Chapter 67: Crisis
Chi Wan hadn’t yet recovered from Cang Lin’s sudden humble attitude when she heard a familiar female voice:
“Little Wanwan!”
She scrambled up from the gravel ground of the new space and saw Kui An running toward her from the group of Sentinels.
She was instantly filled with joy: “Sister Kui An!”
Great, it’s finally not one of those annoying people.
To her surprise, Kui An’s expression after running over was uglier than if she were crying:
“Things are a bit bad. There are only thirty-six Sentinels in total. The highest is only A-rank, and not a single one has an ability.
The space portal has closed. No more new people will be sent in!”
Chi Wan’s heart tightened. Through the panicked Sentinels, she saw Polluted Entities closing in.
These entities were all slime-like. Although their crawling speed wasn’t very fast, their numbers were staggering.

She quickly calmed down and surveyed the cave-like terrain around them:
“Everyone, don’t panic. If we can’t win a direct fight, we’ll find a way to outsmart them.”

In an instant, the leaderless Sentinels began to treat Chi Wan as their backbone.
“Yes! Control the entities first, and let’s think of a strategy together!”
Kui An was also calmer and more resolute than most Sentinels. Her usually smiling and glamorous face was now set in a stern expression, giving off a reliable “big sister” vibe.

The other Sentinels moved into action quickly.

That Sentinel now looked visibly ashamed.
Just yesterday, he was still voicing his disdain for Guide Chi Wan, yet now he had to rely on her to face the danger.
Chi Wan said nothing and just ran quickly toward the other side:
“Follow me.”
“Little Wanwan, are you going to look for the rift? I’m coming too!”
Kui An followed behind the three of them.
Chi Wan searched all the way through the cave and finally found a weak point.
“It’s here. Sorry to trouble you two to help break it open.”
The two A-rank Sentinels were extremely helpful. In their desperation, since weapons weren’t convenient and they didn’t have explosive guns, they used their fists directly. Both pairs of fists were bloodied before the rock finally gave way, revealing a hole.
Immediately after, a vast pool of slime appeared before their eyes.
And at the very center of that pool, a space-time rift fragment floated above.
Seeing the fragment, Kui An rejoiced:
“Little Wanwan, you’re amazing.”
She spoke as she pulled Chi Wan back a bit:
“Leave the destruction of the fragment to me!”
“Sister Kui An, destroying the fragment requires energy attacks.”
Kui An’s face froze. Energy was something she, a Guide, did not possess.
“Then we’ll go, Guide Chi Wan. You two wait for us here.”
The two Sentinels volunteered.
The voices of the group were all extremely low, bordering on lip-reading.
Chi Wan’s expression was grave: “I’m going with you.”
The three of them made a break for the space-time rift in one go. The moment their feet stepped into the slime, they sank significantly. The dormant slime pool seemed to be awakened as a massive amount of slime entities emerged from it!
Chi Wan panicked and quickly strengthened one of the Sentinels:
“Run fast!”
That Sentinel accelerated. Several slime entities flew up and stuck to Chi Wan. She quickly pulled out a short knife to cut them away.
Kui An watched anxiously. However, in the next second, a violent tremor came from behind.
Through the earpiece, an emergency transmission came from the Sentinels at the back of the cave:
“Guide Kui An, we are under attack by a high-level entity here! We can’t hold it!”
“Run toward the rear, keep going left, and come to me!”
“Understood!”
Kui An was frantic with worry. She turned back and saw that the Sentinel had already reached the space-time rift.
“Hurry, even faster!”
“As long as we destroy the rift, we can get out of here!”
Amidst Kui An’s intense anticipation, the Sentinel struck the space-time rift with a blade carrying energy.
The entire space began to vibrate!
“Great!”
Kui An was filled with joy, waiting for the space-time transfer.
However, the entire slime pool began to churn violently!
A giant high-level slime entity stood up from within it. Its massive size was incredibly oppressive. It swung its palm quickly toward the three people, including Chi Wan!

Outside the Mother Pool.
In the center of the dense crowd.
Li Su looked at the black fog:
“Only the last space is left, but it’s also the hardest one to break open.”
Cang Lin: “Based on preliminary sensing, there are at least two space-time rift fragments inside.”
As they spoke, their expressions were extremely grave.

“Can you predict where the breakthrough point is? We’ll break the fog together.”
