Part 2
An Alpha couldn’t say he couldn’t do it.
He was only eighteen, at the age where pheromones were vigorous enough to drill through diamonds. He was definitely stronger than those old men.
Tang Xingye: “I’ll take however much you can give.”
Did that mean all of it?
That would have to be very deep, very heavy, to form a knot.
He really didn’t expect Tang Xingye to be so hungry, carrying such strong pheromones on him already.
Pei Lian gritted his back teeth and added with feigned casualness, “Xingye, you probably like that kind of high-concentration pheromone now, right? My concentration for the first time… might not compare to those Alpha Geges. I’m afraid you won’t like mine.”
Tang Xingye turned his eyes to look at him. “It doesn’t matter. Light is also nice.”
If the concentration wasn’t enough, quantity could make up for it.
Pei Lian choked: “…”
The little widower was obviously comforting him, but he didn’t want to be comforted at all.
On second thought, the little widower’s husband died, and there was no one to comfort him. Enduring alone for so long must be very unbearable.
Lonely and impatient, perhaps he wouldn’t even need to be tricked. Whatever was done to him, he wouldn’t resist, only obediently accepting it.
Beautiful glazed eyes blurred, shedding tears, whispering words of love originally meant for his husband to the Alpha bullying him.
Just as Pei Lian was secretly fantasizing, Tang Xingye suddenly took out a row of gleaming syringes from the lab bench drawer, arranging them neatly on the tray from smallest to largest capacity.
“Pick one.” The beautiful eyes were filled with the incomprehension of romance unique to a block of wood. His tone was calm, as if asking how many sugar cubes to add to coffee.
Lin Mo, Pei Lian: “…”
Oh, asking for pheromones. That was how he was asking.
That was very Tang Xingye.
Pei Lian silently chose the syringe with the largest volume. Even in this aspect, an Alpha couldn’t say he couldn’t do it, nor could he be outdone by other Alphas.
Tang Xingye’s eyes lit up slightly. “Are you sure?”
Pei Lian pulled out his customary cheerful smile. “…Mn.” As long as you’re happy.
At this moment, Pei Lian had to confirm that Tang Xingye’s brain really only contained experiments and not a shred of romantic thought.
Then what was with the hickeys?
Could it be that as soon as the Alpha being drawn from cried out in pain, Tang Xingye would lean in and reward them with a kiss as comfort?
So many hickeys, he must have drawn until they fainted.
…That would actually be quite pleasurable.
Pheromones on the market were quite expensive. Tang Xingye was immersed in the joy of how many experiments this amount of pheromones could support.
His brain heated up, and he suddenly thought of something, turning to ask Lin Mo, “Is your rut coming soon? Do you need relief? I can help you.”
Since Lin Mo spent all day in the lab and had no time to date, rather than letting him suffer through his rut, he might as well be benevolent and help out.
For the dedication to the cause of scientific research, Lin Mo should be grateful.
The clear voice carried a rare trace of imperceptible excitement. Those clear glazed eyes reflected the figure of the Alpha before him, shining with shallow expectation.
Lin Mo: “My rut just passed.”
Tang Xingye: “…Oh.”
The arc of his lips moved downward by exactly one pixel unit. The Beta seemed to manifest drooping cat ears.

The cat ears scratched at a person’s heart. Lin Mo’s Adam’s apple rolled slightly. “You…”
He was interrupted by something else before he could speak.
“Xingye, pack up the materials and attend a meeting,” Professor Ye pushed the door open and said with a smile.
He treated Tang Xingye, this smart and talented student, like a beloved Pal (Pokemon-like creature); he wanted to tuck him in his pocket and take him along even to mooch off an academic conference.
Tang Xingye met the professor’s tacit understanding look, understood instantly, and nodded slightly.
When Professor Ye turned to look at the other two, his smile instantly converged a few degrees.
Pei Lian: “Teacher, I want to go too.”
Lin Mo looked up at him, silently expressing the same thought.
“It’s not that I won’t let you go,” Professor Ye’s gaze swept over the piled-up waste solution by Pei Lian’s hand and the stagnant experimental data in front of Lin Mo. “It’s just that, your progress…” He dragged out the ending meaningfully.
Hehe, just the right excuse not to bring these two cash machines along.
Tang Xingye calmly organized the materials, his slender fingers aligning the edges of the documents meticulously.
On the way, Professor Ye introduced Tang Xingye to the research directions of the scholars at the meeting and potential learning values, even considering the choice of snacks during the tea break for him. Tang Xingye knew he was paving the way for his new project and noted everything down.
The lecture was as boring as the professor had said. The PPTs showed results the big shots had published six months ago; the real value of communication was all in private conversations.
After listening to the exchanges between Professor Ye and those academic big shots after the meeting, Tang Xingye gained many new understandings regarding his research topic.
Since Professor Ye had a private gathering with friends, Tang Xingye didn’t join in the fun. He mooched some snacks from the tea break as dinner and prepared to go back by himself.
Walking to digest the food, Tang Xingye’s expression turned cold. He looked up at the intersection; there was no surveillance camera.
He stopped walking, turning toward a certain spot, and spoke coldly, “Roll out.”
Was I discovered?
Oh my, Wife is really amazing.
Huo Zhe, who had been secretly following, didn’t expect Tang Xingye to be so sharp. Clutching his bag, he walked quickly from the corner.
Tang Xingye didn’t expect the person following him to be an Omega. The appearance carried a bit of coldness, face slightly pale, eyes lowered—fitting the currently popular “world-weary handsome Omega” look. He looked a bit familiar.
“Senior, sorry, I didn’t mean to follow you.”
His voice was very small and he spoke a bit fast; Tang Xingye had to listen intently to hear clearly.
Seeing Tang Xingye didn’t speak, Huo Zhe thought Tang Xingye had forgotten him. He was a bit disappointed, but still smiled. “It doesn’t matter if you don’t remember, I am…”
Tang Xingye stared expressionlessly at his face. It took a while to find this person’s memory from the corner of his mind.
In high school, a teacher had asked Tang Xingye to tutor a junior, saying this Omega had great placement test scores but his grades had dropped terribly after entering the Olympiad class.
Surrounding people said he had a gloomy personality, screaming and chasing away the people assigned by the Omega Protection Association.
It was hard to imagine the Omega who hid his face with bangs all day and cowered away from people was the same person as this cold, handsome guy holding a kraft paper bag in front of him.
“Huo Zhe?”
When Tang Xingye called out this name with a bit of hesitation, the other party’s eyes lit up instantly.
“Senior, you still remember me!” Huo Zhe’s eyes curved in a smile, his voice trembling with excitement.
“You need something?” Unlike the joy of Huo Zhe reuniting with an old friend, Tang Xingye looked at him with a light gaze. Their friendship really wasn’t deep enough to be called friends.
Given Tang Xingye’s cold appearance, if one didn’t understand him, they would probably get angry easily.
Huo Zhe was happy as if wagging a tail. “There are some words I’ve kept in my heart for a long time…”
“Senior, I, I didn’t mean to disturb your life. I was too happy to see you! I just wanted to tell you my feelings back then.”
The small habit was still there; twisting his fingers when nervous, speaking speed still fast.
While listening, Tang Xingye recalled this person’s information. The topic had shifted from thanking him for his guidance in high school, to helping him drive away students who ostracized and gossiped about him, then to the reunion, recognizing him at first glance, and deciding to confess the feelings he wanted to confess in high school.
“Before, my study pressure was too great. I took so much medicine but it was useless. Only… felt a bit more comfortable.”
“But I listened to Senior, I threw away the thumbtacks and other dangerous things…”
Tang Xingye was pondering: Was this person such a chirpy, clingy character in high school?
“Really, thank you, Senior. Every time I felt terrible, looking at Senior’s photos made me feel much better. Every time I DIY-ed, my body felt light, overflowing with happiness.”
Huo Zhe’s voice was excited, but the Beta in front of him remained cold and unmoved.
Clear, cold, and aloof, like the moon hanging high in the sky.
