Chapter 45: Women’s Clothing: I’ll Let You Touch. Part 1
The sole of Tang Xingye’s shoe pressed against his shoulder, the force neither light nor heavy. Because of this movement, the pant leg slid up a section, revealing a length of slender, snowy-white calf. Cyan blood vessels were faintly visible beneath the thin skin.
Ji Chen glanced at it, then quickly looked away.
The flesh all over Tang Xingye’s body was delicate, white as a lychee. A slight pinch would sink in and leave a mark.
The texture of the sneaker sole was a bit hard, digging into Ji Chen. He gripped the back of Tang Xingye’s knee and moved the leg away slightly, glancing at the shoe print on his clothes.
He leaned down, lowering his eyes to look at Tang Xingye, his expression serious. “It’s dirty. Compensate me.”
Feeling the familiar gripping strength, Tang Xingye tried to pull his leg back. The other’s fingers were stuck right in the most sensitive spot behind his knee, causing his calf muscles to tense instantly, his brows furrowing.
Ji Chen’s eyes were pitch-black and cold, wearing an expression that said he wouldn’t let go unless compensated.
Looking at the expensive fabric, which appeared to cost a fortune, Tang Xingye figured the dust would come off with a shake and a pat.
Faced with this unreasonable request for compensation, Tang Xingye put on a cold face. “No money.”
Ji Chen: “I want mint candy.”
Tang Xingye: “…”
He paused, his expression a bit complicated, then let out a breath. “I’ll go buy some later.”
Ji Chen was very satisfied with the perpetrator’s proactive attitude toward compensation.
The door to the training room was knocked upon. An Alpha stood in the doorway. His face was handsome and gentle, his brows and eyes smiling, but the smile didn’t reach the depths of his eyes.
It was Zhou Lin.
His gaze swept over Tang Xingye’s knee, which was being held by Ji Chen, and the leg resting on the shoulder. He smiled, though it didn’t look like a smile. “I assume I haven’t interrupted your flirting?”
“…”
Does flirting refer to wanting to beat the other person to the ground?
Identifying the newcomer, Ji Chen didn’t even lift his eyelids. He let go, stood up lazily, turned out his empty pockets, and urged the perpetrator, “All out. Pay up, quick.”
Tang Xingye retracted his leg naturally, straightened his pant leg, and shook out his clothes, preparing to resolve this unexpected financial dispute as soon as possible.
Zhou Lin was used to Tang Xingye’s coldness. He looked composed and not at all awkward. However, as they brushed past each other, he smelled Ji Chen’s pheromones staining Tang Xingye.
Ji Chen’s daily pheromones were extremely faint; you couldn’t smell them unless you sniffed carefully. He didn’t know how close they must have been pressing against each other to smell such obvious pheromones now.
Zhou Lin’s eyes darkened slightly as he reminded Tang Xingye, “Don’t forget about tonight.”
Tang Xingye didn’t stop walking, just looked up at him to indicate he heard.
Ji Chen had excellent hearing and naturally heard their unhidden conversation.
Tonight? Is there an important banquet?
He patted the dust off his shoulder and looked at the uninvited guest who had suddenly barged in. “Did you come here to be my sparring partner?”
Alphas all had extremely strong territorial instincts. Zhou Lin’s pheromones were now emitting a hidden aggressiveness, making Ji Chen feel he was being provoked.
Zhou Lin gave a faint smile. “I was just wondering, when did your relationship get so good? I’m a little envious.”
Ji Chen raised an eyebrow slightly and cracked his knuckles. “Fight a round and you’ll know.”
“…”
Zhou Lin smiled lightly, his eyes deep. “Is there something special about him to you?”
Ji Chen clicked his tongue, his expression returning to its previous casualness. He smiled. “Does that have anything to do with you?”
“You’re interested in Tang Xingye? Would you be satisfied with a Beta?” Zhou Lin leaned against the wall, looking at Ji Chen casually. Yet, those cold, weary eyes actually surfaced with a glint of satisfaction.
Ji Chen looked at Zhou Lin with a spurious smile. “Are you asking from the standpoint of a roommate, a friend, or… a loser?”
Zhou Lin’s expression paused slightly, a trace of darkness flashing through his eyes.
“If you’re not fighting, go back and rest.” Ji Chen issued an eviction order.
…
Tang Xingye didn’t pack anything and arrived quickly at the agreed location.
A black luxury car stopped in front of him, and Zhou Lin stepped out.
Zhou Lin was dressed exceptionally formally. His hair was groomed meticulously, looking every bit the gentleman of high standing. Tang Xingye thought he was going on stage to host the Spring Festival Gala.
Student attire against a stiff suit made Tang Xingye look exceptionally student-like.
He silently moved a bit further away from Zhou Lin. He wasn’t going to be the green leaf accentuating Zhou Lin’s flower.
As if detecting his thoughts, Zhou Lin said smoothly, “Little Green Leaf looks good; you look good in anything.”
Tang Xingye glanced at him. I didn’t say anything.
Getting into Zhou Lin’s car, Tang Xingye naturally sat in the back row. He was very relaxed; after all, going to the banquet was basically just mooching a meal for him.
Zhou Lin followed closely and sat in the back row as well. His suit pants pressed against Tang Xingye’s leg. Tang Xingye glanced at him, scooted over, sitting towards the window. “Do you have to squeeze with me? Can’t you sit in the front?”
Zhou Lin gave a “Mn,” but didn’t move.
Tang Xingye: “…”
He looked out the rear window, confirmed no one was on the side, and prepared to open the door to get out and sit in the passenger seat himself.
“Lock the doors,” Zhou Lin ordered the driver. “Lower the partition too.”
Tang Xingye pressed the handle; sure enough, the door didn’t budge. The partition descended with a hum, isolating a space for the two of them alone.
Tang Xingye: “…”
Dog thing.
Since it had come to this, he might as well memorize vocabulary words.
Tang Xingye ignored Zhou Lin’s meaningful look and took out his phone. No-Memorize-Words App, launch.
Zhou Lin suddenly asked, “Did you have fun with him?”
“It was fine,” Tang Xingye replied vaguely. He didn’t understand who Zhou Lin meant by “him,” nor did he care. Adopting a slacker mentality, his main strategy was perfunctoriness.
“Is that so.” Zhou Lin’s gaze moved from his face to his ankle, then quickly withdrew. “The gala requires formal attire. I prepared a suit for you. Put it on when we get there, okay?”
Tang Xingye was a bit surprised. In his understanding, the biggest gala was the Spring Festival Gala, filled with prominent figures.
He didn’t refuse directly. “Can’t I wear this?”
“Just treat it as accompanying me, doing me a favor.”
Tang Xingye was dissatisfied. “How old are you, needing someone to accompany you? Can’t you find a better excuse?”
Surprisingly, Zhou Lin didn’t get angry upon hearing this. Instead, he smiled, only stopping when Tang Xingye rolled his eyes.
Tang Xingye didn’t let him off, continuing to curse him for being sick in the head. Zhou Lin paused.
Tang Xingye kept a cold face, his little mouth yapping away; cursing people felt quite good.
When Tang Xingye got tired of scolding, Zhou Lin took a water bottle from the center console and handed it to him. “Don’t be angry.”
Tang Xingye glared at him, took the water, and started drinking.
Only then did Zhou Lin speak. “Little Green Leaf, I have work too. I won’t pester you every moment. Just stay in the lounge for two hours, play around however you like. When the time is up, if you don’t think it’s fun, we’ll leave.”
Tang Xingye looked at him askance. “You said the same thing at your birthday party last time. Do you think I don’t remember?”
Zhou Lin suddenly leaned in, his warm breath fluttering against Tang Xingye’s ear. “But last time, someone spiked my drink with an aphrodisiac…” Seeing the Beta turn his face away, he retreated with a low chuckle. “At least this time, I haven’t lied to you yet, right?”
“As long as you don’t have bad intentions, our time together can be very pleasant.”
The sweet words of the rich were sugar-coated cannonballs. Tang Xingye thought about it; he was already on the pirate ship, and jumping off halfway was impossible. He might as well see the world and experience the feeling of a successful person in a suit and leather shoes in advance.
If it got really boring, he’d just find a place to memorize words.
Zhou Lin seemed to see a vacillating kitten, hesitating whether to go home with someone. “If you’re worried, I’ll book a presidential suite for you. You can stay inside and not come out if you want.”
With that, the kitten agreed.
