon, “Master.”

Shen Shao Jie nodded, gestured towards a truck, and turned to Su Mo, “Check the goods.”

The men were bewildered; a young girl buying this much weaponry was unnerving.

Su Mo ignored them, “No need. I trust Mr. Shen. But I’ll need to drive the truck away, no objections?”

Shen Shao Jie considered this, “Shall I have the goods delivered to a secure location?”

A young girl with this amount of weaponry might face trouble, even with a powerful family background.

Su Mo didn’t expect this; she felt a sense of respect for him, “No, thank you. I have arrangements.”

Shen Shao Jie nodded, “You said you had information to share?”

Su Mo saw that he hadn’t dismissed his men, implying trust. She spoke seriously, “Believe it or not, at the end of this month, humanity will face its greatest catastrophe. Eighty percent will die, turning into monsters. The world will be remade. Mr. Shen, prepare food.”

Silence hung in the air, a heavy atmosphere.

Shen Shao Jie’s eyes glittered as he looked at the young girl. He doubted her words, but her actions were compelling. He recalled his ancestors’ warnings about impending change.

If she was right, he would owe her.

After a moment, Shen Shao Jie asked, “Where did you get this information?”

“I can’t tell you,” revealing this information was dangerous enough; revealing her reincarnation would be even worse.

Shen Shao Jie didn’t press further, simply giving her a deep look before leaving with his men.

After they left, Su Mo stored the truck in her spatial storage, then took out a Ferrari and several motorcycles she’d recently acquired.

Fastening her seatbelt, she sped off, finally relaxing.

She believed her resources would ensure her survival in the apocalypse. She’d noticed that the vegetables in her spatial storage grew much faster than outside; seedlings planted today could be harvested tomorrow. Grain could be harvested within a month, and fruit trees would also grow quickly, given the space’s unchanging climate. She anticipated fruit within months.
