Chapter 13 – A Big Reveal?
Ning Yunyi took in the large cat, truly treating it as a member of the family.
To help the large cat recover quickly, he specially made a nutritious meal in the evening.
There was also the little kitten’s favorite fish.
Unlike the previous roasted fish, thisĀ time Ning Yunyi made a sweet and sour fish more suitable for the little cub to eat.
The well-seasoned sweet and sour sauce was thickened and poured over the crispy fried squirrel-style fish, the tangy and sweet aroma of the fish meat permeating the air.
In the corner, the large cat that had been resting with its eyes closed slowly opened them, its gray eyes looking over in disbelief, but only able to see a back.
The kitchen was mostly obscured, but it strained its nostrils, the strange and domineering aroma making it sit up, its fluffy large head pressed against the cage, until the cold touch brought it back to its senses.
The large cat was embarrassed but couldn’t help staring intently, almost as if it was staring through it.
Ning Xiaomiao was hanging on Ning Yunyi’s leg, standing on tiptoe, hisĀ bright green eyes wide and eager.
Ning Yunyi was amused by him, simply taking chopsticks to tear off the most tender piece of fish belly, the outside fried to a crispy golden, the inside still soft, coated in the rich sweet and sour sauce, letting it cool a bit before suddenly stuffing it into hisĀ mouth.
hisĀ entire taste buds were activated, the little kitten quickly covering hisĀ mouth with hisĀ small hands, afraid the fish meat would fall out.
Ning Yunyi’s laughter deepened, gently patting hisĀ little head, speaking softly: “Go set the bowls and utensils, it’s time to eat.”
Ning Xiaomiao nodded vigorously, scurrying over to the cabinet to get two sets of tableware, then running to the dining room.
When he was about to go back to the kitchen, he just happened to meet the large cat pressed against the cage, the little kitten covered hisĀ mouth to stifle a laugh, then ran to the corner, also setting the two large bowls for the large cat.
Imitating hisĀ father’s gesture, he reached out a small hand to stroke the exposed top of the large cat’s head, the fluffy sensation surprising him into wide eyes, then he stroked hisĀ own head.
Wow, the feeling was completely different.
But seeing the large cat’s shocked gaze, he couldn’t help stroking it again.
Only when he heard hisĀ father call him did he scurry back.
The large cat lay back down, using its large paw to pat its head, still shocked that it had been petted by a little cub.
But the constantly wagging tail behind it revealed that it was in a good mood and didn’t dislike it.
Ning Yunyi had eaten a lot at noon, so he didn’t make too much for dinner, afraid the little cub would overeat.
Aside from the sweet and sour fish, he had simmered a pot of pumpkin porridge, and also stewed a pot of yellow soybean pork trotter soup.
He served Ning Xiaomiao a bowl of porridge, a bowl of pork trotter soup, and picked out the best parts of the fish belly for him, along with a simple tofu dish, just right.
After all, the little one had eaten a big piece of cake in the early afternoon.
He left what he wanted to eat, and the remaining fish head, tail, and the rest of the meat were all left for the large cat.
Of course, there was also a substantial amount of pumpkin porridge and pork trotter soup.
The large cat had straightened up as soon as Ning Yunyi approached, its beast eyes fixed intently on Ning Yunyi’s… hands holding the clay pot.
When half a pot of pork trotter soup, along with the soft-cooked pork trotters, was poured into its large bowl, the rising steam made it unconsciously press against the cage, even forgetting its dignity.
It was now just a large cat, who would know it was once a human?Ā
Not to mention whether it could recover, even if it could, it would never admit it had been a pet in the future.
Ning Yunyi didn’t cook rice that night, but looking at thisĀ pot of broth, then at the large cat’s size, he turned and went back to the kitchen, taking out a large bag of cat food under cover.
He directly poured a bowl of cat food in the other large bowl.
The large cat tilted its large head following Ning Yunyi’s movements: ?? What’s this ? Could it also be delicious?
It approached and sniffed, the aroma not strong, but obviously not as fragrant as the pork trotter soup mixed with pumpkin porridge and fish head.
Ning Yunyi placed the two large bowls through the small door into the cage, then washed hisĀ hands and returned to the dining table.
Ning Xiaomiao had been obediently waiting, and only when Ning Yunyi picked up hisĀ chopsticks did he lower hisĀ head to start eating, hisĀ small face full of delight, hisĀ small feet swinging.
On the other side, the large cat waited until Ning Yunyi had gone far away, then finally couldn’t resist burying its head to eat.
It knew from the noon meal that Ning Yunyi’s cooking was delicious, these strange and unfamiliar ingredients were so fragrant that it almost wanted to swallow its tongue.
But imagining was one thing, actually tasting it in its mouth was another revelation.
The large cat ate without lifting its head, until the pot of soup was finished, then looked at the bowl of cat food expectantly.
The large cat carefully opened its mouth, but the next moment its expression froze: ???
Ning Yunyi’s position was directly opposite the cage, taking in all the large cat’s actions, silently laughing when he saw this .
It seems the cat food didn’t meet thisĀ fellow’s appetite, but at thisĀ size, if it eats all the meals, it would soon bankrupt the household.
Fortunately, although the large cat felt the cat food was a far cry from the meals, compared to the nutritional agents, it was still extremely delicious.
The large cat cleaned the cat food bowl without leaving a single grain.
Not sure if it was an illusion, but it felt the pain in its body had lessened quite a bit after eating.
Ning Xiaomiao was very curious about the large cat, and after washing up at night, he squatted in front of the cat cage, staring at it without blinking.
The large cat had never dealt with thisĀ situation before, simply closing its eyes and curling up in the corner to rest.
Ning Yunyi was leaning on the second-floor railing, also silent, just watching for a while, then called out.
Ning Xiaomiao immediately obediently got up and scurried back upstairs.
The living room dimmed, with only a wall lamp left lit in the doorway, in the shadowy corner of the cage, only a large silhouette could be vaguely seen.
When the footsteps came from upstairs, the large cat silently opened its eyes, its beast eyes looking at the approaching Ning Yunyi, puzzled as to why he was coming down at thisĀ time.
Ning Yunyi walked up to the cage, stood there staring for a while, then took out a soft pad from behind him.
He squeezed it through the cage gaps, taking up half the cage.
Then it was a folding baby bathtub, the large kind, first squeezing it through the cage gaps, then unfolding it.
The large cat watched hisĀ movements in puzzlement the entire time, until he started pouring in some granular substance, the large cat: ??
Ning Yunyi was in an excellent mood: “Until I’m sure you’re obedient, you’ll stay here to recover. ThisĀ is cat litter, to help you with some physiological needs.”
The large cat: … Maybe it should just continue wandering.
Ning Yunyi didn’t care whethis it understood or not, staring at it for a long time, looking at that fluffy coat, though a bit withered, still made hisĀ hands itch.
He beckoned to the large cat.
The large cat had initially wanted to pretend not to see, but remembering the three rules, especially the two meals during the day, obediently moved closer.
But as soon as it lay down, its big ears were suddenly pinched.
Ning Yunyi was gripping the cat ears he had been craving for a long time, different from the little kitten’s, as expected the large cat’s were better, ruthlessly rubbing them, as good as expected.
The large cat let out a low growl and tried to back away.
Ning Yunyi wouldn’t let it go, grabbing its other uninjured front paw, pulling it back, coaxing: “Where are you running off to? It’s only the first day and you’re already disobedient? Do you want to starve tomorrow? I won’t do anything to you, look at you, you don’t even have a pet’s self-awareness.”
There was a new strange large cat in the house, so Ning Yunyi had instructed Ning Xiaomiao not to revert to hisĀ beast form, so he couldn’t rub the little one, so he had to “sin” against the culprit.
Half an hour later, Ning Yunyi went upstairs, satisfied.
Leaving only the large cat lying in the cage, questioning its life, its ears in a messy state, as if it had been brutally violated.
It now knew, the “straightforward” and “courtesy before force” was just a facade, the other party just didn’t want to expose thisĀ side in front of the child, right?
The large cat took a deep breath, thinking as it lay down that it would absolutely never admit it was once human.
Ning Yunyi slept very well that night, unaware that a leak had quietly appeared on the star network in the middle of the night.
ćHeavens! Didn’t expect the new streamer who can make simulated ancient Blue Star delicacies to look like this !!ć
ćOP: I also accidentally found out, I originally thought they were just mixing in the food area, but their main business, but couldn’t help snarking a bit, so I won’t mention who it is.
[Image 1][Image 2][Image 3]
Thinking that the person behind those ancient Blue Star simulated delicacies is actually thisĀ appearance, my appetite has dropped by half.ć
There weren’t many active people on the star network at night, but there were still some.
Especially as Zong Family’s First Knife’s live broadcast had risen to the top of the relevant hot topics again during the day.
Especially as it involved the Star Broadcast R&D department, along with more people coming out to say how incredibly heaven-defying the flavors were.
Even Old Master An of the An Group had fallen into it, leading the group’s employees to scramble for the flavor, furthis propelling thisĀ new streamer’s fame to a new level.
So while the poster didn’t mention Zong Family’s First Knife’s name, the combination of “simulated”, “ancient Blue Star delicacies”, and “new streamer” instantly pointed to them.
As soon as people clicked in, they were shocked by the three images posted before even seeing the text.
The main issue was that the three images were too horrifying, in the dead of night, truly ugly to the extreme.
If it was a normal ordinary person, being a bit unsightly would still be acceptable.
But what the poster had put out was not just simply ugly.
The first image was still somewhat better, a distant view, the blurred background familiar with a pan-fried tofu dish, the scene very beautiful, but next to it was no longer the streamer’s virtual cartoon character, replaced by a side profile.
That side profile, however, was pitted and scarred, making one’s scalp tingle.
The second was a close-up, a full face facing the camera, the right side still the pitted and scarred as in the first image, but the left half was a crisscross of dense scars.
The third was another distant view, but the overall hunched and short stature, no matter how one looked at it, seemed completely different from the impression of Zong Family’s First Knife.
Especially compared to the delicious-looking food next to it, it looked even more tragic.
Some were shocked, cursing out loud in the dead of night.
ć1st floor: OP, do you have a death wish? Opening a hologram in the middle of the night, almost fainted!!ć
ć2nd floor: Ah, is thisĀ real?ć
ć3rd floor: Although one shouldn’t judge based on appearance, but thisĀ is too…ć
ć4th floor: Now I can’t get thisĀ face out of my eyes, the impact is too strongć
ć5th floor: No wonder they didn’t dare show their face, it’s actually like this ? Better not show it thenć
ć6th floor: What’s this , don’t let the previous ones lead you astray, thisĀ person just posted that it’s Zong Family’s First Knife, right? Isn’t it just a troll trying to slander?ć
Some pointed out the problematic parts, and soon many others also realized, oh right, thisĀ person just said it was, so it must be?
The late-night argument was raging, some disbelieving and even defending, some food fans not caring, they were fans of the food not the face, but a small part did believe it.
After all, the poster’s words were plausible, plus Zong Family’s First Knife indeed had never shown their face, if they looked good, there was no reason not to show it.
While the star network was in an uproar, Ning Yunyi had a good night’s sleep, taking Ning Xiaomiao for a morning stroll and then simmering congee and making pan-fried dumplings.
As for the large cat, a bowl of cat food, a bowl of water.
When Ning Yunyi and Ning Xiaomiao were eating the pan-fried dumplings, they clearly felt an unavoidable gaze intently staring at them.
Ning Yunyi glanced up, glimpsing the large cat gripping the cage tightly with its large paws, its large head straining towards them, a hint of laughter in hisĀ eyes, leaving a few dumplings, reminding Ning Xiaomiao to eat well, then carried the plate over.
Ning Yunyi completely faced away from the dining table, the large cat’s beast eyes had been fixed on the dumplings since he appeared.
It couldn’t help it, they were just too fragrant.
Ning Yunyi chuckled, “Wanting to eat, huh?”
The large cat tried to avert its gaze, remembering last night’s incident, wanting to say it didn’t want to, but its large paws were gripping the cage, unable to pull away.
Ning Yunyi opened the small door and dumped the dumplings in its large bowl.
Almost instantly, the large cat’s tongue curled, swallowing three dumplings.
Just about to continue gulping them down, it noticed something was off, glancing up, sure enough seeing someone staring directly at it, it immediately started shoving the food bowl, turning its back to Ning Yunyi, only exposing its large tail.
Feeling thisĀ person’s gaze was just too abnormal.
Ning Yunyi stood up, clicking hisĀ tongue, petty, was he that kind of person?
Apparently… he was.
An hour after going live, Ning Yunyi began preparing ingredients, and when the time came, he logged into [Star Broadcast].
