Chapter 6
When Xu Ziyan returned to the dormitory, his roommate happened to be out. Back in his own little territory, he finally relaxed his tense nerves. He forced himself to take a shower, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
While he slept, Xie Wei was busy turning the sky upside down.
Inside the main team’s training room, the players had already started their individual training. Coach Yu Guangzhou was standing in the corridor, discussing the summer season meta analysis with the data analyst.
Xie Wei walked up. “Coach.”
Yu Guangzhou turned his head. “Yo, you’re here?” He knew about the incident at Huating yesterday, and since Jiang Yuxin had asked for leave in advance, he didn’t say anything about Xie Wei’s late arrival.
Xie Wei said, “That Medic from the second string, how does the team plan to handle him?”
Yu Guangzhou smiled. “Definitely persuaded to leave [fired]. But whether it’s handled publicly or privately depends on you. Why? You didn’t ask just out of curiosity, right?”
Xie Wei didn’t bother beating around the bush and said directly, “For this vacant Medic spot, I have a candidate to recommend.”
Xu Ziyan woke up from his sleep and groggily checked the time on his phone: 5:30 PM.
Looking further down, there was actually an unread message.
[ Xie Wei: The team transfer is done. I’ve also spoken to the second-string coach. Report there tomorrow. ]
[ Xie Wei: If you feel unwell, message me. ]
Xu Ziyan’s brain was still fuzzy from sleep. He looked at the man bathed in golden confetti on his lock screen, then at the received messages, and couldn’t help but feel a sense of unreality, as if a dream were shining into reality.
This was the first time he had received a message from Xie Wei. He read those few sentences several times before cherishingly pressing the screenshot button and saving it into a newly created album.
Then he suddenly remembered that his peripherals were still in the youth camp training room. He had to report to the second string tomorrow and didn’t want to delay, so he climbed up, changed his clothes, and hurried to the youth camp.
Since the three-month trial period was coming to an end, most trainees who were going to join a team had joined, and those who were leaving had already left. So, although it was training time, only two or three people remained in the training room. The sound of keyboards was sparse, making it very deserted.
On a reclining chair to the side, the sleazy coach who had disgusted Xu Ziyan for days was humming a song with his legs crossed while playing on his phone. Occasionally, he would reveal a greasy smile, too lazy to even glance at the others’ training.
A flash of disgust crossed Xu Ziyan’s heart. If this fat pig hadn’t caused trouble, he would have left the youth camp long ago. It wasn’t conceit; he had played Solos against those who had advanced to the third and second strings ahead of him, and he won every time—even though he was a Medic, the class with the worst Solo capability.
Fortunately, things had taken a turn, and he didn’t have to leave TWG.
Xu Ziyan exhaled, opened the door, and walked in.
He didn’t make much noise, but it was just enough to attract the attention of Wang Jingyu, who was looking at his phone.
He moved his eyes away from the scantily clad Omega on his screen and fixed them on Xu Ziyan walking in. Then he narrowed his eyes and let out a contemptuous snort through his nose.
Relying on his position as a coach and his connections, Wang Jingyu had taken advantage of many Omegas. Some even used their bodies to curry favor with him. It was no exaggeration to say he was the local tyrant of the youth camp.
When Xu Ziyan first joined the camp, Wang Jingyu had set his sights on him.
But he didn’t expect Xu Ziyan to refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit. He had only touched him a few times, yet Xu Ziyan dared to hit him?
Aren’t Omegas born to be touched by others?
In retaliation, over the past three months, Wang Jingyu had blocked all of Xu Ziyan’s applications to join the team, watching his frustrated face with glee: So what if you’re skilled? Don’t you still have to bow your head to me? This is the consequence of resisting! You should have just been obedient from the start.
Xu Ziyan naturally sensed the disgusting gaze sticking to him. He frowned quickly, but thinking that he would be leaving soon, he couldn’t be bothered to pay attention. He walked straight to his computer station and began organizing his cables and packing his keyboard.
The teammate sitting next to him, the one who had spoken to him last night, saw Xu Ziyan packing his peripherals and was surprised. “Ice, you’re not preparing to leave, are you?”
Xu Ziyan said, “I am leaving.”
The teammate assumed he was packing up to go home and said regretfully, “Sigh, don’t think too much about it. I heard RG is starting a new round of youth training soon, and they’re short on Medics. It would be good to look for an opportunity there.”
Xu Ziyan paused. Just as he was about to explain, a sneer filled with disdain and mockery came from behind him. “What’s wrong? Going home?”
He furrowed his brows and turned around. Sure enough, he met Wang Jingyu’s disgusting face.
Xu Ziyan put away his keyboard and replied coldly, “This shouldn’t have anything to do with you.”
Wang Jingyu chuckled happily. “How is it not related? If you had just endured a little bit back then, hmm… I conservatively estimate you would be a third-string starter by now.”
“…”
Xu Ziyan didn’t want to say a single extra word to him, but he felt a bit strange inside: Did Xie Wei not tell Wang Jingyu about the team transfer?
He turned his head to leave, but Wang Jingyu was relentless. He grabbed Xu Ziyan’s wrist. “Hey, don’t be in such a hurry to leave. Let the coach point out a clear path for you. Tonight, come to my room, and I’ll give you another chance…”
His voice grew quieter as he spoke, practically wishing he could lean right into Xu Ziyan’s ear.
Xu Ziyan broke out in goosebumps. He glared at him with disgust, sweeping his peripheral vision across the others in the training room: those wearing headphones kept them on, those looking at screens kept looking, all pretending not to hear or see anything.
When he was being groped back then, these people had reacted exactly the same way.
A coldness swept through his heart. Xu Ziyan suppressed the anger in his chest, telling himself again and again: Don’t hit him, don’t hit him, you’re joining the team tomorrow, absolutely do not hit him…
Forcing down his nausea, he was just about to speak when he suddenly heard a cold question from the entrance of the youth camp.
“Coach Wang, what are you doing?”
