Chapter 59: Forced Transformation part 1
After disembarking from the spaceship, Ning Yunyi and the big cat went directly to the only city on the desert planet—
Pinminku City.
The reason it was called this was that among the tens of thousands of star citizens staying here, most had very low incomes or had lived here for generations, making a living by mining star mines.
Although Pinminku City was grey and dusty, the sparrow was small but possessed all the five internal organs.
It was like a small-scale city. The business of most shops came from Interstellar merchants from various planets, people who came to find bargains, or Interstellar fugitives who had fled here.
In summary, this was a desert planet where danger and opportunity coexisted.
The identity Ning Yunyi used was chosen from several Ichi had prepared for him. The reason he chose this one was that this Godefroi happened to raise a beast lion.
Godefroi, fifty years old, an Interstellar merchant, primarily dealing in various types of energy crystals or special ores.
S-rank mental power, occasionally acting as an Interstellar hunter to earn some extra money.
A few years ago, he raised an adult beast lion. It had no mental power but was very fierce, relying entirely on physical power and speed to fight against two or three A-rank mental power users.
Ichi had given him two options: he could provide him with a fake identity that no one could trace, or he could choose one of the code-named secret personnel they had trained over the years to act as for a few days.
The reason Ichi mentioned the first option was that he was afraid Ning Yunyi wouldn’t be able to transform into the appearance of the person in the code name.
It didn’t seem possible no matter how one looked at it, yet when he truly saw it, even Ichi was dumbfounded.
Most importantly, where did he get the big lion from?
Leading the long-haired lion, Ning Yunyi walked through Pinminku City without any concealment and stopped at the best hotel there.
He had booked a room in advance. He swiped the magnetic card and led the large lion carrying the luggage up to the second floor.
Once in the room, Ning Yunyi looked at the big cat, whose face was filled with a look of hopelessness. He couldn’t help but wave his hand again, calling out, “Zongzong, come here.”
The corner of Zong Hao’s mouth twitched. He walked over, flicking his long tail that he wasn’t used to. He tilted his head and bit the suitcase, swinging it lightly to the floor before looking up. “Meow.”
Ning Yunyi’s red eyes looked savage and fierce to outsiders. At this moment, they softened with a smile, inexplicably holding a hint of teasing. “Don’t like this name? I can’t help it; Godefroi’s beast lion is named Zongzong, you have to get used to it. The identities we are playing now are Godefroi and Zongzong. What if I call you in front of outsiders and you don’t respond?”
For the time being, Ning Yunyi didn’t want the Crown Prince to know they had discovered his secret, so he did this just in case the Prince went to investigate.
Ning Yunyi preferred to use an existing identity; that way, nothing would be revealed.
That place had existed for at least forty years. Over the years, no one knew how many high-level mental power experts the Crown Prince and his predecessor had trained. Before understanding the situation, he couldn’t take any risks.
Therefore, he could only win through stability.
First, he had to find a way to sneak onto that desert island to see if the underwater castle that imprisoned shifters was still there.
Godefroi was an Interstellar merchant and also acted as an Interstellar hunter. He had a mission on this desert planet too: to catch an S-rank Interstellar fugitive.
Even if the Crown Prince truly sent someone to investigate, they wouldn’t suspect his flawless identity.
The only thing he hadn’t expected was that Godefroi was quite an interesting person. Because the lion he raised had a coat of brown fur, he called it Zongzong.
Zong Hao was just not used to it, but for the sake of not being exposed, he was actually indifferent.
Clearly, it was fine if others called him that, but hearing Ning Yunyi call him Zongzong made him feel uneasy.
Particularly because he truly was named Zong Hao.
The “Zong” of his name and the “Zong” of “Zongzong” were homophones.
He had the eerie illusion of Ning Yunyi calling his name.
Ning Yunyi had also called him that on purpose. He hadn’t expected it to be such a coincidence, but since they were here for serious business, teasing him a bit was also to ease the big cat’s heavy mood.
Ning Yunyi and the big cat rested in the guest room for a few hours. After dark, he changed his gear. Particularly, he wore something inside his clothes to artificially increase the muscle on his shoulders and chest, making him look burly and fierce to the outside world. With a glare from his red eyes, he truly looked like a savage fugitive.
When he appeared with the big lion, the guests and the receptionist downstairs were startled, looking over frequently for fear that this guest was some cruel fugitive.
With his head held high, Ning Yunyi took large strides forward, performing his savagery to the fullest while looking straight ahead.
Ning Yunyi had learned this from the daily videos of Godefroi that Ichi had sent him. He hadn’t just learned it himself but had also made the big cat study the other’s lion with him.
For three days on the spaceship, the two had stayed in a private first-class cabin, studying the man and the lion thoroughly.
Ning Yunyi took the big cat to a crowded bar. Sitting at the bar, he scattered a table full of gold coins with a loud clatter.
One gold coin was ten thousand star coins. This one move cost him over a hundred thousand.
The bartender boy’s eyes widened, and his voice almost broke. “G-G… Big Brother, what would you like to drink?”
As the bartender smiled broadly and went to gather the coins, Ning Yunyi pressed his hand down. He picked up one coin and blew on it. It let out a hum. With his eyelids drooping, he said, “Little brother, my money isn’t easy to earn.”
The bartender shuddered. “What Big Brother says is true. Hahaha, what does Big Brother want to ask?”
Ning Yunyi beckoned him over. When he leaned in, Ning Yunyi said, “One question, one gold coin. It depends on… how much you can take from here.”
The bartender’s eyes sparkled. “Of course, of course.”
Ning Yunyi first asked about the news regarding that fugitive. He wasn’t in a hurry even if the information was incomplete, and he asked about other situations on the desert planet.
With the fugitive as a cover, even if Ning Yunyi asked about other things, the bartender only thought he was doing so to track the fugitive.
That fugitive’s level wasn’t high, but he was slippery. The bounty had been posted for two months without news, and the amount kept increasing. It was now a bounty of five million star coins.
Many people had asked, but this bearded man before him was the most generous.
After asking what he wanted to know, Ning Yunyi wandered around before returning to the hotel.
As soon as he left, many people came over to ask what the man’s identity was since he was so generous. The bartender told them everything.
Ning Yunyi had been acting and didn’t go out again. In truth, he began to remove his and the big cat’s “makeup.” Once nearly finished, Ning Yunyi first put oxygen tanks on himself and the big cat, and then brought out a fully charged electric bike.
The big cat was completely stunned. He had actually had some suspicions before. Back when Ning Yunyi thought he was a beast, he hadn’t hidden anything from him or the kitten. Although Ning Yunyi occasionally feigned things, Zong Hao had guessed that the other might have some secret treasure given the Ancient Blue Star ingredients that appeared out of nowhere.
But seeing the other produce a strangely shaped vehicle out of thin air still left him in a daze.
Ning Yunyi had even used an Invisibility Talisman on him, so this wasn’t much more.
After all, the other person’s secrets had been almost entirely stripped bare by him; they… really only lacked their undergarments.
The big cat silently didn’t ask much. Even if he did, Ning Yunyi likely wouldn’t tell him.
Ning Yunyi taught the big cat how to use it once they were underwater. He then picked up the electric bike, applied Invisibility Talismans to everything, opened the window to the balcony, and closed it from the outside before jumping directly from the second floor.
