Sentinel & Guide: From Pariah to Heartthrob Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Cang Lin’s Revenge

“But Guide Chi Wan, that kind of soothing won’t last long at all!”

The medic chased after Chi Wan.

Guide soothing for Sentinel Mental Entities was divided into three types—

False Soothing: Mental Entity soothing. Can be one-on-one or one-to-many. Usually involves soothing between Mental Entities, but it only achieves basic relief.

True Soothing: Mental Landscape combination and physical contact. The Guide touches the Sentinel’s body, such as the head or nape. Through the dual deep soothing of the Mental Landscape and physical contact, the effect is usually much more effective than False Soothing.

Contract Soothing: A true union between Guide and Sentinel. The Guide leaves a pheromone marker within the Sentinel’s Mental Landscape, making them designated partners for life. Once the contract is formed, it cannot be broken unless one party dies. (Contracted Sentinels and Guides are usually considered partners/spouses by default.)

Facing SSS-rank Commanders with extremely high demands…

That brief False Soothing just now wouldn’t last for shit.

Chi Wan understood this, of course. She kept her head down and walked toward the Guide Pheromone Extraction Room.

“I know. I can extract pheromones for them.”

The medic was stunned.

“Really, Guide Chi Wan? That would be wonderful!”

As soon as she entered the extraction room, Chi Wan cooperated fully and began drawing blood.

The original host, a dignified SSS-rank Guide from a noble background, was here solely because she was the only SSS-rank Guide in the galaxy.

There was one other reason—she admired strength and was lustful.

So, to get close to these top men of the galaxy, she refused to provide pheromones as soon as she arrived, forcing them to crawl at her feet and be toyed with.

Thinking of this, Chi Wan closed her eyes again.

The sins of the original host… she would bear them.

When the blood draw reached 400ml, the medic moved to stop it.

“Don’t stop. Keep drawing.”

The pheromones diluted from 400ml of blood wouldn’t be enough for seven people to use for three days.

The medic froze, then stared blankly at Chi Wan.

Wait, has Guide Chi Wan become a different person today?!

The machine stopped when the blood draw reached 1000ml.

[Detected blood draw limit reached. To prevent damage to the Guide’s bodily functions, stopping blood draw.]

The medic quickly took the thick blood bag to be diluted.

Guides were rare, and their blood was expensive; it was generally diluted into Guide Pheromones.

Having drawn 1000ml of blood, Chi Wan felt dizzy. She hadn’t eaten yet.

She walked all the way to the temporary base’s cafeteria, picked up a simple meal, and headed toward her quarters.

Her room was the best in the temporary base and was on the same floor as the Commanders.

This was a specific demand made by the original host.

As soon as she opened the door, without even turning on the lights, she ate a few bites and collapsed onto the bed.

Just as she was groggily drifting off to sleep, Chi Wan heard a noise.

The bedside lamp suddenly turned on.

She opened her eyes and saw a Sentinel standing by the bed, staring at her coldly. He had black hair and golden eyes, a tall and robust build. His combat uniform was crisp and sharp, outlining his broad back and narrow waist, exuding the ease and control of a superior being.

At this moment, those golden eyes watched her coldly. The corners of his mouth held a bloodthirsty curve, yet there was no smile on his face.

It was Cang Lin. Mental Entity: Golden Dragon, Supreme Commander of A1 Base, Ability: Instant Kill.

Cang Lin.

Chi Wan wasn’t sleepy anymore. A shiver of fear ran through her body as her gaze moved past his towering figure to the shattered glass room behind him.

Memories of the dead began to attack her frantically.

As soon as the original host arrived, she had made things difficult for Cang Lin, who never gave her a pleasant face. He possessed super SSS-rank Mental Power and combat strength, and his personality was straightforward and domineering. To retaliate for his “rude” attitude, the original host refused to soothe him, forcing him to seek out SS-rank Guides.

It was already extremely difficult for an SS-rank Guide to cross-rank soothe an SSS-rank Sentinel, let alone a super SSS-rank. After several battles, his Mental Entity was on the verge of a manic collapse.

At that time, the sadistic original host summoned him to her room, tricking him into thinking she would soothe him.

In reality, she locked him in the glass room and released a catalyst to intensify his mental mania.

She watched him, in his state of collapse and wretchedness, for a whole day.

By the time his subordinates found him, he had passed out from the suppression.

This incident happened just the day before she transmigrated.

Chi Wan wanted to say something, but her mouth was clamped shut by his hand.

After her brief soothing earlier, his abilities had mostly recovered. Under the suppression of a super SSS-rank against an SSS-rank, Chi Wan’s heart was filled with terror.

“System, System!”

She called frantically in her mind.

The System’s voice was lazy, sounding nasally as if it had just woken up.

[Can’t help it, Host. Debts must be paid. Just endure it.]

[At most, he’ll just force you to soothe him. He won’t do anything else to you; he hates you too much for that.]

Chi Wan was full of resistance. You try enduring it!

“That stunt just now… another one of your clumsy tricks?”

He moved gradually closer. With the massive height difference, he cast a large shadow over her.

His low, husky voice revealed a hidden killing intent.

Chi Wan shook her head, trying to break free from his grip. But having just drawn blood, she had no strength in her body, and her Mental Power was in a weakened state.

“It’s rare to see such an expression on you.”

Cang Lin scoffed, one hand firmly controlling her limbs.

“Pity the acting is too clumsy.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he forcefully restrained her. His Mental Power, even stronger than hers, forcibly invaded her Mental Landscape.

Chi Wan’s Mental Landscape, weakened from excessive blood loss, was pried open.

This was her most vulnerable place.

She trembled all over.

She whimpered, trembling, but with her lips covered, she couldn’t piece together a complete syllable.

Cang Lin didn’t look at her at all, as if she were something filthy. Regarding her resistance, he felt no sympathy or care, only contempt.

His Mental Entity rampaged frantically within her Mental Landscape.

A massive Black-Gold Dragon rose into the sky!

Blocking out the sun!

The terrifying oppression pinned Chi Wan down firmly.

Super SSS-rank Sentinel—terrifying to this extent.

The Black-Gold Dragon sated itself within Chi Wan’s Mental Landscape.

Finally, it withdrew ruthlessly.

He stood up heartlessly, intending to leave.

But when his golden eyes swept over Chi Wan, he paused slightly.

She was born extremely beautiful, with silver hair that shimmered with blue-violet iridescence and skin that was translucent and white—a rare beauty in the galaxy.

It was just that her atrocious personality had greatly tarnished her image.

Lying there now, clothes disheveled, her eyes red from crying, she actually looked somewhat fragile and helpless.

Cang Lin crossed his arms and looked at her coldly.

“Being nasty didn’t work, so you changed your tactics?”

She was an SSS-rank Guide; it was just a Mental Landscape invasion. Why pretend to be pitiful?

She could handle it perfectly fine.
