Part 2
It wasn’t until they stood frozen in place for too long that Mr. Xu frowned. “What are you waiting for?”
But the only answer he got was the grinding sound of teeth clenched in pain.
Finally realizing something was wrong, Mr. Xu was about to speak when the ten men simultaneously let out agonized screams.
The next moment, they collapsed to the ground, curled up, their faces pale and contorted, trembling uncontrollably, and groaning in pain.
Mr. Xu’s face twisted in shock. “You…”
He looked at Ning Yunyi, who was still standing in the center, smiling. That jade-like face was strangely terrifying at this moment.
Ning Yunyi’s hand was outstretched, five fingers splayed in a strange gesture.
Only the ten men lying on the ground knew the true horror of this man. He wasn’t human—he was a monster. He had forcibly ripped out their spiritual energy and destroyed their spiritual seas.
In other words, in just a moment, the ten men had been rendered useless.
Ning Yunyi withdrew his hand, looking at the invisible spiritual energy. Though it was transparent and formless, in his hand, it was covered by his own spiritual power, condensed into ten small, invisible orbs.
He stowed them away in his space. Since they were invisible, nothing seemed out of place even as they disappeared.
Although he had no use for them, Xiaomiao might find them helpful in his future cultivation.
If you act as a thug for evil, you should be prepared to face the consequences.
Ning Yunyi was always fond of using someone’s own methods against them.
Mr. Xu still hadn’t realized what had happened. The remaining ten men, who had stronger spiritual power, could sense something but couldn’t quite believe it. After all, nothing like this had ever happened before.
They hadn’t encountered higher-level spiritual users, so they couldn’t comprehend what was going on.
The ten men gulped, unsure of what to do next.
Mr. Xu frowned. “What happened to them?”
One of the A-level bodyguards, still somewhat composed, took a deep breath and replied, “They’ve been crippled.”
“Crippled? What do you mean?” Mr. Xu was incredulous. He hadn’t seen Ning Yunyi do anything—how could they be crippled?
The bodyguard’s expression was complicated as he looked at Mr. Xu. “It’s exactly what it sounds like. Their spiritual energy has vanished, their spiritual seas have withered. From now on, they’re useless. Mr. Xu, this is far from what you told us. Are you sure this man has no spiritual power?”
Mr. Xu gasped. “How is that possible?!”
But looking at the men on the ground, trembling and unable to speak, his expression changed as well. Still, they were already here, and he couldn’t back down now. Thinking of the promises made to him—not just the star coins but also the chance to go to the First Star among the Seven Major Star Systems—he couldn’t give up.
He didn’t want to be stuck on this garbage planet for the rest of his life. He wanted to make a name for himself, and this was his chance.
Mr. Xu gritted his teeth. “Five times the pay! Attack together! No matter the cost, as long as we capture him, I’ll take you all to the First Star!”
Money could move hearts, and the allure of going to the First Star was even more tempting. The remaining ten men exchanged glances, and their resolve hardened.
Without further hesitation, they immediately spread out, surrounding Ning Yunyi from all sides.
It had to be said—A-levels were different. Ning Yunyi had no intention of wasting more spiritual energy this time.
He cracked his knuckles. Facing two B-level bodyguards coming at him from the front, he threw a punch. One of them quickly released his spiritual power, but it only slowed down Ning Yunyi’s fist momentarily.
Ning Yunyi’s punch seemed to tear through the spiritual energy, landing a direct blow on the bodyguard, who was sent flying and crashed heavily to the ground, unable to get back up.
Ning Yunyi swiftly turned around and threw another punch, sending the second bodyguard flying as well.
Just then, the four A-level bodyguards, positioned in four different directions, simultaneously unleashed their strongest spiritual power. Like invisible ropes, their energy wrapped around Ning Yunyi’s limbs from all sides, binding him.
With his arms and legs restrained, Ning Yunyi appeared trapped by their technique, unable to move.
“Hurry, the rest of you, attack together!”
The remaining four B-level bodyguards, while releasing their spiritual power, drew their weapons and aimed for Ning Yunyi’s head.
Everything happened in an instant. The big cat’s expression changed drastically, its eyes becoming slits, and its sharp claws whistled through the air. Almost simultaneously, its lightning-fast claws slashed at the four men attacking Ning Yunyi, leaving deep, bone-deep cuts across their faces.
“Ah!!” The four men’s movements halted in pain, and before they could react, they were sent flying by a sudden force, crashing to the ground.
As the big cat attacked, Ning Xiaomiao, who had been inside the protective barrier, stumbled forward. In his panic, he didn’t see the steps and fell to the ground. Raising his head, he called out in a soft, anxious voice, tinged with tears, “Father!”
Ning Yunyi, who had been prepared to act once all the spiritual power had been unleashed, heard the little one’s voice and his expression changed. He didn’t want to waste any more time. In an instant, he grabbed hold of all ten men’s spiritual energy and violently ripped it from their spiritual seas.
Cries of pain echoed one after another as Ning Yunyi rushed over to Ning Xiaomiao, scooping him into his arms.
After confirming that he was unharmed, Ning Yunyi let out a breath of relief. Then, realizing something, his eyes lit up. “Did my little one just speak?”
Ning Xiaomiao had been born prematurely and had a unique constitution. Even at three years old, he hadn’t spoken a word. Especially during the past six months of hardship, his small face had become thin, with a large head and a malnourished body.
Ning Yunyi had thought it would take more time before he spoke, even though he had checked and found no issues with Xiaomiao’s vocal cords—it was just delayed speech.
He hadn’t expected that in his panic, the little one would finally speak today.
Feeling both heartache and guilt, Ning Yunyi thought that if he had known, he wouldn’t have let himself get bound on purpose just to make these people unleash their full spiritual power.
After double-checking to make sure the little one wasn’t hurt, he kissed him on the forehead. “Father was just playing with them. They’re no match for me. See? Father has defeated all the bad guys. Isn’t Father amazing?”
The little one’s eyes were red. He had been truly frightened earlier. But now, hearing his father’s gentle voice, the fear passed, and he nestled into his father’s arms. Peeking out, he saw the circle of people lying on the ground.
They were all bad guys.
The little one sniffled softly, wiping away his tears. Realizing he could speak, he suddenly felt embarrassed.
Ning Yunyi patted his head, coaxing him. “You haven’t told Father yet—is Father amazing?”
Afraid that the little one might stop talking again after just starting, Ning Yunyi gently encouraged him to speak.
Sure enough, the little one didn’t want to disappoint his father. Remembering how he had made a sound earlier, he tried again, looking up with bright, admiring eyes. “Amazing.”
Father was truly amazing.
Ning Yunyi finally smiled in satisfaction. “Now, can you call me ‘Father’ again?”
Ning Xiaomiao obediently called out, “Father.”
After speaking, he buried his head in Ning Yunyi’s chest, both shy and adorable.
Meanwhile, the twenty men lying on the ground, writhing in pain: *Seriously? You two are just going to have a chat like this? Aren’t you even going to acknowledge us?*
And as for the big cat, its paw still pressing down on the bodyguards: *Do you have any respect for us?*
The big cat glanced back at the scene and finally relaxed. However, its massive paw pressed down even harder on the bodyguards, making their faces scrape against the ground. The pain doubled.
Bodyguards: Wuwuwu, it’s better to just kill them!
Ning Yunyi finished comforting the little cub and put him down. Only then did he turn around and coldly glance at the bodyguards lying on the ground, shouting, “Big Cat, go back and protect Zaizai. The scene isn’t suitable for children.”
Big Cat raised its paw, lightly leaped, flicked its tail, and returned in front of Ning Xiaomiao, enclosing the little one behind a barrier.
The large head of Big Cat completely blocked Ning Xiaomiao’s view, ensuring he saw nothing.
Ning Yunyi then looked at Mr. Xu, the only person still standing in the courtyard.
Mr. Xu was already scared witless. He had never imagined such an outcome. H-how could this happen? They hadn’t even been here for ten minutes, and everyone was down?
Not only down, but by the looks of things, they were all crippled.
All… crippled.
