Chapter 4: It’s What She Deserves
He didn’t look at her again and turned to leave.
When the door closed once more, Chi Wan crawled up from the bed, sniffing and sobbing. The assembly message on her optical computer was flashing.
It was time to go.
Dragging her somewhat weak body, she tidied her messy clothes and hair.
[Oi~! Host, cheer up!]
Chi Wan’s face fell. “How can I cheer up? A fake noble whose identity is about to be exposed, and I’ve offended seven male leads.”
Better to just let her die right now.
[To motivate the Host to become stronger, a skill is now rewarded!]
“What skill?”
[Skill NameāLittle Guide Me, I Just Love Soothing Sentinels~]
“…What kind of weird skill name is that?”
[This is a passive skill. The Host will gain Combat Value when soothing Sentinels!]
[Host’s Current Info Panelā
Chi Wan
Height: 173cm
Weight: 50kg
Mental Power: SSS Rank
Combat Value: 0]
Chi Wan: “I only have 0 Combat Value? In the novel, the heroine has super SSS-rank Combat Value.”
Super SSS-rank Mental Power, super SSS-rank Combat Value.
The heroine’s specs were top-tier.
[Guide Combat Values are all 0. The heroine you mentioned… um…]
The System’s voice sounded dazed, as if deep in thought.
Chi Wan didn’t have time to chat with the seemingly dim-witted system. Seeing the assembly message flash again on her optical computer, she quickly walked out.
Passing through the temporary base constructed of high-tech, smart equipment and modern architecture, she stepped into the world outside.
Outside the base, it was a gray expanse. The entire world seemed shrouded in haze, with extremely low visibility. Wind and sand mixed with various foul odors assaulted the senses.
This was the polluted world.
At this moment, most of the Sentinels outside the base had finished assembling.
This temporary alliance, formed by seven of the galaxy’s top bases, was powerful in every aspect.
Modified light armored vehicles were parked outside the base.
“Guide Chi Wan, which team do you want to join?”
Following the question from the Base Inspection Captain, Yun Qi, standing at the front of the crowd, swept a faint glance over her.
His cold blue eyes held little emotion, but Chi Wan still read a hint of disgust.
The other male leads didn’t even deign to give her a look.
The previous three times they went out for operations, the original host had caused no shortage of trouble. Yet, they desperately needed an SSS-rank Guide, so they had to endure her various atrocious behaviors.
She swallowed hard and looked toward the dark green convoy in the distance.
“I’ll go with Commander Qi Ye’s team.”
Qi Ye. Mental Entity: Silver Python, Supreme Commander of C3 Base, Ability: Mind Reading.
The Inspection Captain immediately led Chi Wan toward the main force of C3 Base.
C3 Base’s light armored vehicles were mostly dark green with silver snake patterns on the body. The design was exquisite; one could tell the designer had taste.
Accompanying Guides usually sat in the lead vehicle with the Commander to observe the overall situation and provide timely mental barriers.
She passed through the crowd and the convoy, walking toward the vehicle at the very front. To the side, the black and gold convoy was Cang Lin’s A1 Base unit.
Cang Lin hadn’t boarded yet. His Mental Entity was in excellent condition, and both his combat power and five senses were at their peak.
He leaned against the vehicle, his cold, arrogant golden eyes glancing sideways at the approaching Chi Wan.
Her small face was paler than usual, with red rims around her eyes from crying earlier. Upon seeing him, she was obviously terrified and repulsed, burying her head and walking faster.
Seeing her like this, the corners of Cang Lin’s mouth lifted.
Being afraid of himāthat was correct.
“Commanders, before you go, take the latest Guide Pheromones!”
A medic rushed over carrying a pheromone case.
Cang Lin crossed his arms and looked over. “What pheromones?”
They each carried SS-rank pheromones to deal with emergencies.
“It’s SSS-rank pheromones. Guide Chi Wan drew them. She drew a full 1000ml of blood. Everyone, please use it sparingly.”
Hearing the medic’s words, Cang Lin’s expression changed.
She… drew 1000ml of blood?
Her extreme resistance and fragile weeping from earlier flashed through his mind.
1000ml would weaken a Guide’s Mental Landscape. Forced soothing could very likely be unbearable for her.
Cang Lin took the pheromones and looked at Chi Wan’s retreating back, his eyes flickering.
But in the end, he did nothing.
Even so, it was what she deserved.
The convoys departed one by one.
Arriving at the lead light armored vehicle of the C3 Base convoy, Chi Wan saw Qi Ye sitting in the passenger cabin, resting his head on his hand.
Qi Ye.
Under his gray hair, his expression was unclear. But despite the somewhat warm weather, his presence made the passenger cabin feel cold.
Chi Wan walked in and sat quietly in the corner furthest from him.
This Commander was a mysophobe, extremely obsessed with cleanliness.
After refusing the original host’s request to touch his body for mental soothing, she had retaliatively thrown his favorite dagger into a cesspit.
It was said that the dagger had special significance to him. He had forced himself, despite his intense germophobia, to retrieve the dagger and spend a whole day cleaning it inside and out.
Since then, he had detested the original host to the extreme.
Thinking of this, Chi Wan glanced at the dagger at his waist and silently lowered her head.
Regardless, as a Mind Reader, he should be able to see that she was full of repentance and held no ill will toward him, right?
Perhaps following him wouldn’t be so hard.
The vehicle began to move.
The scenery outside was clearly visible through the windows.
As they drove, the vehicle became surrounded by pollution fog, drastically reducing visibility.
Inside the vehicle, Qi Ye’s voice rang out coldly:
“Keep a distance of more than three meters from me at all times. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee I won’t break Interstellar Law…”
His emotionless green eyes were lowered, looking at the tech screen on his lap, not even sparing her a glance. His gloomy voice seemed dipped in deadly poison:
“…and kill you right here.”
