Running Away Again? Dragged Back for Forced Love Until He Behaves Chapter 36

Chapter 36: Lin Yuan is the Person Dearest to My Heart

Yesterday morning, Yu Yi’an had taken Lin Yuan away from Junting Shengshi Villa in his Rolls-Royce.

Before the car had driven very far, Lin Yuan suddenly smelled an unusual fragrance inside the vehicle.

However, before he could even react, he lost consciousness.

When he woke up again, he found himself tied up and unable to move.

Not only was he immobilized, but his eyes were blindfolded, his mouth was gagged, and the space around him was cramped and suffocating.

Lin Yuan knew then that he had been schemed against by Yu Yi’an.

He wanted to struggle, but it was useless.

Outside, thunder rumbled amidst a violent rainstorm.

His claustrophobia was triggered in an instant.

His entire body curled into a ball.

He didn’t know how much time had passed, but just as his consciousness began to fade, Shen Yanzhou arrived.

Though the man’s embrace was as warm as ever and he had released him from all restraints, Lin Yuan’s heart only tightened further.

He didn’t know what kind of punishment Shen Yanzhou would inflict upon him for this latest escape attempt.

With various complex emotions tangled together, he could no longer endure it and completely lost consciousness.

At this moment, seeing Yu Yi’an sitting before him with such blatant arrogance, Lin Yuan gritted his teeth.

“Yu Yi’an, a person must have a bottom line! You’re so young, how can you be so devoid of honor?”

“You promised to send me away. Why did you lock me up?”

Yu Yi’an stared at him and spoke slowly, “Actually, you should thank me. I didn’t send you out; I only locked you up.”

“You probably don’t know yet, but the ship I prepared for you wasn’t headed for some small southern city.”

As he spoke, he leisurely crossed his long legs. “The destination of that ship was Dianbei.”

Lin Yuan was startled.

Dianbei?

Only then did he realize that from the very beginning, Yu Yi’an never intended to let him leave alive.

“Why?” His brows furrowed tightly. “I was already leaving. Why did you have to be so ruthless as to leave no path for survival?”

Yu Yi’an sneered. “You said it yourself—’leaving no path for survival’! It’s exactly as the words imply.”

“Since I was small, my father—oh, and my Uncle—taught me that when you do something, you must pull the grass up by the roots. Leave no future troubles behind.”

He pulled his chair forward, leaning in slightly to get closer, staring intently into Lin Yuan’s eyes.

“Only when you’re a dead person can I be certain you won’t get in my way again!”

Lin Yuan’s teeth were clenched in rage.

“Lunatic! Both of you are lunatics! Cough, cough, cough—

Yu Yi’an didn’t retort. His gaze fell directly on Lin Yuan’s slightly flushed, handsome little face.

He might be a lunatic, but in the end, his heart had softened, hadn’t it?

At the final moment, he hadn’t been able to steel himself to throw the boy onto that ship.

At that time, looking at the drugged Lin Yuan unconscious beside him and thinking of Shen Yanzhou, he had wavered.

Once on that ship, there would be no turning back.

Yue Ping had told him not to gamble his own life on Shen Yanzhou’s feelings for him, and similarly, he didn’t dare gamble on Shen Yanzhou’s feelings for Lin Yuan.

He couldn’t be sure what the outcome would be if Shen Yanzhou’s rationality completely collapsed without a backup plan.

So, in the end, he kept Lin Yuan behind.

Facts proved his choice was correct.

Through the extreme push-and-pull of yesterday evening, he had come to understand exactly how important Lin Yuan was to Shen Yanzhou.

“And now?” Lin Yuan’s voice, laden with anger, pulled him back to his senses. “Do you regret it? Did you come here to finish me off?”

“Then do it! Kill me! I wish you and Shen Yanzhou a long life together!”

Yu Yi’an’s gaze instantly turned cold.

His fingers clenched into a fist in the shadows.

He struggled to suppress the urge to kill.

His lips quirked as he smiled.

“Where are your thoughts wandering? Lin Yuan, I won’t kill you.” His tone was methodical and gentle.

“I’ve realized something now. If I let you die while he loves you most, you’ll forever become the ‘White Moonlight’ in his heart that can never be erased.”

“So, I’m going to keep you alive. I want to see just how long he can love you!”

He leaned into Lin Yuan’s ear. “Lin Yuan, let’s wait and see!”

With that, he stood up, gave another smile, and turned to leave.

Lin Yuan felt as though he were about to collapse.

This pair of lunatic uncle and nephew were truly both aiming for his life!

His body went limp as he fell back onto the hospital bed.

Only then did he realize that the IV needle had slipped out, and beads of blood were gushing out in a string…

Shen Yanzhou stood before a gravestone, reaching out to gently brush the dust off the photograph.

He offered a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums and bowed four times.

The air in the cemetery was fresh in the early morning after the rain.

Shen Yanzhou’s mind was also clearer than ever before.

Recalling the events of yesterday, he still felt a lingering fear.

If he hadn’t been sure what kind of feelings he had for Lin Yuan before…

Then, after experiencing the agonizing pain of a near-permanent separation yesterday, he was certain.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Yu Yi’an.

The ringing lasted for a long time before it was picked up.

On the other end, Yu Yi’an’s voice was the same as usual—gentle and bright.

Exactly like a sunny youth.

“Shu, looking for me?”

Shen Yanzhou’s jaw muscles twitched. “I’ve come to see your father. You come here too.”

Yu Yi’an seemed to think for a moment before answering, “Alright.”

Twenty minutes later, Yu Yi’an walked up to Yu Cheng’s gravestone.

He stood side-by-side with Shen Yanzhou.

Yu Yi’an tilted his head to look at the man’s profile.

In the short dozen or so hours since yesterday evening, Shen Yanzhou’s eyes had become dark-rimmed, and several red veins had burst in his pupils.

This man, who was always so elegant and noble, actually had bits of dark stubble appearing on his chin.

“You were worried about him? You didn’t sleep all night?” he asked.

Shen Yanzhou didn’t answer, nor did he turn his head. He spoke calmly, “Kneel and kowtow to your father.”

Yu Yi’an obediently knelt on the ground and performed four formal kowtows.

Just as he was about to stand up…

Shen Yanzhou stepped down hard on his calf, pinning it, while his hand grabbed the back of Yu Yi’an’s neck.

Yu Yi’an was instantly immobilized, forced to maintain his kneeling position.

“Shu, what are you doing?” He panicked for a moment.

However, the panic in his eyes vanished instantly. He let out a chuckle. “Could it be that you want to play a game of forced love with me too?”

Shen Yanzhou’s jaw throbbed with tension.

“Yu Yi’an, today, in front of your father, let’s make things clear,” he spoke coldly.

“I raised you from the age of fourteen to adulthood. In those four years, I haven’t mistreated you in the slightest.”

“I usually indulge you no matter how you act out or go wild, but you must have a sense of propriety!”

“Lin Yuan is the person dearest to my heart. For the sake of Brother Cheng, I won’t pursue this matter any further.”

His voice wasn’t loud, and he wasn’t shouting.

But the oppressive pressure bleeding out from his voice made it difficult for Yu Yi’an to breathe.

“If you ever dare to harm a single hair on his head again, I guarantee I will kill you. Then I’ll go down myself to apologize to Brother Cheng! Do you hear me clearly?”

He ground out that last sentence, then grabbed Yu Yi’an’s hair, forcing his eyes to look directly at Yu Cheng’s portrait on the gravestone.

“Speak!”

Yu Yi’an’s chest heaved violently.

After a long while…

He gritted his teeth hard.

“I hear you!” He squeezed the three words out from between his teeth.

Only then did Shen Yanzhou release him.

Yu Yi’an scrambled up from the ground, looking somewhat disheveled.

He brushed the dirt off his pants.

His face was slightly flushed.

He lowered his head and remained silent for a while.

He pursed his lips before finally speaking, “I know I was wrong. I promise you, I will never harm Lin Yuan again.”

Seeing him admit his mistake and bow his head so quickly, Shen Yanzhou was actually a bit surprised.

“As long as you’re a man of your word!”

Yu Yi’an nodded. “Don’t worry!”

Saying that, he lifted his head. “Then… you won’t discard me, will you?”

Those eyes of his naturally carried a sense of innocence.

At this moment, he looked somewhat aggrieved, making it even more heart-wrenching.

However, Shen Yanzhou knew his true nature and looked away.

“We’ll talk about future matters in the future.”

Yu Yi’an nodded obediently. “Since you didn’t say you don’t want me, I’ll assume you still do!”

Shen Yanzhou didn’t respond.

Yu Yi’an’s mood brightened. “Shu, your silence is consent! Thank you, Shu!”

“Let’s go!” His voice became cheerful.

Looking at Yu Yi’an like this, Shen Yanzhou felt as though something wasn’t quite right.

Translator’s Note:  Shen Yanzhou basically drew a line in the sand. Also, “White Moonlight” (白月光) is a classic web novel term for someone who is a pure, unattainable first love that lingers in the heart forever. Yu Yi’an is really playing the “innocent nephew” card again, but we all know he’s a little viper! I’m curious to see how Lin Yuan reacts when he finds out Shen threatened to “go down” (die) to apologize if he killed the kid.
