Reflexively, he shoved the thing back in. Turning his head, he saw Shen Yunqian and breathed a sigh of relief.
Shen Yunqian: “Ran into someone you know?”
Lu Xunye: “No.”
Shen Yunqian: “It’s done. Let’s go.”
Lu Xunye froze. He belatedly realized he knew nothing about this world. “Are we going home?”

Like a fresh breeze passing through, bringing humidity after rain, Shen Yunqian came back to his senses, his eyes softening. “We’re going home.”

Lu Xunye surveyed the room that felt strangely familiar despite being unfamiliar. Shen Yunqian changed his shoes and followed him in. “What do you want to eat tonight? I’ll go buy groceries in a bit.”

When he went out, Shen Yunqian was just about to leave for groceries. Lu Xunye said excitedly, “I’ll go too.”

All items were scanned.

Shen Yunqian refused without thinking. “No need.”
“I want them.” Lu Xunye pouted and acted pitiful when he turned to look at him.
The cashier immediately said, “Okay, you’re still thirty short.”
Shen Yunqian, resigned, randomly grabbed a box of candy next to him and tossed it over. Still two yuan short, the clerk silently added two lollipops.
In the end, Lu Xunye held the freshly acquired cups, glancing at them occasionally to make sure they were still there.
Back Home
Lu Xunye was in a good mood and became clingier. With a lollipop in his mouth, he helped Shen Yunqian wash vegetables, pass the salt, and rubbed his head against Shen Yunqian’s neck from behind.

With a clatter, Lu Xunye was thrown out of the kitchen.

Life here was simply too good, so good it felt like a dream. He was constantly afraid of waking up, so he had to cherish every second.
He watched TV in the living room. Before long, the candy in his mouth was crunched away.
Remembering there was another box of candy, he reached for the bag and fished out that box from among the snacks.

At the Dinner Table
