Chapter 37: Surprised? Part 1
Ning Yunyi met Elias one hour after his livestream ended.
Because the Big Cat and Ning Xiao Miao had liked the seafood feast yesterday, he had cooked the same dishes for today’s stream.
The two people and one cat had just finished lunch not long ago, and the robot butler was diligently running the castle’s cleaning system to remove any lingering odors and dust.
When Elias arrived with Young Master Bai, his head was lowered, and the black suppression collar was still around his neck.
When he left South City, he had been carried away in a small cage in his red-eyed rabbit form. The Tang suit he wore when he was first auctioned was provided by the Underground City and was quite valuable, so he hadn’t been allowed to keep it.
Elias was currently wearing Young Master Bai’s clothes.
The two had similar builds; the only difference was their hair color and their completely opposite moods.
Young Master Bai’s face was beaming with the physical and mental joy brought by the braised pork rice, grinning so wide only his teeth showed.
In contrast, Elias behind him had his eyes lowered, his soft silver hair covering his eyelids, obscuring his expression.
But Ning Yunyi could sense a powerful wave of resentment emanating from him.
This resentment was so strong that even the little meow cub, running over with his small robot, felt it. He clutched his father’s leg with one small hand, curiously peeking at the silver-haired boy.
Is this the person Father said I would meet?
But he seems very unhappy.
Ning Yunyi glanced at Young Master Bai and said helplessly, “What did you do to him?” The resentment was so intense, several times stronger than when he was being auctioned.
Young Master Bai turned back and looked, meeting the swirls of resentment practically brewing from Elias’s exposed hair whorl.
Remembering something, Young Master Bai touched his nose. “N-Nothing much.”
Ning Yunyi didn’t believe his nonsense. “What exactly happened?”
Young Master Bai looked up at the sky. “Really nothing, just that this rabbit has a bit of a temper and curses really nastily, so I just… hehe, tempted him a little bit.”
Because of the braised pork rice, Young Master Bai had sprinted back to the castle carrying the cage, casually setting it aside.
He had run so fast that he completely forgot about the red-eyed rabbit covered by the black cloth inside.
When the area around the castle quieted down, he finally heard the red-eyed rabbit cursing extremely unpleasantly.
Others might not understand rabbit language, but they were the same species; he understood.
Could the dignified Young Master Bai tolerate this? He had kindly bought this guy, and he was cursing him?
So, Young Master Bai uncovered the black cloth, revealing the braised pork rice and shocking the red-eyed rabbit on the spot.
The red-eyed rabbit had never seen such a scene. Intoxicated by the aroma, his little paws gripped the cage, forgetting everything else.
Young Master Bai scooped a large spoonful and offered it to the cage as if to feed the rabbit, but just as the rabbit was about to eat, ah-woo, he swallowed it himself.
He still remembered the rabbit’s expression at that moment.
But he didn’t just do it once; he deliberately ate slowly for an hour, repeatedly offering and then retracting, tempting the red-eyed rabbit over a dozen times.
After he finished teasing, Young Master Bai threw a set of clothes to the red-eyed rabbit, who was so angry he almost scratched him, telling him to change. When Elias reappeared, Young Master Bai finally understood why the rabbit had cursed so nastily at the beginning.
Elias had quite a few bruises on his face, all from bumping against the cage while in rabbit form.
However fast Young Master Bai had run, that’s how dizzy and battered the rabbit had been.
After Young Master Bai finished explaining, Elias lifted his head resentfully, his exquisitely beautiful face full of complex grievances.
He hadn’t wanted to be like this. Since the other party had bought him, he was technically his master. Although the good stuff the other party ate smelled amazing and he had never seen it before, if he simply hadn’t been given any, he wouldn’t be this angry.
But this guy wasn’t human; he tempted him over a dozen times!
Once was fine, but deceiving him every time? Just when he thought he was really going to get a taste, it turned out to be another trick.
Who wouldn’t be resentful in this situation?
But thinking of his status, Elias managed to suppress his anger the entire way.
Ning Yunyi understood and let them in.
Elias stared at the castle gate right in front of him, his steps faltering. He touched the device on his neck, finally lowered his eyes, and stepped inside obediently.
He didn’t know what awaited him, but thinking of the South City Lord’s threat, he knew he had to endure and couldn’t run.
Otherwise, with the other party’s capabilities, even if his little brother was hidden well, this was still District F; he would be found sooner or later.
By then, not only would he be auctioned off, but even his little brother wouldn’t escape that fate.

Elias took a deep breath, but as the door closed behind him, he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye and froze when he saw a big cat not far away: They keep a pet beast too?
Not only did they keep one, but it looked sleek and well-fed. Did that at least mean the person who bought him had a shred of kindness?
At least they might let him keep his life?
Ning Yunyi pointed to the sofa nearby. “Both of you, sit down.”
Young Master Bai didn’t stand on ceremony, grinning as he tried to go over and scratch the Big Cat, but was scared off by a lazy glance from the latter, immediately turning his feet and sitting obediently on the sofa.
This definitely wasn’t fear; it was just instinct.
Elias didn’t dare move; he stood there, keeping his head lowered.
Ning Yunyi glanced at him, guessing the wariness and anxiety in his heart, and chose to be direct: “We spent 31 million star coins to buy you.”
Elias clenched his hands at his sides. “Yes, Master.”
The Big Cat looked over in surprise. 31 million star coins?
The Big Cat knew Ning Yunyi had gone out on business, but hadn’t expected him to bring back a young man. The thing on his neck seemed to be the spiritual power suppression device developed in recent years?
Wasn’t it said that this thing was only used in prisons to control high-level spiritual power criminals?
Ning Yunyi wasn’t surprised by Elias’s attitude. The current young man hadn’t yet had his beliefs and hope destroyed; he still retained his vitality, which was good.
“You don’t need to call me Master. We bought you simply because we didn’t want you to fall into the hands of those people scrambling for you. You should know what they intend to do with you, right?”
Elias’s slender fingers picked at the seam of his trousers. “…I know.” But likewise, he didn’t believe Ning Yunyi’s claim that he bought him just to keep him out of those people’s hands.
He absolutely didn’t believe there was such a selfless person in the world. 31 million star coins, not 300.
He didn’t know what the other party’s purpose was, but it would be exposed sooner or later.
Apart from his little brother and that person, which were his two bottom lines, he didn’t care about anything else, and he had nothing else worth coveting.
Ning Yunyi: “Now you have two choices. You can listen, then choose to stay, or… leave here.”
Elias suddenly looked up, finally unable to hide his disbelief. “Leave?” Did he hear correctly? This person was willing to let him go?

Ning Yunyi: “Of course, this so-called leaving comes with a price. We can’t have spent 31 million star coins for nothing.”
He noted the wariness in Elias’s eyes. If he simply let the other party go, it would make Elias suspect they had ulterior motives. It was better to give a reason.
Sure enough, Elias relaxed. “What is the price? Do you want the spiritual power in my body too? I can give it to you, I only hope that after you take it… you let me go.”
