Chapter 1: I Whip Myself
Shi Ye.
“Are we not starting?”
Chi Wan was pulled back from her thoughts by the voice, which carried a distinct chill.
She looked at the Sentinel before her: black hair, standing nearly two meters tall, clad in a black leather combat uniform with matching gloves. His legs were long, his brows sharp, and his expression utterly indifferent.
He exuded an invisible, crushing pressure.
This was Shi Ye, one of the Sentinel Commanders, the Supreme Commander of the K1 Base. His Mental Entity was the Black Wolf King, and his ability was Control.
Chi Wan, who had transmigrated only yesterday, feigned calmness as her hands fumbled blindly across the table.
“St… Starting…”
The man before her immediately began to strip.
Chi Wan, who had grown up in the new century focused solely on her studies and had never even held a man’s hand, wished she could bury her head in her feet. She tried desperately to control her gaze, avoiding the bronzed pectoral muscles and the eight-pack abs revealed before her.
Her hands busily groped around the table for the therapeutic tools.
Her fingers grazed a black whip…
Reached toward a chain…
Finally, trembling slightly, she touched an unidentified black iron rod…
After searching for ages, she couldn’t choose a single usable item.
She squeezed her eyes shut.
…What kind of X-rated nonsense was all this?
—The original host, Chi Wan.
The pampered eldest daughter of the Chi family and the only SSS-rank Guide in the entire ALP Galaxy.
Notorious, universally detested.
She was also the vicious villainess of this “Sentinel & Guide” harem novel.
Not only was she destined to be utterly crushed by the female lead in one hundred and sixty-two days, but after the heroine appeared, it would be revealed that Chi Wan was actually switched at birth. Her life would hit rock bottom, and having offended all the male leads, she would be ruthlessly abandoned.
In the end, she would die a miserable death, much to everyone’s delight.
[Host, toughen up! Don’t be a coward, or your identity will be suspected!]
The System’s voice pulled Chi Wan’s thoughts back again.
She looked up at the Sentinel Commander, her heart once again trembling at the coldness in his eyes.
A massive Black Wolf King Mental Entity emerged from above his head.
The Black Wolf King was as immense as a dark cloud, its crimson wolf eyes dangerous and bloodthirsty.
At this moment, those wolf eyes stared coldly at Chi Wan, making her want to flee.
The original host had performed a “soothing” session for this Sentinel Commander, Shi Ye, once before.
How did she do the treatment again…
In her memory, the sound of the original host wielding various props with a maniacal, obsessive fervor echoed—Whack! Whack! It felt as though those slaps were landing on Chi Wan’s own face right now.
Her hands shaking, she grabbed a random item and looked at Shi Ye, but she simply couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Damn it. She had never bullied anyone in her life, and now, right off the bat, she was expected to whip a towering Sentinel nearly two meters tall.
Seeing her hesitation, Shi Ye lowered his brow and stepped closer to her.
Backlit, his face was stern. His cold black eyes locked onto the tip of her nose, and he let out a light scoff.
“What? Are these props no longer enough to satisfy you? You want to play something new?”
“Of… Of course not!”
Chi Wan raised the prop, her expression as solemn as if she were swearing a blood oath.
Immediately after, she squeezed her eyes shut and, with a trembling hand, swung down!
[Host, what are you doing?! Your mission is to redeem yourself and survive!]
[It is never too late to mend the fold after the sheep is lost!]
What the f—?
Chi Wan violently jerked the whip mid-swing!
Under the freezing gaze of the man before her, the prop was forcibly redirected.
It lashed back toward Chi Wan!
The highly resilient leather strip carried full force, whipping up a gust of wind!
Smack—!
A loud, crisp sound echoed as it struck Chi Wan directly on the forehead!
Thud—!
She was knocked straight to the floor, a red welt instantly appearing on her forehead.
Shi Ye: “…”
In the last second before losing consciousness, Chi Wan struggled to speak:
“I… am turning over a new leaf. That hit… count it as me taking revenge for you…”
Then, she fainted completely.
Chapter 2: She is the Pariah
Chi Wan woke up in a medical room that was stark white throughout.
Blue lights flowed across the ceiling, and the white medical instruments chimed as they sensed her awakening.
A medic walked in quickly.
“Honorable Guide Chi Wan, you’re finally awake.”
Chi Wan sat up, rubbing her head. Her hand brushed against the wound on her forehead that had just been treated, causing her face to pale from the pain.
“Don’t touch it! The wound still needs maintenance after being treated by the restoration instrument!”
The medic spoke, then looked at her with a cautious expression.
“A new pollution source has been discovered. The main force is mobilizing to depart today. Guide Chi Wan, the Commanders’ Mental Entities are all a bit volatile. They urgently need you…”
Chi Wan knew what he was going to say.
You can run, but you can’t hide forever. This was something she had to face sooner or later.
“Take me to them.”
“Please follow me.”
The world she was in was the ALP Galaxy. In recent millennia, the galaxy had been eroded by pollution, and humanity had awakened two special types of people—Sentinels and Guides.
Sentinels possessed heightened five senses and formidable combat strength. They had Mental Entities, and high-level Sentinels could even evolve special abilities. They were the vanguard warriors in pollution zones. However, due to their overly acute senses, their Mental Entities were prone to instability and could easily enter a manic state. The higher the Sentinel’s rank, the more unstable they were.
Guides were the only existence capable of soothing a Sentinel’s Mental Entity.
In combat, Guides could construct mental barriers for Sentinels. After combat, they could soothe and heal them.
It could be said that Guides were indispensable to Sentinels. Many low-level Sentinels did not qualify for a matched Guide and could only rely on the Base to scrounge for some general mental soothing. Those with bad luck often died from mental mania or mental pollution.
The medical bay door opened, and Chi Wan followed the medic out.
Outside, the walls and architecture remained milky white, like something out of a sci-fi movie.
Passing through the corridor, they arrived at the temporary base’s public medical hall.
A large number of Sentinels were queuing here to register for soothing.
Every single one of them was on the verge of mental mania; the severe cases even had unfocused eyes.
Upon seeing Chi Wan, the SSS-rank Guide, they showed no desire whatsoever.
It was simply because her performance during these eighteen days at the temporary base had been—too terrible!
Arrogant, cold-blooded, malicious.
On her first day here, she declared that no Sentinel under SSS-rank was qualified to receive her soothing.
She usually bossed these Sentinels around like servants.
Under their various gazes, Chi Wan could only silently quicken her pace.
Finally, the medic stopped outside the conference room door.
The door opened, and seven Commanders, either standing or sitting, all looked toward Chi Wan.
Without exception, they were tall, handsome, and imposing.
The pressure from seven pairs of eyes was overwhelming.
And the gazes from these seven big shots, all of whom she had offended, were mostly unfriendly.
“What are you doing here?”
The man leaning back in his chair couldn’t hide the disgust in his eyes.
Pei Yuan.
His name was Pei Yuan, Mental Entity: Falcon, Supreme Commander of K3 Base, Ability: Teleportation.
Before Chi Wan could answer, another man with blue hair and a cold demeanor spoke leisurely:
“We are in a meeting.”
Yun Qi, Mental Entity: Kun Whale, Supreme Commander of B6 Base, Ability: Precognition.
The implication to leave was obvious.
The other Commanders didn’t even bother to spare Chi Wan another glance.
Seeing this, the medic had to step forward.
“Commanders, we are about to depart. The Mental Entity soothing…”
“If we wait for her to soothe and toy with us one by one, how long will we be waiting?”
Pei Yuan’s tone was mocking.
Looking at these men, Chi Wan was certain that if she didn’t possess SSS-rank Mental Power, they would have sliced her into a thousand pieces by now.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she spoke immediately:
“I will perform a rapid group soothing. It won’t delay you for long. Please release your Mental Entities.”
A sneer rang out.
“It seems Guide Chi Wan has researched a new way to play.”
Chi Wan knew explaining was useless. She simply released her Mental Power.
Her powerful SSS-rank Mental Power possessed extreme soothing properties. Like peeling silk from a cocoon, it began to guide their Mental Entities.
Even if these men didn’t buy it, faced with the Mental Power of an SSS-rank Guide, their Mental Entities involuntarily released themselves.
Due to the original host’s atrocious behavior, they would rather endure the pain than seek her out for soothing, so almost all of them were on the verge of mania.
They couldn’t resist such SSS-rank soothing.
Although Chi Wan’s Mental Entity had no concrete form, her powerful Mental Power was like a gentle spring capable of embracing everything, channeling through their Mental Entities.
After a simple round of channeling, she fled the room as if escaping for her life.
Leaving the seven Commanders with varying expressions.
“Continue,” said Li Su, Supreme Commander of A3 Base, Mental Entity: Black Lion, indifferently.
Spending even one extra minute thinking about her was a waste of time.
