Chapter 23: Chi Wan, Where Are You Grabbing!
The moment he saw her, his brows furrowed tightly.
“What are you doing here?”
Here to pick a favorite male Sentinel to take back and humiliate?
Chi Wan said nothing, just walked out obediently.
Shen Yu shook his head and withdrew his gaze.
He even wanted to retract that tiger roar.
If he had known it was her, he wouldn’t have intervened.
As an SSS-rank Guide, one group soothing session from her equaled the workload of a hundred ordinary Guides for a day.
And it would add a lot of contribution points.
This was originally a win-win situation.
If the person standing before him weren’t Chi Wan, he would have immediately informed her that such a large-scale group soothing required at least five SS-rank Sentinels for protection, in case Sentinels with extremely out-of-control Mental Power did something out of line or hurt her.
But facing Chi Wan, he didn’t want to say a single extra word.
“Moving out. Thorn City.”
He started walking immediately, and the Sentinels beside him followed at once.
Hearing the words “Thorn City,” Chi Wan was a little blank.
A week before she transmigrated, the original host had thrown the extremely precious Purification Stone left to Pei Yuan, the Supreme Commander of K3 Base, by his deceased parents, right there in Thorn City.
What happened after that…
He took the entire K3 Base personnel and searched there for three whole days but couldn’t find it.
When he returned, his eyes were scarlet. The usually calm and collected man had bloodshot eyes and a haggard face.
With his Teleportation ability, no one could stop him.
He strangled her neck just like that; a little more force would have killed her on the spot.
“Chi Wan, do you think I don’t dare to kill you?”
But the mechanized lifeform of the original host had no emotion of fear.
She just smiled at him, the monitoring function on her optical computer flashing a faint red light.
“Pei Yuan, it’s your blessing that I fancy you. Since I came here, I’ve extended olive branches to you many times. Not only are you not grateful, but you avoid me like a snake. I want you to pay the price for your arrogant ignorance!”
He stopped being angry.
As if suddenly calming down, he straightened up and looked down at her.
Calmly, as if looking at a dead person.
“Don’t look at me with those eyes, Pei Yuan, you parentless bastard.”
…
Snapping out of the memory, Chi Wan shivered in fear.
If anyone among the seven male leads hated her the most.
It was definitely Pei Yuan.
She had insulted him, a survivor of a genocide caused by betrayal, calling him a bastard, and thrown away the only relic left by his parents, the only Purification Stone in the galaxy.
He hated her to the bone.
[Go find it, Host! Go to Thorn City and find that stone!]
“They searched for three days and couldn’t find it. I…”
[I can help you. Go!]
Hope surged in Chi Wan’s heart. She looked at the team about to disappear from sight and trotted to catch up.
“Wait! Can I hitch a ride with you to Thorn City?”
Several Sentinels wanted to stop, but seeing their Commander not slowing downâeven walking fasterâno one dared to say anything, just burying their heads and hurrying along.
Leaving the Soothing Building and passing through the bustling crowd, they arrived at the N9 Base unit.
Two light armored vehicles were parked there.
Obviously, it was just a small-scale operation.
“Commander, the modified motorcycle sent by Commander Shi Ye.”
Shen Yu took the key and looked at the majestic behemoth. The red lines on the black body were sleek and cool.
“Red Eagle 8. So generous.”
He asked to borrow one, and Shi Ye gave him one of the top-tier models directly.
Shen Yu couldn’t put it down. The smile on his face couldn’t be hidden. Patting the high-quality anti-pollution premium seat, he said briskly:
“Let’s go!”
“Yes, Commander.”
More than twenty Sentinels quickly entered the light armored vehicles.
Shen Yu straddled the Red Eagle 8, put on leather gloves, and his line of sight caught the silver-haired girl panting as she caught up.
Most of his smile faded, and he looked away.
But then, as if thinking of something, he looked at her again.
“Want to go to Thorn City?”
Chi Wan nodded earnestly.
“Get on.”
??
Seeing her face full of hesitation, Shen Yu patted the seat in front of him.
He repeated, “Get on.”
Under the sunlight, the young man’s white hair was clean and sunny. In his naturally smiling eyes, the amber irises looked obedient and kind no matter how you looked at them.
Chi Wan bit her lip, looked at the two light armored vehicles, and assumed they were full, which was why he told her to sit on his motorcycle.
She walked toward him.
The tall motorcycle wasn’t easy to climb. Her small hands grasped the seat, one foot on the pedal, and she struggled to sit up.
“Sit tight.”
A hint of mischief rose in his amber eyes. He started the motorcycle, and amidst the roar of the engine, the bike shot out like it was flying.
With a cry of surprise, Chi Wan hugged Shen Yu’s waist tightly.
The muscles of the young man’s waist were tight. As he drove, his abs contracted, heaving slightly, bursting with hormones.
But the nervous Chi Wan noticed none of this.
She was just scared.
His waist offered no grip at all. She could only hug him forcefully, practically plastering herself to his back.
The scenery on both sides became a blur. The modified motorcycle not only had top-tier speed but also reduced noise significantly.
But the terrain of the polluted world was rugged. Even with super shock absorption, bumping was inevitable when speeding over potholed ground.
Chi Wan’s small face hurt from rubbing against him. She kept her eyes squeezed shut, not daring to open them even a crack, every cell in her body trembling with fear.
Shen Yu was steady from start to finishâsteady mood, steady driving skills.
This deliberate act of revenge paused for a moment after he glimpsed the small hands at his waist about to lose their grip and felt the body behind him becoming increasingly unstable.
He stopped the bike.
The area leading to Thorn City had been developed and had few pollution entities, so it was relatively safe.
The main force hadn’t caught up yet and was still behind.
Supporting the massive bike with one foot on the ground, he turned his head slightly, leisurely:
“How is it, Guide Chi Wan? You okay?”
Waiting for a long time with no response.
He turned to look at her.
The girl was obviously terrified. Her entire face, including her lips, was white, and her red-rimmed eyes showed she had been scared to tears.
Her small hands gripped the sides of the seat tightly as the bike stopped, her shoulders trembling slightly from fear.
Is it that scary?
The astonishment in Shen Yu’s eyes lasted only a second.
He had intended to take revenge on her.
Revenge for her vicious behavior during the last time they operated together.
The real revenge hadn’t even started yet, so why did she look like she was about to shatter?
Not wanting her to be thrown off halfway, Shen Yu compromised and lifted her up.
He placed her in front of him.
Sudden lifted to his front, Chi Wan lost her balance and smashed her small face into his chest.
With the strong wind along the way and her pulling, his collar had been pulled extremely low. This time, it was direct skin-to-skin contact.
The soft touch sent an electric shock through his body.
He pushed her away, his glare practically a warning.
Chi Wan was so anxious she was about to cry.
“N… not on purpose!”
“You should thank the fact that this bike was modified; the front can barely hold you.”
As he spoke, he put his hands back on the handlebars.
“If you dare try anything funny, I’ll throw you off.”
The girl nodded pitifully.
Her fluffy silver hair looked indescribably cute from above.
He actually thought she was cute.
Shen Yu felt his brain must have been muddled by the strong wind just now.
The motorcycle started again.
At high speed, she was almost completely embedded in his arms.
He could even perceive her body structure and the sensation of every touch.
Shen Yu felt increasingly that something was wrong.
He started to regret it.
Why does it feel like I found myself in trouble?
In his distraction, the motorcycle hit a small hill and leaped high into the air. He gripped the handlebars steadily, straightening his back and shifting his center of gravity backward.
During the high leap, Chi Wan felt like she was going to fly out. Helpless, she reached out in panic.
The young man’s exasperated voice rang out above her head:
“Chi Wan, where are you touching!”
