Chapter 19: Luring the Enemy
Gu Yunsheng felt a wave of suffocation, his chest feeling like it was about to explode. He struggled desperately and finally broke through the surface of the sea, greedily gulping down fresh air.
Before him lay the boundless sea. Apart from a few seabirds circling low, there were only rolling waves.
He tried to find a passing ship, but looking around, there was nothing but deep blue seawater. Not even the shadow of a ship could be seen.
Without time to think much, he waved his arms vigorously, trying to swim toward the shore.

The room wasn’t big, but the decor was warm and elegant. Sunlight spilled in through beige curtains, casting warm patches of light on the floor.
“You’re awake?”
A magnetic voice rang out. Gu Yunsheng turned his head with difficulty and saw a tall man standing by the window. Against the light, his face couldn’t be seen clearly, but his powerful aura was impossible to ignore.
“You are…?” Gu Yunsheng struggled to sit up but felt dizzy.
“Don’t move around; your body is still very weak.” The man turned, walked to the bed, and placed a soft cushion behind him.
His movements were gentle, his tone mild but unquestionable. “My name is Xue Chenxi. Yesterday, while conducting scientific research by the shore, I found you washed up on the beach by the waves, so I brought you back.”
“I… where am I? What happened to me?” Gu Yunsheng’s voice was hoarse and weak, carrying a trace of panic and confusion.
“This is my cabin by the sea,” Xue Chenxi explained patiently. “You’ve been in a coma for a day and a night. It must have been caused by prolonged dehydration and physical exhaustion. Luckily, I found you in time.”
“Thank you… thank you for saving me…” Gu Yunsheng said gratefully, but his heart was full of doubts.
“No need to thank me; it was just a small effort.” Xue Chenxi smiled. That smile was like warm spring sunshine, dispelling the unease in Gu Yunsheng’s heart. “How do you feel? Is there anywhere uncomfortable?”
“I…” Gu Yunsheng wanted to speak, but suddenly felt a burning sensation on his right index finger. He subconsciously raised his hand; the spatial ring was flashing with light.

Gu Yunsheng forced a smile, hid his hand under the quilt, and said apologetically, “It’s just a toy. I’m a traveler swimming in the sea. I encountered a storm at sea, but luckily survived and was washed ashore by the waves.”

Don’t tell me you ran away secretly from your family?” Xue Chenxi narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone carrying a hint of scrutiny as he looked Gu Yunsheng up and down, as if trying to see through him.
Xue Chenxi’s tone became serious. “If that’s the case, Uncle has to have a good talk with you. How can you make your family worry?” He deliberately put on a stern face, pretending to have the majesty of an elder, trying to see any flaws in Gu Yunsheng’s face.
“I didn’t run away from home. I really came out for adventure, to shoot another set of videos. I work in self-media.”
Faced with Xue Chenxi’s sudden questioning, Gu Yunsheng’s heart skipped a beat, but he calmed down quickly. He had a sudden idea and brought out the prepared excuse, his tone firm and unhesitating.
