Part 2
“What are you crazy about? Am I that kind of person?” The friend frowned. “I’m into Alphas. Besides, without seeing a photo, how can I recognize the person?”
Lu Zhi doubtfully sent Tang Xingye’s photo in the form of a flash image.
Although it was only a few seconds, seeing the photo, the cigarette in the Alpha’s hand on the other side of the screen dropped to the ground.
Lu Zhi gave a few more instructions, but the other party didn’t speak. He frowned, “What are you thinking?”
The friend subconsciously spoke his mind, “Thinking about your wife. How is he so blind to fall for you?”
Lu Zhi: “…”
Damn it, he knew it.
A group of curs thinking about Tang Xingye every day.
Lu Zhi thought, Indeed, no one is reliable; protecting the wife still has to be done personally. Tang Xingye didn’t let him go, so he couldn’t go secretly? If he wasn’t discovered, it meant he didn’t go.
On the high-speed train, Lu Zhi booked a seat not far from Tang Xingye. Seeing the dark circles under his eyes, knowing he stayed up late doing experiments again last night, he felt heartache and couldn’t help cursing Lin Mo for not knowing how to watch over people. What if his body broke down from exhaustion?!
Perhaps the gaze was too long; Tang Xingye seemed to sense it and looked back. Lu Zhi hurriedly hunched his body to avoid the other’s line of sight. Tang Xingye quickly withdrew his gaze, looking at the raindrops on the window.
Lin Mo originally wanted to remind Tang Xingye to rest, but noticing his gaze, asked, “You like rain?”
Thinking in his heart that he could arrange artificial rain a few more times for Tang Xingye to play in.
Tang Xingye shook his head gently: “Don’t like it.”
Rainwater would wet the pant legs when going out, bringing a sticky dampness. Those days when he had to go out and rush about, he couldn’t care about the cold.
“However, I don’t hate it very much either,” Tang Xingye said.
This sentence left Lin Mo speechless for a moment, even feeling that Tang Xingye was pointedly responding to his previous confession.
Neither like nor hate—this non-committal attitude was actually the most ticklish.
“Rainy days are very suitable for sleeping.” Tang Xingye put on an eye mask and closed his eyes to rest.
The black eye mask stuck tightly to his face, revealing the cold jade lower half of his face. Black and white distinct, outlining a silent yet enticing color.
Lin Mo’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He couldn’t help murmuring in his heart:
Bad baby, just knows how to hook him.
Lin Mo reached out to turn off the light, not disturbing Tang Xingye’s rest.
Arriving at the destination, Lin Mo went to queue for registration, letting Tang Xingye enter the conference hall first. As soon as he entered the venue, the surrounding gazes stuck to him.
Alphas from the same school were complaining about the annual meeting being boring, but the topic suddenly shifted the moment group messages popped up.
【Did you guys see the Jing University School Flower? Fuck, I feel like my eyes have been washed clean.】
【Is it that Academic Daji? Looking so beautiful, if I had a first-author paper, I’d give it to him too.】
【Before I sneered, now I know I was too pretentious. Boohoo, this face is too good at growing; every part grows right on the tip of my heart.】
【You guys are really enough. Maliciously speculating all day long. Can’t it be that he wrote it himself? Can’t stand seeing others do well, just know how to spread rumors.】
【Come on, you’re the high-minded one. Have you seen his list of papers? That quantity and quality, how could he write them himself? Must have been brought to go through the motions, show his face.】
【Tsk, you guys make him sound so mythical? I want to see just how good-looking he can be.】
Not long after the message was sent, a candid photo was thrown into the group. The shooting angle was a bit tricky, obviously a sneak shot.
In the center of the picture, the young man was turning his head slightly to look at the display board. The fluorescent light cast a faint halo on his exquisitely contoured profile. His eyelashes were unreasonably long, expression cold, yet inexplicably hooking people’s hearts to itch.
The group was silent for three seconds.
Immediately after, the group exploded as if a depth charge had been dropped.
【Fuck!!!】
【So what if he’s Academic Daji? With this face and temperament, if he wants my paper I’ll give it! First author to him! Corresponding author to him too!】
【Is it too late for me to drop out and retake the exam for Jing University now?】
【@All Members, does anyone know which hall he is in now? I have an academic question I want to consult deeply (Doge face)】
Tang Xingye stopped in front of his own field’s display board, his gaze falling on other people’s names. Even in unpopular fields, there were still many big shots working.
“Baby, are you short of a bed partner?” Suddenly an Alpha came over to hit on him.
Tang Xingye didn’t answer, glancing at him coldly.
That look was very cold, and also very beautiful.
Just this glance made the Alpha’s scalp numb with pleasure. No wonder those Alphas were willing to give him the first author position. If he could get his hands on this, he would be willing to give it too.
“My nose bridge is very high, skills are very good,” he leaned close to Tang Xingye, lowering his voice, “I also got pearling done, guarantee to make you squirt.”
Lu Zhi was hiding behind the display board. Overhearing them, veins popped on his fist. Really shameless!
He typed keywords, searching frantically:
—How long does pearling surgery take?
—How long does it take to recover from pearling?
—How many beads in a ring, how many rings are suitable for entering a small x, will x break?
Tang Xingye didn’t want to pay attention to him, saying faintly: “Scram.”
The Alpha felt even better after being scolded, eyes almost glued to Tang Xingye, leaning closer with a playful smile: “Scram over to where?”
Tang Xingye couldn’t be bothered with him and walked straight toward the side hall. Halfway there, he frowned slightly; this person was actually still following him, constantly promoting himself, “If you like other ways of playing, we can try.”
Tang Xingye stopped, looked at him, and hooked the corner of his lips into a glamorous but dangerous smile: “Sure.”
The Alpha was dazzled by this smile. Just as he was about to pounce with joy, the next second, he was kicked to the ground.
He cursed in pain and looked up, wanting to see which blind person made a move. Looking up, he saw a tall figure; another Alpha was staring at him furiously.
Lu Zhi’s face was gloomy, eyes full of anger, fists clenched, knuckles cracking, approaching step by step.
Having seen too much of Lu Zhi’s silly side, Tang Xingye had almost forgotten the aggressive underlying nature of Lu Zhi as an Alpha.
He had a posture of wanting to beat the person to death. Tang Xingye frowned, “Don’t cause trouble.”
The Alpha on the ground mistakenly thought Tang Xingye was defending him, and couldn’t help feeling a trace of triumph in his heart.
“Is this your boyfriend?” Although in pain, he forced a smile and said, “My fault. It’s right for your boyfriend to be angry.”
“If you have something, come at me. It has nothing to do with him.” The Alpha put on the appearance of an adulterer caught in the act.
A vein throbbed on Lu Zhi’s forehead. Unable to hold back, he kicked the guy in the side again, voice squeezing out from between his teeth: “Damn it, what kind of thing are you, is it your turn to sow discord here?”
Lu Zhi’s features were already deep. Now with a cold face, the aggression in his brows and eyes was fully released. “Are you worthy?”
After kicking the person, Lu Zhi turned around, his expression instantly softening. He lowered his head and apologized in a muffled voice: “Don’t be angry, I was wrong.”
The Alpha looked at the face-changing Lu Zhi, pupils shaking. Is this still the same person?
The vicious Alpha just now was now as docile as a dog.
What magic potion did Tang Xingye feed him to train him like this?
He looked up at that extremely cold and glamorous face. Sunlight shone from top to bottom, dyeing it with a bit of rosy glow, breathtakingly beautiful. Suddenly, he could understand.
He even began to envy Lu Zhi. Being a dog for a beauty, isn’t this a form of “sweet after sweet”?
In short, it’s a kind of reward.
Seeing that person still dared to continue looking at Tang Xingye, Lu Zhi’s face darkened again. He blocked Tang Xingye behind him, radiating low pressure all around. “Still not scrambling? Want me to pay for your ICU medical bills?”
Lin Mo found Tang Xingye by relying on positioning. From afar, he saw Lu Zhi’s appearance of following every step, wishing he could leash himself to Tang Xingye.
His gaze swept over Lu Zhi. He walked closer slowly and tugged his lips lightly, “So the dog skin plaster all along the way was you.”
Lu Zhi turned his head abruptly, meeting Lin Mo’s eyes written full of mockery. The anger just suppressed whooshed up again.
