Shocking The Madman Stole Someone Else’s Canary to be His Wife Chapter 25

Chapter 25: You Can Have Two

Crazy.

“I’ve told you many times, I have a boyfriend!” Wen Yan’s voice trembled, grievance mixed with anger surging in his chest.

The dizziness caused by days of exhaustion and emotional fluctuations grew stronger.

Why did all these things happen on the same day? He thought the job transfer was the start of good days; he never imagined it would turn out like this.

Pei Zhouye was completely unaffected. His pitch-black eyes locked onto him unblinkingly, not wanting to miss a single change in his expression.

“You can have two.”

He thought he was patiently guiding him while swallowing his pride, completely unaware of how obvious the gloom in his eyes and the gritted teeth in his tone were.

Psychopath.

Wen Yan truly believed Gu Yulan when he said Pei Zhouye was a psychopath.

Pei Zhouye took a step closer, his shadow completely enveloping Wen Yan. “And now? Do you still think Gu Yulan is gentle?”

Standing in the dim light, those dark eyes looked at Wen Yan. “Wen Yan, he is lying to you.”

“Wen Yan, do you regret it?”

He chuckled lightly. “Why not try with me?”

His voice was low and dangerous, like a demon tempting someone.

Wen Yan was just about to speak when suddenly his vision went black, and his body fell forward uncontrollably.

Before losing consciousness completely, he vaguely felt a pair of arms steadily catch him.

The sounds in his ears were blurry; he couldn’t hear anything clearly.

On the way to the hospital, a black sedan sped through the night.

Pei Zhouye held the unconscious Wen Yan tightly, alarmed by how light the person in his arms felt.

On Wen Yan’s pale face, his eyelashes cast two shadows under his eyes, and his lips were so pale they were almost transparent.

Fear, that sensation of fear crawled up again. Pei Zhouye’s hands were trembling as he leaned down to check the temperature on his forehead.

This scene had happened before. Back then, Wen Yan was delirious in his arms, and no matter how he called, he wouldn’t wake up.

The boy in the rainstorm was soaked through, clothes clinging to his thin body, black hair plastered messily against his pale cheeks, docile and quiet, his breathing faint.

He held the unconscious Wen Yan, watching those long eyelashes shut tight, lips that usually carried a smile now purple with cold.

Trembling fingers pressed against the cold chest. When he leaned down to perform artificial respiration, he tasted the metallic bitterness of river water.

In that moment, he couldn’t distinguish if the trembling between his lips and teeth was due to fear or something else.

That frantic artificial respiration was his and Wen Yan’s first kiss.

After sending Wen Yan into the emergency room, Pei Zhouye leaned against the wall outside, unable to recover his senses for a long time.

When Wen Yan opened his eyes again, he was surrounded by whiteness, the faint smell of disinfectant in the air.

Just as he moved his fingers, the person beside the bed immediately woke up, helped him sit up, and placed a pillow behind his waist.

The movements of caring for someone were gentle yet unskilled.

Pei Zhouye pressed the nurse call button by the bed before letting his gaze fall on Wen Yan.

“Are you feeling better now?” His voice was hoarse.

Pei Zhouye suddenly thought of something. “Don’t speak yet, I’ll pour you some water.”

After a cup of warm water was handed to him, Wen Yan took a few sips under his forceful gaze.

If he didn’t drink, Pei Zhouye might truly hold the cup and feed him.

“Thank you,” Wen Yan said hoarsely.

He always said thank you to Pei Zhouye, yet he could never repay him.

Wen Yan saw Pei Zhouye’s face clearly and paused, his voice dry. “Have you been here all night?”

Pei Zhouye’s eyes were bloodshot, filled with red veins.

“En,” he responded casually.

The nervousness that shouldn’t belong to Pei Zhouye finally dissipated. The familiar laziness and indolence returned to him.

Wen Yan pursed his lips, not knowing what to say.

The doctor and nurse arrived quickly, knocked, and entered to examine Wen Yan.

Pei Zhouye leaned casually against a spot, tiredly raising his eyes to watch the frail person on the bed, listening carefully to what the medical staff said.

Although the doctor said the fainting was caused by illness and emotional agitation and there were no major issues, Pei Zhouye didn’t dare relax. After a night of mental tension, his temples were throbbing with pain.

As soon as the doctor finished explaining everything, Pei Zhouye spoke lazily, “You should have listened to me yesterday morning and come to the hospital properly.”

The staff left quickly, closing the door hurriedly.

Only Pei Zhouye and Wen Yan remained in the ward.

Saved by him again, and the other party had guarded him all night.

Wen Yan explained gently and patiently, “I was already much better yesterday morning.”

“Sure, the moment I agreed to your job transfer, your illness was suddenly cured,” Pei Zhouye said sarcastically.

Hearing such sarcastic words, Wen Yan didn’t know why, but he actually smiled.

“I’ll transfer the medical expenses to you later,” Wen Yan said softly, looking at the dark circles under Pei Zhouye’s eyes. “You should rest first.”

Pei Zhouye stared at him with a heavy gaze. “Will you suddenly leave?”

Leave? Wen Yan frowned, somewhat puzzled. “I’m recovered, of course I have to leave.”

Moreover, the hospitalization fee for this ward looked very expensive; he didn’t have enough money to stay longer.

He lowered his eyes in thought, not noticing Pei Zhouye’s increasingly paranoid and fervent gaze.

After a long silence, he raised his eyes, saw Pei Zhouye still looking in his direction, hesitated for a while, and spoke:

“Pei Zhouye, thank you for saving me time and again, but I won’t be with you, nor is it possible for me to accept having two boyfriends. That disrespects Gu Yulan, disrespects you, and disrespects feelings. I will handle and judge the matters between him and me myself, rather than listening to others tell me what kind of person he is. I am very grateful you saved me, and grateful you like me, but I only have gratitude for you. You will meet someone better and more suitable for you.”

This was the answer Wen Yan hadn’t said last night.

He said a long string of words, looking into Pei Zhouye’s pitch-black eyes, and sighed silently, wondering if the other party had listened.

“So you mean, you must see for yourself what kind of person Gu Yulan is?” Pei Zhouye’s tone was very bland, without fluctuation.

Wen Yan frowned.

Was that what he meant to express?

But Pei Zhouye wasn’t wrong.

“Yes. But what I wanted to say…”

Pei Zhouye stood up straight, highlighting his broad shoulders and long legs. He casually loosened his wrist and interrupted Wen Yan: “I understand.”

Wen Yan wasn’t sure if Pei Zhouye truly understood his meaning.

“Stay here at least until the end of today. The medical fees will be deducted from your salary. Don’t run around.”

It was a statement. Wen Yan had seen how Pei Zhouye worked at the company and knew there was no room for negotiation.

Pei Zhouye had already closed the door and left.

All morning, meals were delivered by people from outside. When Wen Yan wanted to go out, he discovered several bodyguards standing outside.

People outside weren’t allowed in, and he wasn’t allowed out.

Wen Yan felt helpless and speechless. He asked for a charging cable to charge his phone. The phone turned on slowly.

Once the phone responded, countless calls and text messages popped up.

It was a bombardment of texts from Gu Yulan.

Wen Yan felt resistance in his heart toward the things Gu Yulan did last night, but he still prepared to open and reply.

The ward door was suddenly pushed open.

It was one of the people from last night, Shen Yao.
