Tang Xingye’s brain felt dizzy for a moment. The world before his eyes blurred as if covered in mist, becoming illusory and hazy.
He bit his lip hard, drawing out a vibrant red color that contrasted with his snow-white skin, looking just like a red plum blossom fallen in the snow.
His mind cleared slightly. Now Tang Xingye knew what drug that man had used.

Tang Xingye ruthlessly slapped away Lin Mo’s gloved hand, failing to notice the Alpha’s instantly stiff fingertips.

Tang Xingye lowered his eyes and pursed his lips. These Alphas were born with everything, so naturally, they felt the project wasn’t important.

Lu Zhi tried to persuade him a few more times. Anxious, he scooped Tang Xingye up by the back of his knees in a princess carry. Tang Xingye wasn’t heavy, so he forcibly carried him away like a porcelain doll.
“What are you doing! Lu Zhi!”
Tang Xingye struggled violently, his knee slamming hard into Lu Zhi’s abdomen. Hearing the other party grunt, muscles instantly tensing, cold sweat soaked his shirt.
But Lu Zhi didn’t let go; instead, he held him tighter, voice hoarse. “…Don’t move around, what if I drop you?”
When Tang Xingye landed, he broke out in a thin layer of sweat, his fair and delicate skin covered in a mist.
“Ten minutes.” Lin Mo looked at Tang Xingye steadily for two seconds and said softly, “It won’t delay the negotiation meeting.”
Lin Mo looked at Lu Zhi. “Give him a shot of your inhibitor. You know the dosage.”
Lu Zhi’s inhibitor was specially made by a research and development team. The drug effect inside was potent. He used it often, so naturally, he could control the amount. He couldn’t be bothered to investigate how Lin Mo knew this right now.
These words made Tang Xingye find Lin Mo a bit more pleasing to the eye; even his indifferent tone seemed more pleasant.
But losing face in front of Lin Mo again still made him slightly annoyed.
Can people change their fate? Every time he got a little proud, fate always made him tumble.
Seeing this, Lu Zhi didn’t insist anymore. He just stood silently by Tang Xingye’s side like a silent barrier, blocking the probing gazes of others for him.
The iodine wipe swiped across his skin, making Tang Xingye shrink slightly. Lin Mo held him down. As the syringe pressed down, Tang Xingye grabbed Lin Mo’s lapel in pain.

Lin Mo handed him a tissue, but it was taken by Lu Zhi. “I’ll do it.”

“After it’s over, go get checked again,” Lin Mo said lightly, letting go first.
Tang Xingye gave a vague acknowledgment, looking down to check his phone and reply to messages, completely failing to notice the confrontation between the two Alphas.

Tang Xingye hadn’t expected Lin Mo to stay, let alone actively take over, remembering even the minute details of his project so clearly.

“If you rest any longer, the school hospital will close.”

Lu Zhi was stunned, his face instantly panic-stricken. He cursed the man in his heart again, wishing he could kill him. He comforted Tang Xingye, “Don’t be afraid. I’ll find something cold for you to apply first, and we’ll go to the hospital immediately…”
Tang Xingye watched self-blame flash across those sharp brows and eyes.
Blaming himself for what? He accepted the wine himself. If an accident really happened, it would be his own doing. Was he supposed to blame Lu Zhi for not watching him well enough?
Tang Xingye felt it was absurd, even a bit funny.
