Part 2
This sounded like flirting. At close range, Tang Xingye’s face had no flaws, his skin fair and smooth. Long eyelashes were thick like small fans, eyes beautiful, corners tinged with wet redness. With the tear mole, he was aloof yet enchanting.
Zhou Lin’s Adam’s apple moved slightly. He leaned close to Tang Xingye, observing him quietly for a long while.
This was indeed a face no one could help but love. Anyone would cast a gaze of partiality upon it.
If Tang Xingye really wanted to seduce someone and make them fall for him, it would be effortless. He wouldn’t even have to do anything, and people would willingly grovel on the ground just for a glance.
“Your wig is a little crooked.”
Tang Xingye: “…”
He widened his eyes, instinctively slapping the coffee table. He was so angry he wanted to curse Zhou Lin, opening his mouth but not knowing what to say.
Now Zhou Lin really laughed.
Tang Xingye simply snatched the wig off and threw it in his face. “Get lost.”
With the wig removed, black hair stuck messily to his sweat-dampened forehead, making the tear mole even more distinct. The strap of the white dress slipped halfway down, revealing a teeth mark on his collarbone that hadn’t faded yet—who knew when it was bitten.
Zhou Lin brushed the wig off his face, looked at the teeth mark, and the smile on his lips faded a bit. “You really are amazing, Little Green Leaf.”
Zhou Lin controlled Tang Xingye’s emotions with a single sentence. It wasn’t very aggressive, but it ignited Tang Xingye’s dissatisfaction.
He sneered repeatedly, imitating Zhou Lin’s tone, but his words sounded sarcastic no matter what. “How can I compare to you? Alphas are just amazing.”
But Zhou Lin didn’t want to continue on this topic. When Tang Xingye had said enough, he raised sincere eyes, shedding his usual gentle mask, a slight smile on his lips. “I told my family very seriously that I have someone I like.”
“It’s the Omega who came with me. I said we are true love.”
Hah?
Tang Xingye’s angry emotions snapped. His first reaction was that Zhou Lin was joking.
Zhou Lin looked at Tang Xingye seriously, his deep eyes reflecting his figure. “It’s true.”
Tang Xingye was stunned. He stared into Zhou Lin’s eyes trying to find the joke, but belatedly realized Zhou Lin probably meant it.
Like?
Liking an excellent and hardworking Beta like him is perfectly normal. If someone else said this, Tang Xingye would at least say thanks and praise their good taste.
But Zhou Lin saying this was weird. Weird enough to make Tang Xingye a bit uncomfortable. His gland gave a subtle throb of pain, but that wasn’t important.
Tang Xingye instantly perked up. Leaning on the table, he scooted forward. “Then will they, like in TV dramas, throw a check at me and say ‘Here’s five million, leave him’?”
Not expecting this reaction from Tang Xingye, Zhou Lin found his money-grubbing appearance amusing. “Back then, Ji Yu offered you four million, why didn’t you take it?”
Tang Xingye shook his head, saying seriously, “Different. He just wanted to use that money to shut me up, proving the punishment he received was far less than that price. To him, that was just pocket change, and I just wanted to vent my anger.”
“You used me as your shield. Who knows what your family will do to me? This is what I deserve.”
Zhou Lin sighed faintly. “What a pity. They will only test if you are an S-class Omega and if the compatibility is high. If they see the medical report and know you are a Beta…”
“Then give me five million and tell me to pack up and leave.” Tang Xingye naturally finished the sentence, perfectly completing the tragic ending where the poor Beta loses his lover and only gets money.
Coincidentally, the TV behind them wasn’t off, playing a fitting line—“Insult me, I don’t care, just give me money.”
“You really want money?” Zhou Lin asked.
“Who doesn’t like money?” Tang Xingye asked back.
“I thought Little Green Leaf was exceptionally lofty, viewing money as dirt.” Zhou Lin smiled spuriously.
“Dirt your head. People starve without money.” Tang Xingye rolled his eyes at Zhou Lin. What nonsense is he talking? “I accompanied you for a night, wasting my study time. I have no reason to refuse income from my labor.”
Zhou Lin’s drunkenness surged up, and he didn’t want to continue the banter. He prepared to sleep. But Tang Xingye wasn’t going to let him off so easily. He got up, followed behind Zhou Lin, and kicked him.
“Where’s my payment?”
As a result, Zhou Lin fell onto the carpet just like that, scaring Tang Xingye into checking on him.
“Don’t try to scam me, I didn’t use force…”
He was pulled down to the ground along with the fall. The world spun, and Tang Xingye crashed onto the Alpha. Tang Xingye instinctively propped one hand on the ground and the other on the Alpha’s chest, sneering, “I knew you were pretending.”
Having fought many people, Tang Xingye didn’t feel anything improper about this posture. Zhou Lin, however, groaned, then curled his lips, his eyes holding a meaningful smile.
At this touch, Tang Xingye was the one who froze. Through the clothes, he felt a rough texture rubbing against his palm.
It was gauze.
The smell of alcohol on Zhou Lin was too heavy, masking the faint smell of blood.
He lifted Zhou Lin’s shirt hem. Sure enough, gauze was wrapped around his abdomen, faintly seeping red. Zhou Lin smiled. “Unwilling back then, now you can’t wait to throw yourself in my arms?”
Tang Xingye sneered, deliberately pressing his fingertip hard onto the gauze. “What pity are you faking? I didn’t beat you this time; don’t pin it on me.”
Zhou Lin groaned, his Adam’s apple rolling. Fine sweat seeped from his forehead, but he suddenly chuckled low. He clamped onto Tang Xingye’s wrist with force almost enough to crush bone, yet his voice was light and hoarse: “…Try pressing again?”
Tang Xingye struggled but couldn’t break free. Instead, Zhou Lin dragged his fingertips slowly down along the edge of the bandage. Through the gauze, he could feel the Alpha’s tense muscles and the scorching body temperature underneath.
Only then did Tang Xingye realize how terrible his posture was—straddling the Alpha’s waist, his skirt piled messily at the roots of his thighs.
His flustered, slightly parted lips still gleamed with moisture. Most lethally, the gland at the back of his neck was faintly heating up again, as if some instinct had been awakened by the other’s pheromones.
“You—” His ears burned hot. He yanked his hand back abruptly, but Zhou Lin pulled him back, causing him to stumble and fall onto him.
Zhou Lin took the opportunity to embrace his waist, palm pressing into the hollow of his lower back, thumb rubbing ambiguously twice. He whispered, “Didn’t you want to check the wound? What, scared?”
Tang Xingye’s breath hitched. His knees pressed between Zhou Lin’s legs, clearly feeling the changes in the other’s body. He gritted his teeth. “…Are you fucking injured or in heat?”
Zhou Lin laughed, his hot breath spraying on the side of his neck. “Who knows? Maybe… it’s because you’re pressing too tight.”
Numbing itchiness spread from that spot. Tang Xingye instinctively wanted to dodge. In his panic, he rubbed against Zhou Lin’s injury, hearing the Alpha groan, and only then regained some initiative.
“Serves you right.” He deliberately pressed down again, glaring fiercely at Zhou Lin.
Zhou Lin released his hold, raising his hands in feigned surrender. “Alright, not teasing you. I fell myself; I don’t blame you.”
“Fell… my ass. Falling can cause this kind of injury?” Tang Xingye sneered. Suddenly understanding something, a smile appeared in his eyes. “I know, someone beat you up. So you’re unhappy. No wonder you came in with a fake smile.”
“Which warrior beat you? I must get to know him properly.”
Zhou Lin poured cold water on him directly. “They don’t want to know you.”
Tang Xingye curled his lips. “Oh.”
Zhou Lin seemed to want to share something interesting. “Don’t be unhappy. I’ll tell you a funny story.”
Tang Xingye scoffed. “Spare me. I don’t want to hear about your trivial messy affairs.”
“Of course not about me,” Zhou Lin didn’t give Tang Xingye a chance to refuse. His voice suddenly sounded very distant, as if fallen into memory. “It’s a story about an Omega who died of illness.”
Tang Xingye wanted to refuse again. “Wait, I’m not interested in the tragic childhood of a rich young master crying in a BMW—”
Zhou Lin pinched his chin.
“That child was tested young and found to differentiate into an S-class Omega. Everyone told him he must become the most perfect helpmate for an Alpha. His every word and deed strictly followed standards. Even going out to buy a bottle of water required the consent of three Alpha bodyguards, even if it was just a formality. After all, in their eyes, an Omega didn’t even have the qualification to choose a drink.”
Tang Xingye’s struggling gradually stopped.
“He indeed differentiated into an S-class Omega as everyone expected.” Zhou Lin suddenly chuckled lightly, carrying indescribable irony. “Then he got ‘sick’.”
Moonlight leaked through the gap in the curtains, casting mottled shadows on Zhou Lin’s profile.
“He became lazy, rejected perfume, cut up all his gowns, didn’t like dressing up, and secretly ran out, even climbing walls at midnight to meet a Beta.”
The story came to an abrupt halt, silence spreading between the two.
Zhou Lin was ready to face Tang Xingye’s harsh mockery, but heard the person on top of him ask very softly:
“Why did you suddenly think of him?”
“Insult me, I don’t care, just give me money.” – Line from the movie “Gone with the Wind”.
