Shocking The Madman Stole Someone Else’s Canary to be His Wife Chapter 57

Chapter 57: Handprint

Bedroom

Pei Zhouye put a necklace and a bracelet on Wen Yan.

Wen Yan didn’t even get a clear look at the necklace, only seeing that it was covered in many small diamonds, very sparkly.

The bracelet was a simple chain with a strong sense of design; without excessive embellishment, its beauty relied on its unique structure.

Pei Zhouye turned off the lights with satisfaction, leaving only a night light on.

He liked decorating Wen Yan to make him even more beautiful.

Tonight, Pei Zhouye was exceptionally excited.

Wen Yan’s tear-filled eyes were hazy, tears rolling down continuously, his pretty face completely flushed.

The small diamonds sparkled, and together with those eyes that were usually extremely indifferent but now stained with lust, they flashed into Pei Zhouye’s eyes.

Pei Zhouye’s movements paused.

He took Wen Yan’s hand, and guiding that hand, slapped his own face with force.

A handprint quickly surfaced on that handsome face.

Wen Yan’s crying gasps grew heavier, his speech broken and intermittent.

“Psycho…”

4:00 AM

Pei Zhouye went downstairs, hunched over as he rummaged through the refrigerator.

“What are you looking for, Young Master?”

The butler woke up early. Hearing footsteps on the stairs, he got up and followed the sound into the kitchen.

Pei Zhouye straightened up, looking refreshed and relaxed.

The handprint on his face was obvious. The butler realized something and quickly lowered his head.

“Ice, to ice my face.”

It was already evening outside the window, the sunset an orange-red expanse.

Wen Yan was eating dinner, or rather, breakfast, in the dining room.

He didn’t know if he should thank Pei Zhouye for picking a day when he had no schedule to torment him.

Thinking of the person who went crazy and couldn’t understand human language, Wen Yan couldn’t help but sulk again, slamming the spoon down heavily.

“Young Master Wen, what’s wrong?” Hearing the noise, the butler asked immediately.

“Are you unsatisfied with tonight’s dinner? The Young Master instructed that the food should be lighter today.”

Wen Yan dropped his head, almost burying it in the bowl. “It’s nothing.”

Silence reigned for a few minutes.

The butler seemed to hesitate for a long time before lowering his voice to say:

“Young Master, your private hobbies are understandable. Just try not to hit the face; the Young Master still has to go to the company.”

Wen Yan’s movements froze, his face turning red rapidly. He didn’t reply, pretending not to hear.

Psycho.

How could he explain that Pei Zhouye used his hand to hit himself?

Pei Zhouye was sick.

He turned on his phone and found many messages.

Most were from Pei Zhouye.

Pei Zhouye said he was very busy recently and had to go on a business trip tomorrow, so he might not come back tonight.

Wen Yan lowered his eyes, put the phone away, and continued studying.

Pei Zhouye kept him like a pet, liking to dress him up and hang pretty decorations on him. He came to find him when he wanted to have sex, and left him hanging indifferently the rest of the time.

Wen Yan didn’t like wearing jewelry, but after hesitating for a long time, he still didn’t take off the necklace and bracelet.

He had seen the necklace in the mirror: a Möbius strip, a heart, and the initials P & W.

A custom necklace.

Piling every element on top of each other—Pei Zhouye was so tacky.

Wen Yan roasted him internally, but then objectively evaluated the necklace.

It wasn’t tacky; it was very beautiful.

Pei Zhouye was handling official business at one of Shen Yao’s properties.

His phone vibrated violently and lit up.

Shen Yao was startled.

Pei Zhouye didn’t even hide his secret delight, his face full of smugness.

Shen Yao immediately knew who sent the message. “What did Sister-in-law say?”

Pei Zhouye looked at the phone.

[Wife: Received.]

After replying, Pei Zhouye placed the phone face down on the table.

He said without changing his expression, “He told me to be careful on the road, have a safe journey, and that everything goes smoothly. He also said he loves me, misses me, and wants me to come home early.”

He said the string of words very fluently.

Shen Yao twitched the corner of his mouth.

Did he really send that much? Why did I only hear one notification sound?

He didn’t know what settings Pei Zhouye had for Wen Yan, but every time a message came, Pei Zhouye’s private phone acted like it was going to explode; it was hard not to hear it.

But that was Pei Zhouye, so no one said anything.

Shen Yao also had a talent for spouting nonsense. “Brother, you’re going to the US for a week starting tomorrow. You can’t blame Sister-in-law for being reluctant to part with you.”

Pei Zhouye gave a “Mn” of agreement. “We’ve been talking about it for a long time; it won’t do if I don’t go personally. I can’t bear to leave him either.”

In some aspects, American technology was still more advanced. Pei Zhouye had been discussing cooperation with a cutting-edge laboratory and a company over there for a while now.

There was a time difference between here and the US. Pei Zhouye slept during the day and worked at night. Afraid of disturbing Wen Yan at home, he hadn’t gone home for a whole week.

He wasn’t going home tonight because, after breaking his fast, he got a reaction just seeing Wen Yan.

Since they wouldn’t see each other for a week, he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to resist tormenting Wen Yan again.

Wife would get angry.

After finishing work, Pei Zhouye put down his computer and sat over to eat with Shen Yao.

“About the mountain climbing you mentioned before, have you picked which mountain?” Pei Zhouye asked suddenly.

Shen Yao named a mountain. “That peak is good. I checked the weather; watching the sunrise there is especially great…”

“What’s up, Brother? I’ll definitely call you when the time comes.” Shen Yao patted the sofa cushion.

Pei Zhouye’s eyes were cold. “I’m taking Wen Yan to see the stars.”

“He said he wants to see stars.”

Last night, he had forced Wen Yan to answer when he liked Gu Yulan the most.

Wen Yan said Gu Yulan had said he would take him to see the stars.

Damn stars, what’s so good about them.

Pei Zhouye’s expression was very cold.

Forget it. Whatever Wen Yan likes is a good thing.

Outside the hospital’s psychological consultation room.

Wen Yan’s number appeared on the display screen above. He stood up from the row of chairs.

He knocked three times and entered.

The consultation room was large, with a healing decor style and small green plants.

Seeing the familiar environment, Wen Yan relaxed instantly.

A kind-looking old lady sat in the chair, smiling at Wen Yan.

“Wen Yan, long time no see.”

Wen Yan walked over and sat opposite Dr. Ping.

“Hello, Dr. Ping. Long time no see.”

Opposite him was still that very kind-looking old lady. Wen Yan used to trust Dr. Ping very much, but today he felt something was strange.

This sense of weirdness had appeared frequently since meeting Pei Zhouye.

But Dr. Ping was the psychological consultation office he had found in A City two years ago. After two years of intermittent treatment, the other party was already very familiar with him.

Wen Yan tried his best to let go of that strangeness.

Dr. Ping asked, “What brings you here this time? Have those old issues gotten better?”

Wen Yan had nearly drowned once on a stormy night.

People who survive such events often have fears and aftereffects regarding certain things; Wen Yan was one of them.

He would often experience palpitations and fear from time to time, and always had recurring, blurry dreams.

He had a psychologist in Nan City, and after coming to A City, he met Dr. Ping.

Dr. Ping was very skilled. Initially, she even performed hypnosis, which was very effective.

After that, he rarely felt scared or had palpitations.

The two chatted a lot, going through the treatment process.

Wen Yan: “I rarely have that dream now.”

Dr. Ping smiled. “Time heals many things.”

There were five minutes left.

Wen Yan asked hesitantly, “Dr. Ping, I want to know about the symptoms of Stockholm Syndrome.”
