Chapter 55: More Power
[Latest Alliance S-rank Bulletin, issued by Commander Li Su of Base A3—]
[The Sea of Lost has been discovered in exploration zone 0341. The Sea of Lost is hidden within a space-time rift. It is preliminary estimated that this rift was caused by a Rank 9 or even Rank 10 Polluted Entity. Specific details require further exploration.]
The star-screen inside the cabin actively broadcast the Alliance special bulletin.
“Sea of Lost…”
Chi Wan looked at the digital images on the star-screen and fell into thought. It was such a familiar name.
Qi Ye said in a low voice: “It was formerly Planet C-1. The Polluted Entities of Planet C-1 migrated on a large scale to the sea area of Planet A-73, so the Alliance calls it the Sea of Lost.”
Chi Wan had naturally heard of Planet C-1.
Planet C-1 was also called the Star of the Sea God. Because the planet was mostly covered by ocean with very little land, the humans living there were somewhat different from ordinary humans, possessing an ancient marine lineage—especially the Sea God lineage, whose blood was said to have special functions.
However, after long evolution and change, their appearance had become identical to humans.
But unfortunately, ten years ago, this legendary beautiful and dreamlike Sea God Star was completely infested by Polluted Entities.
It became a desolate, abandoned planet.
Thinking of this, Chi Wan shook her head regretfully:
“Too bad. Such a special bloodline, just disappeared like that.”
“It hasn’t disappeared.”
Qi Ye looked at Chi Wan: “Yun Qi is the only survivor of the Sea God Star bloodline from back then.”
As he spoke, his gaze looked into the distance:
“So he has been searching for the Sea of Lost.”
…
As soon as Chi Wan arrived back at the Alliance, she fell into a deep sleep. Early the next morning, she was pulled up by staff for a follow-up visit.
After that last incident, the Alliance now paid special attention to her, even arranging staff to regularly record her physical feedback in the Alliance.
Chi Wan had an excellent attitude and cooperated well. The two talked and laughed all the way, soon arriving at the Soothing Building.
Chi Wan’s Soothing location.
“It’s been detected that your Contribution Points have recently surged, Guide Chi Wan. The Alliance is gifting you a Rank 7 Crystal. You can go to the Alliance’s Crystal Room to pick one yourself. You have access rights to the Crystal Room; just go there when you’re ready~”
“Alright, thank you.”
After the staff left, Chi Wan happened to pass by Kui An’s Soothing room.
The door to the Soothing room happened to be opening.
A tall Sentinel ran out of her room as if escaping for his life.
Inside the room, Kui An, in a cheongsam, sat with her legs crossed on a high chair, looking elegant and charming.
And behind her…
A giant man-eating flower was swaying its massive head.
The man-eating flower was bright red all over, with some green around the edges of its petals. Its sharp, dense flower teeth were wide open, snapping together, looking extremely terrifying.
The moment she saw Chi Wan, Kui An smiled brightly:
“Oh my, Guide Chi Wan~”
She stood up and walked slowly toward Chi Wan:
“You asked me on the light-brain about Dudu. I haven’t had time to reply yet. It’s still being repaired; it might take some more time.”
“Alright, thank you, Guide Kui An.”
As Chi Wan spoke, her gaze moved to the electroshock equipment behind Kui An:
“Guide Kui An, can you teach me how to use this equipment?”
“Of course I can. I’m the most familiar with this one~”
After some explanation, Kui An looked at Chi Wan’s thoughtful small face.
She thought she was scared by this terrifying big guy.
Who knew Chi Wan would think for a few seconds and directly ask:
“你知道有那種,電力更強,能對付和牛一樣壯的生物的電擊儀器嗎?” (Do you know of the kind… that has stronger power, capable of dealing with a creature as strong as a bull?)
This sentence stunned even Kui An.
Her brain worked rapidly, and the way she looked at Chi Wan changed several times.
Finally, she leaned close to Chi Wan and smiled:
“I didn’t expect a little thing like you to have such ‘heavy’ tastes. Don’t worry, I’ll arrange it. I have acquaintances in the Mechanical Department~”
Chi Wan breathed a heavy sigh of relief, her eyes full of gratitude.
…
Kui An was very efficient. Within an hour, she arranged for several strong men to help Chi Wan install a brand-new “electroshock package.”
The new electroshock package was twice as large as the original, and the power was MAX level.
“I assembled this urgently. I guarantee the electricity is sufficient!”
The strong man from the Mechanical Department patted his chest in guarantee.
They briefly taught Chi Wan the operational precautions and then left.
Because the operation was a bit complex, Chi Wan didn’t fully learn it.
But she wasn’t in a hurry; she could learn slowly later.
Chi Wan took a deep breath.
With this equipment, she could deal with that annoying guy.
She removed Cang Lin from her block list, then began her “on duty” mode.
[Sentinel locked. Next, the information of the first Sentinel will be announced.]
Chi Wan looked at the screen.
“Cang Lin. Commander-in-Chief of Base A1. Over-SSS-rank Sentinel. Mental Entity: Black-Gold Giant Dragon. Ability: Instant-Kill. Violence Value: 89%.”
Like a bolt from the blue. He was the first one.
Chi Wan felt an intense sense of repulsion.
She hadn’t fully learned how to use the equipment yet, and he was already here.
When Cang Lin walked in, what he saw was Chi Wan’s sour face.
“You don’t need to be so reluctant. I will give you Star Coin tips beyond your imagination. We each get what we need.”
Chi Wan put down her star-screen, the movement not particularly gentle.
She pointed behind her, her small face expressionless, her voice cold:
“Go there.”
Cang Lin looked behind her. The electroshock equipment, which was twice the size of those in other Guides’ rooms, was so brand-new it looked as if it had never been used.
He was immediately displeased, crossing his arms and looking at her:
“You’re using this on me the very first time I’m here?”
Chi Wan didn’t even look at him:
“So what? This is my Soothing room; I make the rules. Soothing rooms are all equipped with monitoring devices. If you don’t follow my Soothing requirements, you can leave on your own.”
As she spoke, her small face was fierce, one hand placed on the alarm button:
“Or I can call the security Sentinels to drag you out on the grounds that you are not following a Guide’s instructions.”
Cang Lin breathed heavily, exhaling a thick breath of frustration.
Fine, very fine.
His subordinates had praised her to the heavens for how gentle she was.
She was gentle to other Sentinels, but for him, she was like this.
He had forced her to Soothe him once, but hadn’t she been even more out of line at the beginning?
Cang Lin stopped lingering and strode toward the door.
“Chirp—”
The mechanical door of the Soothing room opened.
His footsteps, however, stopped at the doorway.
The Mental Entity inside his body was howling madly.
The originally deep and thick dragon roar was now somewhat raspy, almost cursing its master for being useless.
Closing his eyes tightly, Cang Lin finally walked toward that electroshock equipment with a dark face.
In the entire Alliance, no Guide had ever dared to shock him.
He had never even been on one of those things.
Translator’s Note: Haha, Chi Wan is such a savage! She’s literally getting a high-voltage cattle prod setup just for Cang Lin. “重口” (Zhòngkǒu) means “heavy taste” or “kinky,” and Kui An totally misunderstood Chi Wan’s intentions! This cliffhanger is great; Cang Lin is so desperate for her soothing that he’s willing to be electrocuted. Talk about a “Crematorium” arc! See you next time!
