Part 2
The world fell into complete silence.
After calling “Brother” and getting no response, Wen Rong finally summoned the courage to extend his hand.
A sudden ringtone interrupted him.
Wen Rong walked to the sink, saw the call from Senior Leon, and hurriedly picked it up. “Senior?”
“Did I wake you?”
“No, no, I haven’t slept yet.”
“Why did it take so long to pick up?”
Thinking of what he was about to do, Wen Rong grabbed the towel in embarrassment to drape over his shoulders. “Sorry, I was showering.”
“Mm. I messaged you on Black Pigeon just now. You didn’t reply, so I thought something happened.”
“No, no, I won’t have accidents in the dorm.”
As Wen Rong spoke, his gaze drifted wildly. Seeing a layer of steam on the mirror, he wiped it away, discovering he had gained some weight in the mirror. Before, there was a row of bones on his chest; now, those bones were wrapped in flesh.
Water dripped from his hair onto his shoulders, flowing everywhere.
The small face in the mirror was suddenly very unfamiliar. Wen Rong hadn’t seen himself like this. His skin was red, nose tip and eye corners even redder, almost the same color as his lips, looking like… unsatisfied desire.
Wen Rong startled himself, patting his face to force his brain to clear. “Senior, do you have anything else to tell me?”
A light chuckle came from the phone. “Just wanted to ask what you thought of the video.”
!!!
Wen Rong heard himself inhaling. The towel casually wrapped around his waist fell to the floor with a thud.
As if the whole world collapsed, he threw the phone back onto the sink and hurriedly wrapped the towel again.
Hearing the commotion on the other end, “What’s wrong?”
“No!” He exhaled an obvious breath. “Nothing. I I I watched the video…”
“Mm. Tell me if you don’t like it.”
Wen Rong was at the moment of blood surging and head spinning. When Leon asked, his mouth answered automatically, “Senior, why show me two men?”
“You haven’t had a girlfriend. Would seeing a woman’s body suddenly scare you?”
Seems to make sense.
Wen Rong: “Um… thank you, Senior.”
“Mm. Watch slowly. Some techniques in there are very comfortable to use; you can try them.”
Wen Rong’s cheeks burned up instantly. He didn’t know when the call ended.
The water on his delicate skin evaporated slowly, but inside he was terribly hot.
On his slender neck, his Adam’s apple rolled up and down. Supporting himself on his knees, he stood up slowly, extended his fingertip, and clicked on the video Senior Leon sent again.
Early Morning, 6:00 AM
Floriman Academy’s bell tower rang, and pigeons flew into the sky with a whoosh.
The Tennis Club was terrifyingly quiet after morning practice ended.
As everyone knew, Shi Ye was in a bad mood because of Shi Jing’s enrollment. Not only did he have a stink face for days, but he also trained new wounds before the scars on his hands scabbed over, completely fitting the saying “as long as not trained to death, train to death.”
Everyone dared not even breathe, afraid breathing would make Shi Ye angry.
What was worse—Qi Yuan, the only one familiar with Shi Ye, quit the club and turned to run after the newly enrolled Shi Jing.
“Brother Shi, how do you feel these days? Adapted yet?”
Qi Yuan handed the plate to Shi Jing. Just as he was about to get another plate for himself, Shi Jing looked up, a smiling face gentle and harmless. “I want half a slice of whole wheat bread, avocado paste, blueberries, and black coffee.”
Qi Yuan paused, silently retracting the plate. “Mm. Find a seat; I’ll get it for you.”
“Thank you, Brother Qi Yuan.”
Qi Yuan tried hard to maintain his smile, turning his back to roll his eyes.
Even Shi Ye hadn’t ordered him around like this.
But he didn’t regret it.
The slight pain in his finger joints reminded him that if he continued hanging out with Shi Ye, there would never be a possibility for him and Wen Rong.
And Zhang Wanfei came from the entertainment industry. Now that she became the First Madam of the Shi family, the Shi family would definitely prioritize film and television. Qi Yuan’s father had extended an olive branch long ago; he had to pick a side with his father.
Thinking this, Qi Yuan’s anger from being ordered around dissipated.
He quickly got what Shi Jing wanted, placed the plate in front of him, and sat opposite, preparing to enjoy breakfast.
“Cut the bread into small pieces. My mouth is small; I can only eat in small bites.”
Qi Yuan: “…”
“Brother Qi Yuan, can you not hear me?”
Qi Yuan closed his eyes briefly.
Before Shi Jing enrolled, Zhang Wanfei had called him for ten minutes. It was a one-sided output, roughly saying her son was far from her for the first time, Qi Yuan must take good care of him, and satisfy whatever requests he had.
Didn’t say what benefits for completing, nor what punishment for failing. These people were just like this, issuing orders from high above, naturally thinking others should obey their arrangements.
Qi Yuan got up to get a steak knife. “How small?”
Shi Jing tilted his head back and opened his small mouth, eyes charming like silk. “This big.”
Qi Yuan ignored the other’s seduction, lowering his head to focus on cutting bread.
Just a small half slice; cut in two or three strokes. He pushed the plate back to the other person.
Just as his butt hit the seat, a noisy sound came from the door. Tennis Club members finished with morning practice walked in groups.
Shi Jing looked back at them, a sweet smile on his face.
The Tennis Club crowd saw him too, turning their faces away one by one to pretend not to see.
Clatter.
Shi Jing threw the fork on the table. “Are those people from the Tennis Club?”
Qi Yuan didn’t understand where his anger came from. “Mm.”
“I want to join the Tennis Club.”
“The president of the Tennis Club is Shi Ye.”
“I want to join precisely because Brother Shi Ye is there.”
“…” Qi Yuan was silent for a moment. “The Student Council will have you fill out a club application form in a few days. You can try.”
“You fill it out for me.”
“…Okay.”
“I want to be Vice President once I’m in.”
Qi Yuan didn’t know where Shi Jing got the confidence, but he really wanted to see the scene of Shi Ye rejecting Shi Jing, so he echoed, “Mm.”
“Fork is dirty. Brother Qi Yuan, I want a new one.”
“Okay…”
Only after Qi Yuan brought a new fork did Shi Jing finally stop making a fuss. He forked a small piece of bread, dipped it in avocado paste, puffed his cheeks to bite off a tiny corner, chew chew chew chew.
Qi Yuan calculated the frequency. One mouthful was fingernail-sized, average 20 chews, so this breakfast would take about an hour.
He frowned—because he would be late for morning class.
Amidst his worry, a tall figure walked into the cafeteria.
Worry turned into surprise. Qi Yuan blinked, confirming the person entering was indeed Shi Ye.
Having just drawn a line with him, Qi Yuan instinctively wanted to hide. But he saw Shi Ye’s gloomy face suddenly show joy, walking straight towards him.
Qi Yuan was stunned, an unthinkable thought arising in his heart: Does Shi Ye want to win me back?
Soon, this thought was dismissed.
Because although Shi Ye’s gaze was in his direction, it had a precise target—Shi Jing.
Does he want to trouble Shi Jing?
Burdened with responsibility, Qi Yuan stood up to protect Shi Jing.
Getting closer and closer. At the same time, Shi Jing also noticed Qi Yuan’s abnormality and complained, “Brother Qi Yuan, you’re blocking the light.” Shi Ye froze, his expression turning ugly instantly, turning to walk out quickly.
Shi Jing finally realized something, looked back, and his eyes lit up with joy. “Brother Shi Ye.”
Shi Ye walked faster.
“Brother Shi Ye, wait for me.” Shi Jing put down the remaining small piece of bread and chased out.
Qi Yuan watched this scene, eyes narrowing slightly.
Because learning acting required imitation, his observation skills had always been strong. For example, the first second he approached Wen Rong, he realized Wen Rong was very beautiful. But this time he was unexpectedly dull, only now realizing Shi Jing and Wen Rong’s backs looked extremely alike; hair length and figure were almost identical.
As if to verify for Qi Yuan, a figure walked in the door.
The two silhouettes were like copy and paste.
Shi Ye stopped. Shi Jing successfully caught up to him.
The person entering stepped aside, profile handsome.
Qi Yuan discovered again, actually they were not alike.
Wen Rong had a natural dullness, clear and sincere. He was still the only irreplaceable little magnolia flower in his heart.
