Chapter 35: The Ning Family part 1
Young Master Bai had never tasted such a unique texture. The rice, soaked in the rich broth, was soft, glutinous, and subtly sweet, mixed with the intense aroma of the meat. Every grain made one’s mouth water.
He didn’t even bother to sit down. Standing halfway, he rapidly wielded his spoon, finishing an entire bowl of braised pork rice.
Not a single grain of rice was left, and he even licked the bowl clean.
It was even cleaner than the first time the big cat ate.
This scene left Ning Yunyi stunned, still holding a pot of braised pork. It took him a long while to walk over, take the bowl that Young Master Bai was holding in a daze, and seeing the lingering expression on the other’s face, he feared Bai might eat the bowl itself.
“Alright, after eating, you can go digest your food,” Ning Yunyi’s words finally snapped Young Master Bai back to reality. He was shocked, dazed, and incredulous, then looked pitifully at Ning Yunyi.
Ning Yunyi looked at his bulging belly, unable to bear looking directly at it. “Acting pitiful won’t work either.”
Young Master Bai lowered his misty eyes, confirming that his uncle really wouldn’t change his mind. He could only sit pitifully on the nearest chair, trying hard to sniff the aroma, watching the two people and one cat… eat.

After the two adults and one child finished eating, Young Master Bai waited for the robot to come and collect the bowls, then immediately sat next to Ning Xiao Miao.
Ning Xiao Miao ate with a satisfied face, swinging his little feet, curiously looking at Young Master Bai’s belly.
It bulged even more than when he was at his fullest.
Young Master Bai put one arm around Ning Xiao Miao’s shoulder, his face full of smiles, but in the big cat’s eyes, he looked like the Big Bad Wolf abducting Little Red Riding Hood. “Hiss!“
It couldn’t help but hiss warily at Young Master Bai.

The big cat narrowed its eyes, warily moving closer, flicking its tail near Ning Xiao Miao, ready to sweep the little cub away with its tail if anything went wrong.
This rabbit spirit wouldn’t be trying to win over the little one for a bite to eat, wanting to be a stepfather to the little guy, would he?
The big cat felt this person was definitely capable of it.

Uncle isn’t as close as godfather.

Ning Yunyi held the little cub and looked at Young Master Bai.
Young Master Bai put his hands behind his back and silently looked at the sky. He just wanted to acknowledge a dad, how come… how come he cried?
The big cat flicked its tail, giving him a complicated look. If someone suddenly popped up wanting to snatch your father, would you be happy?
Young Master Bai obviously felt very happy; he could even help him take care of Old Bai.
Ning Yunyi figured out the reason and looked helplessly at Young Master Bai. Could he be any more unreliable?
Being stared at by his uncle like this, Young Master Bai immediately stood straight and laughed dryly. “I was joking. It’s getting late, I’ll go back to sleep first. I have to get up early to open the shop tomorrow.”
Without waiting for an answer, he ran away with a whoosh, afraid of his uncle’s anger.
The little cub was quickly comforted. After all, Ning Yunyi didn’t want someone younger than him but with a loose mouth calling him “Father” at every turn. That scene… was truly unbearable to watch.
Early the next morning, Ning Yunyi didn’t let the big cat and Ning Xiao Miao follow him and went to the Underground City alone.
He had something to do in the morning and had to leave the Underground City for a while, so it wasn’t convenient to take them.
He reset the program here last night; any intruder would trigger a message sent immediately to his wristband.
Taking the big cat and Ning Xiao Miao to the study, with the big cat guarding the little cub, he then went out.
When Ning Yunyi arrived at the barbecue shop at the entrance of the Underground City, because it wasn’t business hours yet, he thought there would be no one. But when he arrived, just around the alley, there was already a long line in front.
Especially after discovering three more shops opened, the diners who couldn’t eat yesterday and thought about it all night were excited. They would definitely be able to eat today.
As for the other two newly labeled shops, there was no one lining up.
After all, they had smelled the barbecue yesterday; it was simply heart-scratching and unforgettable.
Braised pork? Looking at it, it was also exotic beast meat, but how could it be more fragrant than barbecue?
For efficiency, one shop trained four people responsible for grilling. Young Master Bai wanted to brush the sauce himself, but thinking he really couldn’t handle it, he could only give this arduous task to the manager Hanna, Bonnie, and two others.
Young Master Bai decided he would be responsible for the braised pork in the two shops in the future.
